Our family of 5 loved staying here! Lots of space to spread out and the cabin had everything we needed. Our teenagers loved the game room. We loved the location- close to the National Park and stores. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful cabin outside Gatlinburg

This cabin was perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teen boys). The cabin was a short 5 min drive from downtown Gatlinburg. The boys took full advantage of cooling off from the blistering heat in the game room. We truly enjoyed our stay on this property.

Sights and game room

The property has amazing sights. It is beautiful at night and during the day to sit on the porch. The whole family had a blast in the game room. Highly recommend!

Such a great place

Loved everything. Lovely Cabin with gorgeous views! The only way i wouldn't recommend this cabin is if you have someone who's confined to a wheel chair or has trouble with steps. There are alot of them! If you don't have those issues, its PERFECT!! Our family LOVED this cabin! We WILL rent again!

Beautiful cabin and very spacious, really nice views and good location. We all enjoyed the game room, and seen a small bear around the cabin. The only thing that bothered us there was a cabin really close to us, and if you are planning to cook bring your own pots and nonstick pans. But anyway we recommend this cabin.

This property looked very promising. My family and I were very excited to stay for a week. We arrived late in the evening and were looking forward to getting to sleep. We set down our bags, emptied the car and getting ready to settle in. That’s when my wife moved one of the decorative pillows and noticed a bug.She moved another pillow and there were more bugs. These were bed bugs. We even used Google lens to verify. We pulled back the sheets and yep, more bugs, trails, blood and such. We immediately notified the host and got no response. We packed up, left and got hotel rooms for the night. The next day, the host reached out, said they’d send their “team” over to inspect the house. They said their team did not find any bugs, they sprayed everything and changed the sheets. I demanded a cancellation and refund and they refused. They suggested we go back, find more bugs, take pictures, and capture some for their review! Guess what, we did. Even with all the evidence we gave them, they refused to cancel our reservation and refund our money. We are still working with VRBO to get a refund, but the host is ignoring them too now. This host knows this property is infested. My family and I gave them more than enough evidence to support it. We never stayed one night there, there was nothing to clean after us and they refuse to refund our money even though they are out nothing. The most disturbing part is they will rent to someone else, knowing this and VRBO is allowing it.

Stairway to heaven

We had a great stay, we seen a mama bear and her 2 cubs the night we got there they had gotten in the car, door left opened lucky nothing but paw prints lol, the cabin was nice but they need to change the carpet in the bedrooms and the rugs were pretty gross i wore sock the entire time overall great place great location!!

Could not have been happier

Wonderful property. Lots of privacy, but very conveniently located. The kids loved it all and really played a ton. Game room was amazing and we played lots of cards too. Spent late night tellimg stories in the hot tub. Bears showed up one morning making this stay perfect.

Steps steps steps!

If you don’t like steps this might not be the cabin for you, but once you reach the summit, those 52 steps are well worth the climb! Very clean/maintained cabin.

Only reason I did not give 5 stars was a broken microwave, a fussy dishwasher that leaked, lack of kitchen spices or even salt and pepper. But overall an excellent family Home.

The property has a little of everything for everybody. From views for individuals who want quiet, games for teenagers, bedrooms on different floors to give privacy and space. The cabin is only few minutes from the stripe and surrounded by nature and animals. Loved it!

Great place to stay

The cabin met all of our expectations and checked all of the boxes that we wanted in a cabin rental. Loved it inside and out. Only one hiccup on the trip was I didn’t get the door code the day of arrival. But eventually received it. Oh, if you want to see bears on your trip, the was the cabin for it. Saw them the moment we arrived. We will be back at this location in the future.

Girls weekend away

My friends and I used this property for a girls’ weekend away- we played games, watched movies, enjoyed the hot tub and cooked many meals in- we were a party of 4 and had plenty of space with the property- we made do with the small kitchen and only have a small complaint that the kitchen pans need replacing as many stuck (or provide Non stick spray or more dish soap). We loved the instructions throughout the place and the views were spectacular including the black bear on our last morning. Definitely would recommend to others!

Beautiful property. A LOT of stairs to get in. No advance notice that there was a security system and no security code given to us, EXTREMELY frustrating to start vacation will alarms and a visit from the police !!!!!!!!

