Potters Place Montville with Hinterland Views, Deck, Fireplace

Potters Place is a country-style cottage uniquely positioned in the heart of the Montville Historical center behind Memorial Close. With 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, suits up to a family of five. Situated on a very secluded, private acreage balanced on the escarpment’s edge (Razorback), Potters self-contained accommodation has breathtaking ocean and hinterland views directly in the middle of all the cafes, shops, art galleries and restaurants of Montville.

While Potters place does not offer the most modern house, but will offer a unique experience in a house full of character with history. On New Year’s Day 1897, ten Salvationists from Nambour rode to Razorback to lend support to local Salvationists, it was decided to open an outpost at Razorback ( where Potters Place is Currently). Wooden barracks were constructed at a cost of £28.00 using timber donated by a local sawmiller. This first Church in the district was used by all denominations. After a cyclone destroyed the barracks in 1903, services continued in the Hall which had just been completed. The block was purchased by George and Olive Carpenter in 1959 for £10.00. At the time it was a steep, tangled wilderness of lantana with wild sunflower completely covering generations of rubbish from the blacksmithy across the street. Today the home that the Carpenters built in 1974 is now called Potters Place and welcomes quests hoping share its history and beautiful location with everyone. The name Potters Place comes from the existing pottery business that existed several decades ago - remnants of funky pottery scattered around the property.

Perfect stay

We enjoyed 4 nights at Potters Place and wished we could have stayed longer. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. We loved the central location and enjoyed exploring all the unique shops and cafes in Montville The view from every window was stunning and we enjoyed sitting out on the huge deck. Communication with Zahra was easy and prompt.

What a view

We loved everything about our stay at Potters Place. Breakfast on the deck with an amazing view was a great way to start the day. There is so much to do locally, loved checking out the local galleries and so great waterfalls. The house is really well equipped and super comfy. We would love to come back.

Potters Place has a fantastic view with a huge balcony really nice house fully self-contained. I went there with my mother two brothers and a nephew for a family getaway, it was perfect. Absolutely brilliant place to visit. It’s right in town literally, it’s the only Residence in town. So you have no neighbours at night. Huge views did I say? Awesome.

Beautiful private property well equipped right in the heart of Montville. A wonderful view into the valley, makes for a lovely stay relaxing on the deck or by the fire as the day passes you by. Can't wait to return.

Old fashioned comfort

We had an amazing couple of days in Montville. Potter's Place suited us perfectly and most of that was down to the view. Simply stunning! As a sociable, cafe dog who loves a walk, our pup also had a fabulous time. She seems sad to be back home.

Perfect

The house was beautiful with a magnificent view of the valley. Being in the heart of Montville, we parked the car and didn't need to move it again until we left - access to restaurants and shops was within walking distance. Enjoyable stay and would definitely consider this home again.

MONTVILLE INDULGENCE

Comfortable stay at Potters Place on the edge of a spectacular view. All home comforts and crackling fire enhanced our Christmas in July celebrations. The Edge Restaurant, a few metres away served the best coffee and scones by another crackling fire. A Christmas atmosphere was enjoyed at The Montville Pub. Shopping seduces one to indulgent purchases It is a cosy comfort to return to Potters Place only steps away with all home comforts, enjoying an expansive view, sparkling wine and birds warbling before sunset.

This property was true to the booking. Lovely big veranda to enjoy the spectacular views with a fire pit to enjoy the night stars. Comfortable and clean inside It’s a hidden secret right on the steps of Montville.

Has an outstanding view. So convenient as it’s directly behind the Main Street. Completely private as it’s the only cottage. Beds were quite comfortable and sufficient warm bedding.

We loved Potter’s Place ❤️

Stunning views, comfy bed, clean and well-maintained. We had a lovely time at Potters Place. The stars were amazing, and it would’ve been great to have a couple of outdoor recliner chairs on the verandah for more comfortable viewing of the amazing surroundings. A beach umbrella would also come in handy as the deck is in full sun in the mornings. Hoping to visit again soon!

We had a great time the views are stunning , the weather was perfect and we really enjoyed the fire of a night . The dogs loved it to but not many walks for them as most was no dogs allowed . The town is so cute lots of little quirky cafes and shops we loved it and would stay again

Perfect spot convenient to the main street and in easy walking distance to all the great cafes - but completely private. STUNNING views enjoyed from the deck and living room which made it hard to leave and go exploring anyway.

Step out of the cottage & you are in the middle of Montville with so many lovely little places to eat & drink but inside is perfect for a relaxing & private getaway. The log fireplace is a wonderful touch!

A very special spot

Interesting house in quite an unexpected space gave us (my husband and I and my brother and sister in law a very comfortable base to have a few restful days together visiting. Great to heve enough interesting things close by that we were just able to walk from home with lots to see and explore - and to discover another side of Montville we didn't even know existed.

We both have a love for travel and hosting, and that's how we met 10 years ago. I Zahra was a tour guide and an interpreter and Brad was traveling around the world for 2.5 years through backpacking ad cycling. Since then we have tried to share our love for travel by either working in the tourism sector or hosting travelers from all different places. We started hosting guests at Potters place in July 2022. We hope we can offer a relaxing time with beautiful views to enjoy, in the heart of Montville township to our guests as we continuously work towards improving the guest experience.

In the center of Montville Village Historical Precinct yet secluded with privacy and wide northern views. Cafes, restaurants and shops are within a stone's throw. One of the first 5 blocks of land in Montville with Salvation Army ownership in the late 1800's from the region's earliest logging days and horseback riders for first congregations of views and cricket games next door with first nations in the Village Green.
