Enjoy all that Sanibel Island has to offer at the West End Paradise. Our charming cottage style accommodations offer a serene and tropical setting with mature foliage, pond with birds and turtles and we're just a short walk to the private Tradewinds beach. Unit "Sanddollar 7" is a hotel style room with a king sized bed, microwave, mini-fridge and coffee maker. There is a full bathroom in the room as well.  Need more room? ... add unit "Fish 6" for an additional bedroom with queen sized bed, full bathroom, living/dining areas, full kitchen and screened lanai. All of our units come with beach towels, access to the charcoal bbq grill, outdoor seating, high speed wireless internet, cable TV and air conditioning for those tropical Island summers. This unit is perfect for a couple wanting to enjoy a quick Island getaway.  Only one parking space per unit.

*Important Note: This rental does not include beach chairs or umbrellas. Instead, we’ve partnered with VayKLife to provide you with a credit toward beach essentials like chairs, umbrellas, coolers, wagons, and more—so you can pack light and still enjoy everything you need for a perfect day at the beach. While some of our homes may have beach gear on-site, availability varies, and we cannot guarantee specific items will be provided. With VayKLife, you get to choose exactly what you need, and they’ll deliver it right to your door for added convenience. Your booking confirmation includes a link to VayKLife’s site, where you can browse their full selection and easily redeem your credit. It’s just one of the ways we help make your stay as seamless and enjoyable as possible.

Great location. Easy parking. Comfortable bed. Nice shower and bathroom. Small unit but had a little refrigerator, microwave and utensils for our short stay. Parking pass for easy beach access.

Very clean, updated space. Had some trouble getting in the unit. The code doesn’t work until the check-in time, which is fine but it still didn’t work for us until 20 mins later. However the host was easy to get ahold of to get us in the unit. Having a parking pass for the neighborhood beach lot was a huge perk for us. We utilized the credit to get chairs and an umbrella, paid the pricey delivery fee, then discovered our until had chairs and an umbrella in the closet. I could’ve saved the 35 for delivery and fees if I had known the equipment I needed was provided. Overall, the until is clean, the AC is very cold, and this is a perfect, no frills place to stay for a few nights. I wouldn’t recommend for a long term stay.

We are glad to hear that you found the unit very clean, updated, and that the cold AC and neighborhood beach parking pass made for a perfect few nights on the island. We do want to sincerely apologize for the initial hiccups with your arrival and the gear. While our smart locks are automated to activate right at check-in time, a 20-minute delay is definitely not the seamless welcome we aim for, and we are glad we could answer quickly to get you inside. We also completely understand your frustration regarding the beach equipment. While the complimentary gear credit is a great perk for renting larger items like bikes or paddleboards, we want to make sure guests know exactly what is already waiting for them inside the property. We will update our welcome communication to clarify that standard beach chairs and an umbrella are already stocked in the closet so future guests can save on those delivery fees! Thank you again for your helpful feedback and for choosing to stay with us. We are glad it served as a great short-term escape, and we would love to host you again for another beach getaway!

Comfortable bed, clean room, but beware... thin walls. We heard our next door neighbors throughout the night. Would recommend bringing ear plugs. We loved the cute boutique property & location. Paid for vaykgear, but our room came with exactly what we ordered/paid for in the closet...would have been nice to know. Bring your own coffee, tea, cream, filters, FYI.

The accommodations were new and modern. The space was small but had everything you need. The location was right on the island near the water with access to the beach. The only bad thing was the TV. No cable!!! I would stay there again

This little cottage like room was perfect for my solo trip to Sanibel/Captiva. The space was very clean and the vibe was great. Evenings were quiet, the in unit refrigerator/freezer worked well and I had plenty of extra towels ect available. The neighborhood seemed friendly as people waved while I was out for walks. The private beach was just a short walk! (parking space was available). The beach was peaceful and I was able to collect many shells. I would stay again on my next visit!

Very clean. Easy check in and out process. Nice quiet neighborhood. The neighborhood beach was closed due to hurricane damage still, but this rental is very close to public beach accesses that are open. You also get a beach gear rental credit with your stay, which is handy for those flying in without beach gear.

Needs more attention to detail

I liked the location and the amenities like bikes and beach access, but the room had some issues. The bed pillows had unpleasant odors when we arrived. This was corrected upon request. The electronic door lock was finicky and on the last day, we were locked out an hour early by management changing the code too soon.

Our apologies as everything is automated in terms of the door code. Right at 10am it will disable your code. We try our best to make sure everything is as perfect as possible, however, if something needs tending, we do our best to make sure that's rectified right away.

Tiny

Not only is this unit much smaller than I expected, but it had no kitchen or even an armchair (just a director's chair and a tiny folding table should you want to eat). Generally speaking these kinds of cottages are hard to keep dry in this climate (as compared with a modern house or a hotel), so the general feeling is one of being cramped and clammy. That's not to say it wasn't decently equipped - and the shower was clean. For bargain hunters only.

It's so disappointing to receive such a review for nothing other than the fact that you may have booked the wrong unit. We include several high quality photos of the entire room, an accurate description and are always available if you ever have questions. While there certainly are modern and luxurious accommodations on Sanibel, we provide a clean, comfortable place that can evoke the memories of how the Island used to be. A great place to rest and relax while you venture out on the bikes to explore the over 20 miles of bike paths, over 10 miles of shell strewn beaches, the wildlife and so much more. I would advise that you look for a Ritz Carlton or something more your speed next time. Leaving such a review is completely disheartening to our agency, our entire team that works so hard to earn five star reviews and frankly our Island that does its best to not be the modern sky scrapers you may find nearly everywhere else up and down the beaches.
