Tranquil "Blue Cottage" close to Eco Point

"Blue Cottage" is a tranquil and characteristic Blue Mountain escape amongst the cool climate gardens. The Cottage is located in South Katoomba within short distance from Katoomba town centre, schools, restaurants, cafes, galleries and popular tourist destinations. It’s so close to Eco Point within 10 mins walk, yet keeping a decent “social distance” from the tourist norms. It’s another home away from your home, perfect for couples, kids and pets.

Neighbourhood description
We are on very good terms with our neighbours and we ask you to respect that relationship. Our pet policy . Our property is fully fenced. If you wish to bring your pet, please bring their bedding and food bowls, please notes that there is extra charge of $75dollar per pet per stay.

Getting around
There are plenty of off-Road parking on site. The house is only less 5 mins drive to Katoomba station. Under 1 and half hour from Sydney. less 10 mins drive to Leura shopping village and biggest Antique shop at Blackheath.

Winter is the most popular season in the mountains. Many people love fireplace and firewood. We have prepared reasonable amount of firewood for you to enjoy during the winter months from June to August. Based on our experience, the amount of firewood should be sufficient to get you start for your stay. If you need more firewood, you can easily buy them from the nearby petrol station. To protect our environment, please consume firewood responsibly.

For Summer, we have split air-conditioning system in the lounge and all of our bedrooms. You may use remote control to adjust temperature easily in the lounge and each room. The cottage has one queen bed for each bedroom . Base rate are up to 4 guests only

If you require an extra single rollaway bed set up in one of bedrooms, please let me know in advance. An extra $75 per night will apply.

Its was ok

Stayz says check in at 2pm. We got there at 2pm to find a few gardeners and cleaning staff preparing the property. I messaged the owner and he said that's incorrect, its 3pm but wouldn't let us check out late in compensation. The ad says bedroom 1 has a double and double futon but there was no double futon at all - owner offered a rollaway bed for an extra fee. The couch was a bit too dirty (old stains), no fire wood provided because it's not winter? For over 500 a night we should've at been allowed to leave later

Nice stay

A last minute booking to work on a property we own in the area. Couldn’t have been better. Easy to check in, no fuss, super clean and lovely bedding. Really nicely decorated and in a quiet pocket of Katoomba. Would happily stay again and think we probably will! Thanks to the hosts.

It's always a delight to stay at the Blue Cottage. We've been so many times it feels like a 2nd home. I had an accident while I was holidaying, end ended up in hospital until 4am, but the host was so lovely and responded to my text immediately to confirm the cottage was available to stay another night. It was a relief to know I could relax, and the extended stay has made me want to stay longer next time too!

Convenient, Cozy, and Thoughtfully Equipped Stay

We had a wonderful stay! The property is conveniently located near Echo Point and the town, making it an ideal base for exploring the area. The host thoughtfully provided firewood and kindling, which came in handy on a rainy and chilly summer evening. The space is perfectly suited for four guests, with comfortable furnishings and a dining table designed for that capacity. We appreciated the charming collection of art and furniture, and the small office desk was a bonus for remote work.

Absolutely lovely stay

Beautiful and clean property. Lovingly decorated and good amenities. Very comfortable beds. Really enjoyed staying here, my dog loved the back yard.

It was very bad

There is an extra charge for those with animals when renting But when we got home, there was dog hair everywhere. The house was said to be for 5 people, but they made one bed on the floor, it was very bad. And they took as much money from us as from the other bed. Consider these before renting.

Mountain run

My partner and I spent a wonderful weekend at the cottage. I ran the UTMB 22km trail run on the Friday and spent the remainder of the weekend relaxing in the cottage and enjoying the local area. The cottage is extremely comfortable and our chocolate Labrador enjoyed it immensely as well.

Lovely cottage only suitable for 4 guests

Our time spent at the Blue Cottage started disappointing. The online listing said suitable for 5 guests- 2 bedrooms - one with a queen bed, and the other with a queen bed and a sofa bed. There was not a sofa bed, nor a towel or bedding for the 5th person. I contacted Wendy about extra towel and bedding and was told that 'extra bedding is usually requested by guests'. Her husband dropped off extra bedding and a towel late that evening, for which there was no bed to use the bedding on. I booked a cottage for 5 people, and it was listed as suitable for 5 people. We were also asked if we could meet with the NBN crew who were doing maintenance during our stay. They needed someone to meet them anytime between 8-12. Upon the NBN mans arrival, he told me I would need to be present for about. I told him I was unwilling to do that. It turned out that I was unable to meet him regardless as I was not able to give permission as I was not the property owner. The owners then met the NBN man at the property. Whilst the start of our stay was disappointing, the overall experience was positive.

A cosy place you won’t want to leave

I holiday at this cottage twice a year, and it’s always outstanding. In summer there’s outdoor seating and a large umbrella on the deck, and a huge backyard with so many beautiful flowers I’ve never seen living in Sydney. In Autumn, there’s nothing better than making dinner in the full size kitchen, then curling up on the soft couch, draped in one of the blankets available at the cottage, and watching the fire. And the autumn leaves at the cottage, and all over the Blue Mountains are breathtaking! The location is very convenient - the main street of Katoomba is only a few minutes away, and it takes no time to get to Leura. Despite that, the street is so quiet. Other than the birds, there’s wonderful silence. Wendy and Wayne are lovely, and very responsive to contact. I can’t recommend this cottage highly enough.

This was my 2nd time staying here. It’s such a beautiful cottage. The furniture and decor are gorgeous, and it’s such a relaxing place to stay. The rooms are large, and there’s a huge sofa to relax. Having 2 bathrooms is great too. There are wonderful plants filling the huge backyard, many of which I’ve never seen before. I highly recommend staying at the Tranquil Blue Cottage.

Blue Cottage

The overall standard was ok but needs some tweaking. The owner was very responsive and responded to the lack of basic essentials at the property. The house needs a really good clean. Some things as have been noted by me and given to the owner. drain smell in the bathroom,night light on entry and bathroom has a small step that could be dangerous for an old person. garden needed cutting ect and some items not there, kitchen towel, coffee,tea selection milk, as I have said I paid a 5 Star price expecting a 5 star accommodation. I'm sure this will be sorted.

I booked a 3 night winter getaway with my 16yo daughter, her friend and our dog. The girls were instantly smitten with the cottage and it's setting and had given it 5 star rating by the end of the trip! Gorgeous, character-filled home in a peaceful and convenient location. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect winter getaway

Had a wonderful stay with my partner and our dog . House was well equipped and clean upon arrival. Generous light coming through during the day and heavy curtains were appreciated for those cold evenings. We couldn’t fault the property - fully fenced property perfect for those dogs that like to escape, plenty of heating available (fireplace, floor vents in all rooms that allow central heating to quickly heat the home), beds and pillows comfortable, nespresso machine available, kitchen fit our with more than enough utensils, glasses and crockery and our favourite, a beautiful porch that gets flooded with sun !! Highly recommend for a weekend away.

Such a gorgeous cottage!! The interior is absolutely stunning, and the garden and yard are beautiful. So many different flowers - all stunning!! Only a few minutes drive to the centre of Katoomba for groceries, and a short drive to the 3 sisters and Leura. Will absolutely stay again.

Owners quote “We didn’t have the manpower to do a proper cleaning job”

The owners promote their deep cleaning standards “sterilising all surface, light switches” etc. When bringing up concerns with the owner after noticing every wine glass in the cupboard was smudged with finger marks, a used tissue found beside the bed they replied saying “We didn't have enough manpower during the public holiday to do a proper cleaning job in between 2 groups of guests” after I pointed out what they’d just admitted they then back tracked and proceeded to say that after talking to their “cleaners” they can’t be sure that it wasn’t from our stay… two of us, smudging 10-15 glasses?? Early on in our stay we noticed that the yard had been neglected, dead pot plants, tall weeds, broken outdoor umbrella. One of the reasons we chose this house was because they allowed pets. What they didn’t mention was the back fence had partially collapsed onto an adjoining property that had no fence and roads on 2 sides. So the property border is not secure. We were happy to pay a peak season price but expected a high standard in both cleaning and comfort. No personal welcoming touch’s on arrival, very aloof manner with communication after we checked in. We left a day early. Very disappointed!

"Blue Cottage" close to Echo Point

We loved staying at Blue Cottage - close to everything (notably great walks, the 3 Sisters, lookouts, the sky cable car and many great fine dining restaurants) but also a lovely quiet neighbourhood. Wayne and Wendy have the cottage equipped with everything needed. We would readily stay there again. Highly recommended!

The Charming renovated cottage has an abundance of features, from the Gorgeous mudroom to Original fireplace in the dining room. The fresh bright interiors really enhance the stained glass windows, which blend perfectly with decorative cornice.

My favorite place about this property will be study area overlook garden.
