Gingerland Ranch was a good stay for our group! The house had plenty of space and all the essentials we needed. Feeding the animals was such a fun and memorable bonus that everyone loved. The host was very responsive and easy to communicate with, which made everything smooth. The home could use a few touch-ups, especially with cleanliness on the walls, and the entrance sign is a bit worn, so a few people passed it at night. Still, it was conveniently close to the venue we were going to and overall a comfortable, enjoyable stay.

Interesting old house but no internet

It's a creaky, quirky old house with character. However the Internet was down and I texted the property manager and she said she would contact someone but no one came and she didn't follow up, so we spent all weekend using our phones as hotspots. Also, the listing showed a fun barn that we wanted to play in, but it was posted as off limits,.

Our stay had both positives and drawbacks. The property is spacious, quiet, and great for kids or pets. The donkeys and goats were a big hit. The beds were clean, and the owners were accommodating with a later checkout. However, the home itself felt unkempt, though we acknowledge it is a ranch home. The kitchen cabinets were grimy and falling apart, and essential supplies like dish soap were missing. Overall our stay was fine and it’s a great place to sleep a lot of people. I would recommend a deep clean in the kitchen space and more kitchen supplies available.

True Farm House!

House is big and in a beautiful location. Very basic kitchen supplies. If you plan on cooking, bring everything you will need. Definitely a farm house, lots of bugs and spiders overall decently cleaned though. If you have kids, make sure they wear closed toe shoes when outside. Overall, great rustic stay and would take my family back.

Great stay

It was wonderful. We loved it only down sides were, no TVs in bedrooms, no broom to sweep up with and needed dish towels in kitchen. There was only a sponge so it was kinda hard to clean the kitchen the way i would have liked but otherwise we had a wonderful time. Beds were a lil firm for us too but to each their own!

Great spot

I really enjoyed the location, being able to easily access Austin was great. Like some of the reviews mention, some of the doors don’t close all the way but we didn’t have any issues with them swinging open or anything. Driveway could use some more gravel/leveling. Beds/pillows could be better but we never lost sleep over it.

My family and I really enjoyed our time at the property! It was overall a great experience.

Overall the property was perfect for my family and I! The only thing that I can really say something slightly negative about was that the doors are all pretty uneven and a little hard to open. Other than that, the kids had a great time feeding the goats and the donkeys and playing outside! It was just the right amount of distance from everywhere that we needed to go. Would definitely stay here again!

Great little house with some quirks

We had my family (me, husband, 2 kids), sister and husband, and brother and wife stay here for 4 nights. We didn’t realize 2 bedrooms are upstairs but only one bathroom is up there, so that was a little bit to figure out (the couples without kids stayed upstairs since downstairs had the king and queen together plus room for our cat in the bathroom). The house has been updated and was very clean - we did have a few bugs, but I believe that we as a combination of the gaps in doors due to foundation issues (more to come on that) and it being so hot and dry outside. Nothing like an infestation - just a stray beetle here and there. The biggest issue with the house is that the foundation badly needs leveling. Most interior (and some exterior) doors are hard to open and close. For my sister’s room upstairs (the room with only 1 bed up there), they could not close their door overnight because if they needed to leave the room, the door (which was very hard to close) made a terrible screeching sound. In the master downstairs, the double doors have pretty sizable gaps above one and below the other. They have made an attempt to block the gap at the top of the one door, but if you block the other one, you have to make the door inoperable. There were a couple of other things when we arrived like a doorknob that was loose to the point of almost coming off, missing pull string for the ceiling fan, and a faucet that was loose upstairs, but we were able to work around all of those things. The code we had when we first got there was wrong and that was the only time I had a little trouble reaching the property manager (they do have a back up though and I spoke to her). Ultimately we got in and it really is a great property with cute goats (some are bullies to each other though) and donkeys you can feed fruits and veggies to. The road to the property did have one significantly wallowed out spot - it wasn’t too much of an issue for us - we just veered around it - but if it was rainy, I would think that could be a little issue (it was hot and dry when we were there). Beds are okay - they are IKEA and a little on the firm side and fairly low to the ground. Definitely not our best nights’ sleep, but not the worst either. Overall, I would probably stay here again because of its great proximity to my sister’s house and there not being too many other pet-friendly options nearby, but I with other choices, we might stay elsewhere.

We enjoyed our stay very much.

We can during a cold snap and the management company worked very hard to make us comfortable. Just so you know of this property will work for you. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is roomy and functional. There is no full sized stove and the grill is charcoal. In addition the pool table is basically not useful. If you are looking for a comfortable house with a decent kitchen you will be happy.

Can be better.

The house is a nice place to spend a vacation with family but it needs up keeping and better house keeping. All the towels were dirty and some stained, the only oven the house has is a small counter top oven and it was filthy. There was bras and dirty socks in the couch. All the rugs in the master bathroom were dirty and stained. The floors and doors squeak, the downstairs bedroom door is broken and does not close. The windows do not close correctly they have gaps you can hear all the outside noise and wind coming through them. I know it’s an old house but all this is maintenance and house keeping.

Misleading and inconsiderate

This was a planned family getaway with people traveling in from Canada, Cincinnati and Austin for Thanksgiving. It started out a bit irritating when we had to finish the linen laundry as it was all just thrown in the dryer. However, the big surprise came soon after when we found out the oven did not work, something absolutely important for a Thanksgiving celebration and something the management company was aware of! When we called, they said we could use the toaster oven on the counter, something too small to even fit half a pizza in! It absolutely devastated us. The property said it came with an outdoor gas grill, also a falsehood. In the end I had to go out and buy $500 to get 2 large portable ovens from Best Buy. We were absolutely deceived and ripped off.

Home away from home

We loved our stay. Beautiful inside and out. The home access through the front door is inconvenient as the parking area is in the back. Other than that we would suggest anyone to stay here.
