Located in the heart of Russell, Takapu cottage features private balconies and separate lounge and dining area. Facilities include a heated swimming pool, spa pool and barbecue area. Takapu Cottage is located just 300 m from Russell Beach and the wharf for ferry services to Paihia. Flagstaff Hill is 800 m away. It is less than 5 minutes’ walk to Russell Museum. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. On-site parking is provided for cars and boats.

Takapu Cottage is in the heart of the tranquil historic town of Russell, well-known for being the birthplace of the Treaty of Waitangi.
Guest access:
When staying with us at Takapu Cottage you will have full access to the cottage, pool, spa pool & BBQ area. There are a few locked cupboards in the cottage containing cleaning products, these are accessed by our cleaner.

pool and walkable to town

We enjoyed a great several days at russell cottage. Good for extended family. Enjoyed the easy walk to town and the water, nice pool and spa too. Very clean.

Best Russell Cottage to date

We stayed for two nights in May, a group of four couples. We have stayed in various Russell Cottages on previous occasions. This was by far the best kept cottage yet. All cottages are very similar with same layouts, furnishing etc. This cottage was very well stocked with kitchen utensils/cookware/crockery/glasses/cups and a great Nespresso coffee machine. There were lovely pieces of artwork and a homely feel to the cottage. We were able to make use of the communal BBQ (which was spotlessly clean). The pool was warm and we were able to take a swim. The spa pool has been recently replaced and was fab. The grounds are well kept. Would definitely recommend staying here if you get the chance.