Get away from it all

This property was stunning and perfect for our family gathering. The ONLY downfall is the steps to get up to the cabin. It was a challenge for my elderly parents. Other than the stairs everything was wonderful. On the 1st night we had a bear on the second floor balcony looking in. That was kind of scary but really cool at the same time. We saw 11 bears around the cabin. We saw a momma and 4 cubs. The place was super clean. I would highly recommend this place for people with good knees lol.

Family Time "Away From it All"

Great cabin for the family with fabulous views! And oh the wildlife...we saw bears every day and we got to see owls too! We were able to relax and enjoy the view from any of the three decks, we spent a lot of time out there when we were at the cabin. A great game room on the third floor - that was enjoyed by all. We did most of our meals there and were pleasantly surprised to see how well stocked the kitchen was with cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc. I would give this a five star rating except for two of the beds that were uncomfortable and are in need of replacing and the very well worn living room furniture on the second floor that is not the most comfortable and is ready to be replaced. Other than that it is a fabulous cabin "away from it all".

Amazing Weekend!

We rented this cabin for a girls chill weekend and it was perfect! 8 of us got together from 4 different states. The first full day we were there it was cold and rainy so the game room was perfect for us! Between the games the cabin supplied and some that we brought it was a day full of laughter. The second day we went into town to explore. There are a lot of cute little shops and things to do in town. We didn't see any bears near the house but did see some driving around in the trees. The stairs are quite the hike but it was well worth the amazing views from each level. Only down side is that the kitchen is a little small. We had a hard time getting our meal cooked through the middle using the oven. Seemed like burned was going on in the middle. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a great weekend in the mountains. I would love to go back when there is snow. I'm from Texas and we don't get that here!

A lot of stairs and noisy

Pros: the home is beautiful, clean and fun. Not too far from town which was a plus for us. A lot of balconys and space for everyone. The jetted tubs are great Cons: there’s a ALOT of stairs from parking to entry which was a real pain for unloading and loading. It’s noisy inside. You here every step, door or drawer movement, water draining, you name it. The sounds just bounces everywhere. Also the hot tub does t get really hot. It’s ok just not great and the kitchen is rather small. It would also be nice if checkout time was 11AM instead of 10AM. The extra hour would have been great for the kids to sleep in. One last downfall is the Mrs Packman arcade game not working. My girls were really really disappointed

Gorgeous home!

We really enjoyed our stay here! Game room was lots of fun, and we were traveling with adult children, so having lots of bedrooms and bathrooms was great. We even saw bears! They left paw prints on our car windows twice, apparently looking for food, so be sure you don’t leave food in your car! As others have mentioned, there are 51 stairs to get to the front door, so be sure you are prepared for that. There is a nice grocery store about five minutes away where we bought coffee and breakfast items. The kitchen is well equipped with dishes and cookware, but there is no coffee or staples of any kind, so you’ll need to bring those. Also, make sure you deactivate the alarm immediately upon entering, because you have only a few seconds to do so. We were a moment too slow one evening, and the police showed up in short order, but at least they were friendly. We loved sitting on the porches and looking out over the beautiful mountains, enjoying the gorgeous views. We felt far away from everything, but it took only a few minutes to get into Gatlinburg and Great Smoky Mountain National Park, which was absolutely gorgeous. It was a very special place to stay.

Incredible Bear Experience

We had a rough time getting comfortable during our stay at Away From It All. The second floor gets VERY hot and the bed is hard. Outside temps were cool during our stay. After night three we slept with the windows open and finally got some relief from the heat. We didn’t call about this because we noticed the bedroom didn’t have a vent or air return. It’s just a poor design flaw. The kitchen is also located on the second floor so we opted to eat out or use the crockpot to prevent turning the oven on and adding warmth. Other than that the cabin was wonderful. We greatly enjoyed the time spent in the game room, the hot tub and the back porches. The trek up the stairs was worth it. On our first night’s stay we had a Momma Bear & her three cubs wander up into the yard and spend about 45min with us. The cubs played, climbed trees and nursed. This encounter did make us more aware of our surroundings as we left and arrived at the cabin. Brush up on what to do in case of an encounter if you stay here.
