Start your day with a stunning sunrise over the lake while you enjoy your morning coffee at The Little Lake House! Sitting on the peaceful shores of Spring Lake, this cozy spot is the perfect escape for you and your family to unwind and soak up nature. We've poured a lot of love into renovating it with a modern coastal vibe and plenty of little luxuries to make it feel like a home away from home.

Welcome to The Little Lake House, a cozy 1,000 sq. ft. cabin designed for relaxing getaways! This charming retreat features two bedrooms and one bathroom, perfect for a family or small group. The primary bedroom boasts a luxurious king-sized bed, while the second bedroom has a fun single-over-double bunk bed—great for kids or extra guests. The cabin’s full kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances and all the essentials for cooking up delicious meals. In the living room, you’ll find a comfy sectional, a cozy reading chair, and an office nook with a desktop and chair for those who need to check in with work.

The main area is flooded with natural light from large picture windows that offer stunning views of the lake. Step outside to enjoy the backyard firepit, perfect for roasting marshmallows under the stars. The property also features nearby hiking trails, ideal for nature lovers and dog walkers. With free WiFi, a Smart TV, books, and board games, there’s something for everyone to enjoy indoors, too. Plus, the cabin is stocked with crisp white bedding, fluffy towels, and bathrobes for a touch of luxury. Located just 10 minutes from Stony Plain and 30 minutes from Edmonton, this little escape offers the perfect mix of seclusion and convenience.

IMPORTANT NOTES

• we allow ONE dog (NO cats) under 50 lbs per stay for an additional $50/stay - please disclose this upon booking so that we can have our pet amenities ready for you & charge our pet fee to cover our extra cleaning costs; a signed pet waiver will be required before your stay. No cats allowed.
• maximum 5 registered guests are allowed on the property at any time. We do not allow unregistered guests or parties of any kind.
• you can swim, paddleboard & kayak in Spring Lake in the summer months, BUT with the water levels being unpredictable it can sometimes be hard to get out off the dock. The shore can be very muddy as Spring Lake maintains natural shorelines.
• there is a 12km/hr speed limit on the lake and the shore has to remain natural (it has reeds & mud) to protect our wildlife
• we have a floating dock. Please be careful walking on it as it has some movement!
• the back yard is expansive, but note that it is NOT fenced at this time
• please ensure you are monitoring pets and children at all times lakeside
• we have a security camera at the front of the property

We enjoyed a beautiful and quiet weekend getaway. The view was spectacular, the house was clean, expertly decorated with a great ambiance for relaxation. We especially enjoyed the added touches for the dog (cleaning blanket, bed, doggie bags) and the added amenities (well stocked coffee/tea bar, wine and snacks on arrival, great smelling soaps). Thank you for the peaceful retreat!

This was a great place to stay. It was redone inside beautifully. Honestly 10 stars. With it having direct lake access, it would’ve been nice if paddleboards, kayaks and such were available so we could enjoy the water. It also would’ve been great if there was a BBQ on the back deck.

Ladies weekend getaway

Modern and cozy home with a spacious open concept living and kitchen area. Perfect for 5 people for movies, games and making meals together in the kitchen. The cozy sofa was a hit, the bathroom and bedrooms very welcoming at first sight. This has been the best cabin experience and look forward to coming out again for a close to home and reasonably affordable getaway. The hosts are fabulous and quick to respond to any questions and concerns. Thank you Little Lake House!!!

Birdwatchers Paradise!

The cabin is cozy,very well appointed and very clean. We had a nice stay, albeit short due to illness. Don't forget your binoculars when coming here as the bird life is plentiful!! Even a muskrat lodge off to the side of the dock.

Nice getaway

Close getaway in nature

Paradise in Alberta

We had an incredible week here at the Little Lake House. The pictures you see online are exactly what you walk into. The weather was perfect. We enjoyed sitting on the deck each morning looking at the lake. Having Kayaks was great. The only thing I would say is I wish the lawn had been freshly cut, the mosquitos were so bad, we would walk through the grass and stir them up and get eaten alive. But it was still an amazing stay. Sean and Christina went over and above to welcome us, they even checked in to make sure everything was good, we will definitely tell our friends about this little hidden gem, and we will be back. Thank you for everything. First time in a long time we just relaxed.

Amazing picture windows views

I stayed from June 16th to June 28th by myself to visit family living close by. I took my grandson for long walks almost every day. Very safe and peaceful area. Many walking trails and constant birdsong. Absolutely loved the house, clean, classy, cozy and relaxing :-)

Amazing!

From start to finish, this was an amazing rental experience. The property is clean, well furnished, and has everything we were looking for. The attention to detail from the hosts is notable, as they even provided for our dog (a cozy dog bed, poop bags, dog towels, treats)! We loved our stay here and hope to be able to visit again in the future. It was so cozy and comfortable!

Another fantastic stay

We had a wonderful time on our annual New Years trip to the little lake house! We enjoyed this visit without the kiddos but it’s been fantastic for us as a couple and as a family. We can’t wait to visit again, maybe a summer trip!

Little Lake House

Enjoyed another wonderful weekend at The Little Lake House. It is a beautiful lake cottage with all you need for a peaceful and relaxing weekend. All the little details have been taken care of so that you can enjoy the spectacular views and relax in the comfortable cottage. My girlfriends enjoyed being first time guests and were so impressed with the overall feel and ambiance of the cottage. We were excited to see a moose in the neighborhood as well. The fall foliage was amazing and the lake views were stunning. Thanks again to Sean and Christina for a wonderful weekend.

A Perfect Getaway

We loved every minute at the Little Lake house. We had everything we needed to make our stay easy and enjoyable. Paddlling on the lake was enjoyed by all, and we were only a short drive from many other activities for the kids. The property was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated - it was a perfect getaway.

You’ve heard the saying “opposites attract”, right? Well, that’s us. Sean is a lover of challenging construction work, video games and fast cars. Christina likes the slower stuff: home design, photography and music. Sean is a general contractor and electrician by trade, and Christina is a home stylist & content creator at TheDIYMommy.com.

Have you ever fallen in love with a place the moment you stepped foot on it?

That’s how we felt when we found the dilapidated little cabin we now know as the Little Lake House. The cabin was in the most beautiful location on the shores of serene Spring Lake, but it needed some care. In October 2020, we purchased the property, and shortly thereafter demolition began!

To say this renovation was a challenge is an understatement. We gutted the home right down to the studs so that we could properly insulate it and make it safe and cozy for us and our guests to enjoy.

We love this little property and have already created many precious memories with our children here. From paddleboarding together to working as a family to create a welcoming retreat, we’ve come to love this little lake house even more.

We can’t wait to share it with you.

We want the Little Lake House to bring peace to every individual that enters its doors. We want you to fall in love with this little property just like we did. At the cabin, we hope you will find:
