Summer days can be spent golfing, hiking the Mogollon Rim Trail, barbequing, or watching wildlife from the deck. While the winter months invite you to hit the slopes or snowshoe at Sunrise Park Resort and finish the action-packed day relaxing by the fire. Memories are just waiting to be made here at Deep Forest Lodge!

The coziest cabin escape

Loved, loved, loved! Fun, fun, fun! This cabin is so cute, peaceful, and clean. Everything is provided, bring food and clothes only. Game room, flat screens all over, cozy balcony fire place and comfy beds. I will definitely send this info to friends and definitely return.

Escaping the Valley Heat w/ Family

Great relaxing stay escaping the Valley Heat. Visited the Sunrise Ski Resort and took the chair lifts with our 3 young grandkids. Played a lot of games and cooked all meals at the rental. Great response to a few early concerns.

Planning Trip

Left the valley to spend three nights at this property with some friends to prepare for an upcoming event. The house provided the quietness, comfort and outdoor area that made our stay very enjoyable. Beautiful home and property - highly recommended.

What an enjoyable time we had relaxing in this beautiful place. It was very clean, comfortable and inviting. We had everything we needed and then some. There was extra coffee & tea and even snacks. This was a great place to unwind and chill out. I will book this place again!

Had so much fun we extended an extra night. Home was comfortably furnished, clean and spacious. Having the game room was perfect for fun family time for our non scheduled hours. We are golfers, so the convenience of walking out the back door over to the clubhouse for meal or golf was great. Enjoyed walking cart path every evening. Outside of golfing, we also enjoyed 2 days of horseback riding and seeing the Raptor show at the White Mountain Nature Center. Grandkids were visiting from CO and enjoyed splitting our time between Saddlebrooke and Pinetop. They want a repeat!

Great Property

This was our second stay at this property. House has been freshly renovated and very comfortable . Walk to the golf course. Game room is a bonus. Kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need. Management team is superb and easy to work with. We are already planning a 3rd return next summer.

Christmas Vacation

We loved that the house had Christmas lights and a Christmas tree inside. A wood burning fire place helped to create a warm and comfy atmosphere while we played games, cooked in and streamed our favorite Christmas movies. The kids loved the game room and there was enough space for uncle Eddie's to park his RV if he had decided to visit.

The best managed property

I cant say enough about the management and manager for this property. The kitchen is stocked like you would stock your own home and more. Very clean, accomadating and responsive. The manager sent us a text alerting us the EV charger wasnt charging and reboot the system. Now thats service!!

Could be better.

The location and house were great. The game room was awesome. There was a couple of issues though. The air conditioning system doesn’t work so it’s definitely not worth the price. Our family chose the property because of the gas fire pit and it was out of propane. I let the property manager know and was simply texted back thanks for letting me know. Day two still no propane. Definitely won’t stay again.

July 4th family fun weekend

We arrived July 3rd, 2 adults, 3 older teenagers and 2 grandparents, and departed July 7th. You could tell the home was recently remodeled and very clean. There was a welcome basket with snacks, a jar of bite sized candy, a big variety of coffee pods and condiments. The beds were very comfortable. The view from the back deck was a section of pine trees overlooking the 10th fairway. The best feature was the game room which was enjoyed by everyone. Luckily the home was air conditioned as outside temps reached 90*. Only a slight issue as there was no cable, only Roku TV. However you could download Netflix, Hulu, etc using your own account which we did. I would definitely recommend this home for a family getaway and would book another stay in the future.

Nice quiet retreat in the pines near the golf course

Property is located near the 10th tee of the Pinetop Lakes Golf Course. Although an older property, there have been numerous upgrades and renovations including the large kitchen, bathrooms, flooring and carpet throughout. The back deck has a nice view of the course, but needs refinishing. Perhaps that's a project that's coming. The living spaces, kitchen, dining, master bedroom and deck are all upstairs, so hauling things like ice chests, suitcases and groceries was a bit of a challenge. There appears to be an elevator in the unit, but it is not available to guests - can definitely see why it was needed. Kitchen was well stocked with just about anything you could want/need for an extended stay. Overall it was a pleasant stay. Game room would be fun for a family with children. Owner was responsive to questions and allowed us to check-in early which was nice. Would be a good place for young families.

