This beauty of a classic 30s Bach has bright, sunny, coastal views & plenty of character.
Recently renovated downstairs, kitchen areas and rooms also.

Grab a kayak, clamber down a few steps straight onto the beach across the road, then relax and unwind on the deck to watch the magic sunsets..

This cosy little home is has all the basics for a nice getaway plus newly renovated kitchen and big heatpump..

Take your pick of sea-breezes on open front deck, expansive views from lounge/dining, or quiet private rear garden area with retro picnic table.

Approx 5 minutes from Onerahi shops, 15mins from CBD and 20 minute drive to popular surf beach 'ocean beach' or 10-15 min drive to two of the top DOC day walks: Mt Manaia and Busby head.

The advertised price is for a couple and clean linen in one room with either a double or queen bed. Additional +$25 per additional booked guest to cover additional associated costs. Undisclosed guests $50/ea. Please enquire / check if needing multiple or large vehicle parking. Security Camera at the entrance FYI. Thank you.

Two downstairs rooms with double beds (the larger one has a fraction lower ceiling and single bed also),
Queen bed in the upstairs room. Open plan kitchen and living upstairs. Bathroom + separate toilet downstairs.

The couch in nook can fold out into a bed if extra guests needed please advise.

Please bring some tennis balls as there's an honesty box donation if you'd like to play at the court across the road (4x basic racquets avail). A Paddle Board and double kayak are also avail - bring life jackets if you feel you'd need them..

The oven was very dirty and in poor condition. Broken seals and the thermostat didn't work. Tryed the BBQ to find it equally dirty . It took 30 minutes to clean it enough to use . There was a load of washing still drying in the dryer so i guess we would have had to sort that out if we wanted to use the dryer. The washing machine was in a poor state as well . Love the veiw but the pictures we saw didnt match what we got . This place needs some love .

Very nice bach

We had a very nice time at the bach. All good, but the final bit of the driveway is a bit dodgy so if you have a sports car or similar you would struggle to get the car to the property.

A few surprises

The view was outstanding and the indoor/outdoor living flow was perfect for having a family Christmas. Upstairs has been nicely refurbished and is a great space. 2 Bedrooms and bathroom (separate toilet) are downstaits with a third bedroom upstairs. The downstairs is much more bachy in style: the real deal. Did feel the property needs a little more info on the profile as the driveway is very rough and not suitable for low cars ( take your 4x4!) And the stairs inside are quite steep and goes around a corner, it's challenging if you're not able bodied (or with young children) . We only received this info the day before travel which caused major stress with my elderly disabled Mum who was traveling with us. Overall, so many positives, but a little more info needed before booking.

Great Getaway

Easy place to rest and relax as well as explore the beauty of the area. Kitchen is well fit for purpose and stocked with all needed tools to self cater.

Tidy and affordable bach

The property is clean and well equipped. It is nice coming to a place with clean linen at no extra cost. The huge drawcard is the amazing view of the harbour. Accessibility is probably the only minus but you are given clear details about how to find it and that the driveway is rough in parts. Overall I was thankful for the stay at such a reasonable rate.

Out of the way. Difficult access. Tough check in - especially of you arrive at night. Beach far too rocky even for walking.

Wonderful stay with stunning views!

The property was perfect for a relaxing stay in lovely surroundings. The house was well-equipped with everything you could want and the location was great for going up Mount Manaia and Mount Aubrey as well as visiting Whangerei. The view from the terrace was stunning!

Little paradise!

Our stay was unusual.. We experienced a cyclone but we were so grateful to stay in Jeremy’s bach! It is a little pierce of paradise on the Whangarei Heads ed with view on the bay, water just behind the road and beautiful sunsets from the deck. We had to stay inside for 3 days due to the storm and the bach was great for that it has everything from washing machine to TV to enjoyable space (lots of room and big living room)! And it is strongly built (-; we kept our roof and everything attached! I highly recommend this property. The big + is Jeremy who was a thoughtful and very nice host, easily reachable! Thanks for all!

Relaxing and quaint beach bach with stunning views

From the minute I arrived I was impressed with this Bach. Decorated and set up with a beach theme and unique features, every nook and cranny offered a pleasing find. Fresh, clean and comfortable this Bach offers everything you could want for a relaxing beach getaway at a reasonable rate. I particularly enjoyed the bath and the ever changing view out of most of the windows, the proximity to a beautiful bay and the comfy bed we chose out of the three bedrooms available. Jeremy was easy to contact when I had questions and was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be coming back to stay here again.

Cute Kiwiana Bach with Great Views

What a wonderful find! This traditional kiwi bach brought back memories of happy childhood summer holidays. The decor was beachy and had a great vibe. We were actually in Whangarie on business and brought our grown up kids too (19 - 24 years) so such a lovely place to come home to after a long day. Close to the city yet far enough away that we felt like we were on holiday. Great beaches near by and across the road a beach that was wonderful for a dip at high tide. We were very pleasantly surprised to find that upstairs had an air conditioning unit which was very welcome in the evening when we went to bed after a hot day. A large screen T.V, well equipped kitchen, bar b q on the sea view deck and all the creature comforts you would expect for a beach house. The beds were comfortable and slept 6 easily without getting on top of one another. The only downside was that the house next door was a bit unloved when you come down the back entrance driveway and the surrounding area needed a bit of upkeep. The position however made up for it. Fantastic memories were made at this cute bach! Simple yet everything you need if you don't want an impersonal luxury holiday home that you would of course pay the big bucks for. Happy customer and would highly recommend.

Home away from home.

Our family had a awesome time at this quirky, homely warm batch. The driveways a bit hard to find at first but the neighbors are friendly as and pointed us in the right direction. The house has everything you need to kick back and enjoy your holiday. Close to all the fun attractions Whangrei has to offer like the adventure forest (Do this it's off the charts massive fun for all ages) & the adrenalin water park (another all day must do for all ages & fitness levels) & just up the road (like 2 mins) from the house is a cool cafe & adventure park that has giant off road scooters & bike tracks. The main Onerahi shopping center is handy as just 5mins down the road. But the real gem is the harbour good swimming at high tide (bring your rock shoes as theres loads of oyster shells that will cut your feet). We were grateful to have the use of two sup boards that came with the batch (kids woke up suping & went to sleep swimming in the dark). Found some oysters, clams & pipi around the place and mean little fishing spots all over (the pilchard was slaying). The batch was clean, comfy beds & set out to enjoy the views. Sorrounded by some bush you don't really notice your neighbors (because your above them all) & the bird song in the early morning was meke!. Not much section but that didn't worry us because you'll just live at the beach or on the verandah sipping some cold ones. Wouldn't recommend for elderly or people with young children as the section (steep back section & unfenced front), steep stairs to beach & down stairs bathroom might be a challenge. All in all a great pad to kick back & relax but close enough to get out there and get amongst it!!! We'll be back for sure. Thanks Jeremy for the hospitality & prompt replies.
