Ocean Lakes Cozy and Updated Beach Cottage

Located in Ocean lakes campground. At 1355 Dolphin Drive. This home consists of 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths

Bedroom 1 has queen side bed with tv
Bedroom 2 has 1 full side bed
Bedroom 3 has bunk bed with 2 full beds with tv/DVD

Newly renovated kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, oven, microwave and crockpot, coffee makers (regular and Keurig) , pots and pans, utensils, and dishes.

Living room has large smart tv, spectrum cable, with two couches with ottoman for your comfort.

Bathroom 1 consists of tub, shower, and washer and dryer.
Bathroom 2 has tub/shower and newly renovated.

"A $500 security deposit is required but will not be charged provided house is found damage free.

Parking space for 2 cars only - Ocean lakes does charge $12 a day per CAR for guests upon entrance. at check-in. *$10 a day for Express check-in is available and recommended.

NOT INCLUDED: We do not provide bed linens, towels, wash cloths, hand towels and paper products, soaps, washing detergents, and coat hangers.

NO SMOKING INSIDE OF HOUSE of any kind. - doing so will automatically forfeit your refund.

Amenities consist of water park, indoor and outdoor pools, putt \-putt golf, bike riding, playground for kids, game room, Sandy’s restaurant, and arcade.

NEED AN ADDITIONAL HOUSE: See my other Ocean Lakes Property on VRBO property #2677310. This is located two doors down from this property. Would be great for other family members or friends to be close.

The host was outstanding and the place very clean with exception of some sort of sticky coating on the kitchen counter that persisted in spite of several cleaning attempts. It’s important to know that this is a small cottage at only 800 square feet and is “real right!” The bunk bedroom was little more than a walk-in closet and was missing a door separating it from the kitchen. We improvised using a bedspread. The other two bedrooms were not quite as severe, but were small. Two full bathrooms certainly helped and the whole complex is huge with a lot of walking space and accommodation for small pets. Good heat on cold days in the Fall. Would be best space limited to two adults and the rest small children or young teens.

We had a terrific stay! The home was clean upon arrival. We had 4 adults and 2 children (3 and 6). It was a very comfortable space for all of us without being overcrowded. Full size bathrooms was a plus also. We will stay again!

Unit was not clean and in disrepair. Multiple roaches inside the residence and my wife awoke one night with one crawling on her. We left early. Pictures do not represent the state of the unit as of July of 2025.

The home was great for our family vacation, plenty of space for everyone. The house was a short walk to the beach and amenities center. My kids also enjoyed the small lake at the end of the road where the feed the turtles. The host was very nice and made everything as easy as possible for us. We would definitely stay here for another visit

Nice stay but home improvements needed

Our stay was overall nice, and Ocean Lakes was great as always. The house itself is in much need of some work to be of the same standard. The deck was quite rough to walk on as is the floor on the inside of the house. There are severely uneven areas, and every single one of my family members, including my 3 yo, fell over the threshold to the master bedroom at some point. After some initial trouble shooting with the host on arrival about the AC (super helpful!), it did cool the home but was consistently a few degrees off (set on 68 but house at 74). It was also uneven: freezing in the bathroom and hot in the bunk room. Several air vents were rusted closed and could not be opened. As it appeared other visitors had done, we moved the vents halfway off the duct to allow air to get through, but there was still no ventilation in the bunk room. The kitchen countertops were perpetually sticky (despite cleaning), like someone applied clear coat and it never dried. Despite all that, it was still comfortable and host helpful. Washer/dryer was a game changer! Would be terrific with some upkeep addressed as described above.

Enjoyed our stay!

We stayed for almost a week and really enjoyed it! The house was clean and as described. I spoke to the owner and she is very nice and happy to help with anything! I would stay here again!

Clean and Well Organized

We have stayed at other homes in OL, but this is the first property to actually take in to consideration storage hooks, towel bars, and trash cans. I actually packed an over the door hanger with me because of experiences at other homes that lack storage. We were pleasantly surprised to the convenience of the simplest things that others over look that make a stay run smoother. Plenty of hooks, drawers, and cabinets to store our things while staying. Our family enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Misrepresented

The pictures and description make the property sound much better than it is. The steps in and deck are bare from chipping/ worn paint. Interior floors are heaving and water damaged. Misc screws and hardware installed in flooring, walls and ceiling. Overall the house was in disrepair and hap hazardly renovated at some point. The bedrooms are impossibly small as well as the bathroom in the “hallway”. Overall 1/5 stars for deceiving images of property. Upon check in we had to thoroughly mop the floors so our feet would not stick to them. While mopping there always an abundance of dirt collected. Interior of home has a damp smell that was being covered up by air fresheners.

Family vacation

Overall the house was okay. It definitely needs to be updated and re painted and missing hinges put on the cabinets. I would also say the owner needs to have it sprayed for bugs because we killed about 7-9 spiders inside. It would be great if they had a leaf blower so you can actually enjoy the porch. Or they need to cover the porch! And plan to wear shoes at all times even on the porch with all the pine needles and bug spray on you at all times. The mosquitos were everywhere around the house. Lastly about the outside was the table on the deck. We had to wipe it down multiple times before letting our kiddos sit there and eat it was very dirty. The box to get the key out was soooo hard to open when we first got there and was the same when we went to put the key back. I got a little nervous cause we spent time trying to get in it and I finally called the number of the owner to ask for help and there was no answer and no call back. It was also asked to text the owner when we left, and I would think they would text back something at least but no response, a simple “hope you enjoyed your stay” would have been nice! We definitely love ocean lakes though! So much for the kids!

Cottage

Ocean lakes has really cracked down on curfew and who can operate a golf cart. Do not expect to be out past 11pm even if teenage! A little disappointed in property compared to listing. Deck had mats covering chipped/unpainted area. Table needed power washing. Lots of debris from trees which I wish we had access to a blower to be able to enjoy the deck. Couldn’t walk outside without shoes from pinecone pieces. I most look forward to sitting outside while the kids play. Had to open the dishwasher to open some drawers in kitchen. Some missing handles. Fridge and freezer both had door support piece missing so limited storage on doors. Owner was so great though. Quick response when we locked ourselves out and couldn’t get tv to work. Figured we rented towards the end of the season and resulted from previous guests. Location was great given we rented a golf cart. I wish we would’ve known to bring our own electric cord to charge it. Not trying to be a Debbie downer, just not 100% what I was expecting.

Absolutely perfect

This was our first time at ocean lakes (my husband and his family have stayed at pirate land for 30 years) this place was just perfect for 5 people, plenty of room, great location, everyone we met was so nice and friendly and the host was very helpful and quick with any questions we had. We will definitely rent this place again