Overall ...we had a wonderful stay at this property. A few exceptions. The bedding was unacceptable. The sheets on the king size bed were for a full size bed and so extremely thin . The pillowcases were too small for the pillows. They were replaced when we called and complained. The replacements fit...but were still very thin. Nice thick sheets and bedding should be a standard expected item. There was also a problem with ants by the front door. We enjoyed out stay and loved the location....just a few necessary upgrades and this would be a 5 star.

Thank you so much for letting us know about the bedding; you'll be happy to know that within a week of seeing this review we replaced all the sheets for every bed in the cabin. We also upgraded the bedding in two of the bedrooms to king beds each with new comforters. Unfortunately, the rain brings ants and we had quite the rainy season however we did address that issue immediately and are taking care of and monitoring the ants regularly. We look forward to you staying with us again!

Great qualities but filthy

This place has great potential; the game room is what attracted us the most. The bathrooms were clean; the bedding appeared clean; however, the house is filthy. The deck was completely covered, floor and furniture, with yellow something - we didn't know if it was toxic fumigating powder left over or what - so we called to see if they had finished cleaning. She said they had cleaned after the last guests a week prior. She asked if we would like for her to come check and we said yes please. She explained the yellow on the deck was from the pollinating trees-it would go on for another 2.5 weeks, and made no effort whatsoever to clean it. We asked if she had a blower we could use to clean it ourselves and she said no she hoses it down but she showed no interest in doing so herself. We had to clean the entire deck with a hose - including all cushions and pads for furniture, furniture itself and then the deck floor. The pollen did not appear again the entire week we were there. Inside cleaning we had to do before bringing our stuff in: mop kitchen; clean refrigerator freezer to have access to clean ice; vacuum all carpeted areas(lr/dr/bdrms/hallway) and carpet still filthy, needs shampooed; mop out game room flooring and clean up spills on games; fix and clean gas grill; we pay good $$$ for cleaning fee. We do not expect to have to clean upon arrival. VERY DISAPPOINTED. We had the heeby-jeebies all week...a first, have never had this happen before...at the least the cleaning fee should be refunded. Thankful we didn't have a crawling baby with us...

Hi Marva, we want our guests to arrive at a vacation home that is 100% ready for their stay, so we take the cleanliness of our properties seriously! We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following: - Although we do our best to keep the outdoor area clean, if there are a few days between guest check-out and the next check-in, it is certainly possible for Mother Nature to have an effect on the outdoor area once our cleaning crew has left. Your stay was during a high pollen time, so there was a small amount of yellow pollen on the deck at the time of your arrival, not "toxic powder." - Our cleaning crew responded and immediatly came to the property, as requested, and wiped the entire kitchen and living room down. - Unfortunately, significant damage was done to the interior of the home when you used a hose to wash down interior furniture and rugs in the garage. - The carpeting goes through regular deep cleans but there may be a few permanent stains from hosting guests and normal wear and tear. We have plans to replace this as soon as possible. - We use a professional cleaning company to ensure that the home is cleaned and sanitized between guests and we are confident that the home met our high cleanliness standards before your check-in. We were surprised to hear that you stayed for your full booking if you felt so uncomfortable in the home. Issues arise even when we are trying our best to do all we can to make sure each guest has the best possible stay. We always want to fix what we can if you have an issue. Nice weekend getaway

years of renting twice/year, the BEST one yet

My family has been getting out of the Phoenix heat twice a year for years now and this has been the best property we have found yet. The owners are kind and caring and contacted us before and after our stay, promptly. We didn't need to reach out for anything during the stay but there is also a local contact person to respond to any needs. If I need to give a one-phrase description about this house is " attention to detail". My whole family was amazed by the small things that the owners thought about. From the custom stickers on the toilet seats for complete sanitation to electric car charger on the outside wall and outlets with usb ports. The house is fully stocked with all that you need, including an instant pot and a kitchen ninja. I was so pleasantly surprised because most houses we have rented only have the necessities. There are labels on cabinets and equipment about things that you always ask yourself but never feel like going to the book to look for or simply are insignificant questions that pop in your head and nowhere to find answers. Yet, the family has thought about it all. Even the toaster is located in a cabinet with an indication sticker on the outside- isn't that always the one thing we all wonder early in the morning? The kitchen is equipped with an Alexa which played music for us during dinner or told us the upcoming weather for the day. The owners are in a process to update the house but we didn't feel it in any way, neither did we think that things needed updates. It is a great property and we will definitely be back! So excited to have found "our" place up in the mountains!
