Great stay, fun island, fantastic support/help.

Kevin is a great guy, who went way above and beyond to improve our stay. Invite to a private fishing pond, brought over an extra kayak, fixed a faucet on the fly, and was available for anything/everything we needed. Beautiful island. Do bring bug spray. No issue through the day, but night time campfires were cut short.

Perfect place for Social Distancing 2020

The property met all of our needs. We stayed with my husbands parents and found the lower bedroom perfect for them. We all slept great on the beds. The kitchen is well appointed and path around the island was a perfect way to stretch your legs. The many birds on the island were fun to watch. Kayaking right off the island was calming. We also tried the pizza just across the way it was yummy. The many golf courses in the area was a plus for my husband. The fishing was a challenge, unless you know how to catch catfish and carp. We really enjoyed the lack of mosquitoes. Very rare in Wisconsin. It was a very fun week.

A Magical Family Getaway on Rome Island – 10/10 Stay!

Our family of four spent 10 unforgettable days at this one-of-a-kind cabin on Rome Island, and we can honestly say it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in serene natural beauty—peaceful, quiet, and absolutely magical. We saw eagles, cranes, herons, woodpeckers, baby fawns, and even nesting snapping turtles! It was like living inside a nature documentary.The cabin itself is a true work of art—solidly built with unmatched craftsmanship and thoughtful details throughout. Everywhere we looked, there was something beautiful to admire. It had all the modern conveniences we needed, including a well-equipped kitchen with spotless appliances and every utensil necessary to cook delicious family meals. There was plenty of space to gather around the table and enjoy dinner together.Even in 95-degree weather, the A/C kept us cool and comfortable. Our boys especially loved climbing up to the loft, which they called their “tree fort.” They said the beds were super comfy and they slept like rocks every night!The indoor bathroom has an incredible jacuzzi tub with a view of the woods—an absolutely perfect place to unwind. The outdoor shower with hot water came in handy for rinsing off our dog after a swim, and the washer/dryer helped us stay on top of beach towels and swim gear.We grilled out, made s’mores by the campfire, and even ordered pizza from Romanos across the lake (which tasted extra

Nekoosa cabin

We had a terrific stay. The cabin was clean, well-stocked and lovely. The privacy on the island was exactly what we hoped for. There is noise from the bar across the lake on Fridays and Saturdays but otherwise it is quite peaceful. The air conditioning was needed and worked very well. The only drawback was the size of the dock. We brought a 21' ski boat and the dock where you unload was way too small for the boat. Thankfully we were able to unload all our stuff using a neighbor's dock. Kevin was very quick to respond and even made a trip out on a Sunday afternoon to replenish the propane for the grill. We all had a great time and we will probably return in the future. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Amazing place full of relaxation & adventure!

Truly, amazing gem! If you want to be isolated you can stay on the island and adventure around. You will encounter great wildlife, including nesting Eagles to snapping turtles, deer, gorgeous various birds, geese & beyond! Then venture out around the island on kayak or go out onto the lake if you have your own boat. Nothing involved in this getaway was a disappointment, it exceeded our expectations! The home itself is so well done & cared for. The craftsmanship of the log home is top notch (pun intended)😉. The local decor in the cabin & fun antiques are neat to look at as well. The outdoor shower was uniquely refreshing & a great concept! The owners are amazing at keeping in touch & went above & beyond to reachout when bad weather was in the area. Overall, this was an amazing find & close to so many other local places… great food, fun & more!

Wonderful Stay!

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay! Everything was wonderful from the accommodations, cleanliness, communication with Kevin (the owner), and the property. The lake views were amazing, the kids had a great time fishing and kayaking, we saw deer and other wildlife on the trails, and enjoyed watching the bald eagles soar above the property. We look forward to when we can stay here again!

Wonderful property with excellent communication!

My family (wife & three boys) stayed at this property and although we came into the stay with high expectations, we were still blown away. Kevin reached out ahead of time and provided detailed instructions and then went above and beyond in my opinion in getting us settled. We brought our own boat and there is a 1/2 mile distance between the private parking and the boat launch. I usually take on both roles of launching the boat and parking the vehicle. Kevin met us at the boat launch, followed me to the private parking and then brought me back to the boat! During this time he talked about the property’s history along with recommendations for boating and getting around the area. Kevin then met us at the island and introduced us to all of the amenities offered. We didn’t realize that kayaks and a canoe were also provided and discovered during our stay that our youngest absolutely LOVED kayaking! In summary, the pictures do not do this properly justice and expect a wonderful time. I’d like to thank Kevin once again for the opportunity to stay at his property and wouldn’t think twice about returning if the opportunity ever arose! If you’re on the fence, book it!

Nature and comfort

Loved the island paradise, do much wildlife to watch in a comfortable cabin. Just the balance of utility and luxury. The two porches were great to follow the sun. Owner was super helpful. Rent the pontoon, you will need it.

Exceptional - Book it now!

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying on the island for a quick mental health get away. Kevin was easy to work with and responsive to our questions. The cabin itself is perfectly crafted and comfortable. We were just a party of two, but it appeared to be certainly well set up for up to 6. The kitchen is well set up for any culinary delight. The real magic is outside, the trail system around the island is a nature and bird watchers dream. Kayaking throughout the bay is fabulous and the expansive lawn and fire pit made the evenings delightful. While my wife and I found exactly what we needed, our dog by far enjoyed the stay the most. Growing up on a cabin in rural Maine, we've always had a running conversation of the perfect cabin we would build - we found it all right here at Rome. Search no more, book this and don't think twice.

Summer Trip

Stayed with a few friends and had an excellent time. Kevin was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Cabin was very clean and tidy as advertised. We had plenty to do on the lake and the pizza place right across the water was great. Would definitely recommend!

Cabin on private island

Cabin was clean, well equipped, and just about perfect. Wifi and air conditioning an added plus. Owner accessible and went out of his way to make our stay pleasant. Location is on a very quiet lake.
