Gated community , This beautiful La Garita Spanish Colonial 3 BR Home is located in a pristine guarded community in La Garita de Alajuela. Very attractive well-maintained home and property, perfect for those who enjoy the comfort and privacy combined with a leisure lifestyle. The location is perfect: surrounded are all plant-fruit trees nurseries, shopping areas, and restaurants at close range, medical facilities close by, easy access to hwy 1, 3, and 27, the international airport is a 20-minute drive, Atenas at 15 minutes. The double-lot property measures in total 1573 m2 (0.4 acres), is beautifully landscaped, and totally fenced in with 4 security cameras. We have smartly made full use of the land and created a truly relaxing family retreat. This 3800 sq.ft (350 m2) home has a beautiful flow with many attractive details. There is a spacious living/dining room that connects to the kitchen and also directly to the outside living areas and gardens. The large master bedroom has its own 4Pc ensuite and large walk in closet. The Second Bedroom also has a walk-in closet and shares a full 3Pc bathroom with Bedroom three , both Bedroom 2 and 3 have Beautiful view of lush backyard and pool. The backyard is designed to be a fun and entertaining retreat with several sunny and shaded areas. There is an oversized swimming pool with a jacuzzi and an outdoor shower, a funky surfer Ranchito, and a large beach-sports bar-style rancho with a grilling area and comfortable lounge seating. This extremely well-maintained home is waiting for your family vacation. Note: Price includes 4 guest and is extra $20 per day/visit to maximum of 8. I will permit kids daytime birthday parties 10am to 5pm.up to 40people. Lots of parking. Enjoy the pool too large ranches furnished with barbeque and Fridge outdoor bathroom and shower with green area to play football. price starts at $350. (entry to house not permitted for kids birthday parties).

The property was clean, spacious, the air conditioning worked well, and it was an easy drive from the airport. The only issue we had was the description of the property having a jacuzzi, which in America means there is a heated soaking area. The pool area has a separate section, but it is not heated, so the pool was not very usable when we arrived in December due to our poor luck with rain and cooler temps. The master suite had a jacuzzi-style tub, but it was missing the water stopper, so we could not soak in the tub either. Again, we loved the property overall, but we wished we had a hot soak option!

Quick 15 min from the airport and a great stop over on our way to a different city after a long day in airports. Great location, comfortable beds and air conditioning, nice pool, and the security is excellent. Communication with the host we great and we knew exactly what to expect, including that the gardener would be there at 9am.We would definitely stay there again.

House was just outside San Jose and very convenient. Gated community and lots of shops and restaurants minutes away. Jeff was very responsive to our messages. House was spacious and comfortable with a fantastic backyard and pool with total privacy. Highly recommend!

Let me start by saying that the landscaping and grounds of the property are beautiful, well-maintained and visually appealing. Unfortunately, the positive aspects ended there. The property as a whole did not match what was advertised, and several issues had a significant negative impact on our stay.•The refrigerator worked only intermittently, causing food and milk to spoil.•There was no hot tub, even though one is clearly listed in the description and shown in the photos.•The listing stated that there were on-site laundry facilities, but the machines did not work. The host initially said he would provide laundry service but never did. After checkout, the owner claimed the machines didn’t work and then accused us of breaking them — stating he would send us the repair bill. This felt like a last-minute and unfair attempt to charge us additional money.•Pool lights were not functioning, so the pool couldn’t safely be used at night.•Upon arrival, the host demanded an extra payment for my brother and his son to visit us for a few hours, even though they were not staying overnight.•There was a persistent sewage smell coming from the bathroom sinks.•The outdoor refrigerator did not work.•Wifi was down for an entire day with no support or help from the owner, leaving us disconnected and unable to work or contact others.•Slippery tile floors resulted in two injuries.Overall, the experience was stressful and disappointing.

We had the perfect stay with our family. The house is very nice, and the outside is even better. A perfect hidden paradise. We didn’t feel crowded, there are so many areas where to hang out.

Location is great. Without traffic, it's about 15 minutes to San Jose airport. Property is in a gated community and has its own security gate. Jeff was helpful. My only reason for a 4 out of 5 is that the pictures of the property are a work of art. The property is nice and you'll enjoy it but it's not quite as nice as the pictures depict.

Accommodated us, prompt replies, pool and jacuzzi were uncovered so debris in jacuzzi. A few tv channels to watch with English language. Home would easily cost over 700 a night if it was in the US. Beautiful and spacious home, with up to date amenities.

The property was stunning. We had everything we needed to cook breakfasts before heading out for the day. The rooms were well appointed with comfy beds. The backyard pool is beautiful with plenty of seating for a large group. We communicated with the host several times and he was always very quick to respond and helpful. If in the area, we would definitely stay here again.

Jeff was extremely proactive in dealing with a few issues with the house and we really appreciated he and Patricia’s quick responses. The house boasts one of the most beautifully landscaped backyards I’ve ever seen. The pool was a joy. Very safe. Very comfortable. Highly recommended.

Peace & quiet

My family of six stayed in this home for 10 days, and it was a wonderful experience. The house was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate all of us, and the neighborhood was both quiet and safe. The home was well-equipped with everything we needed. Jeff, our host, even left sugar and coffee for us—by the way, the coffee was excellent!Communication with Jeff was smooth and easy. He was warm, welcoming, and readily provided helpful information and recommendations throughout our stay. We truly felt at home and would gladly recommend his property time and time again.One tip for future guests: if you're arriving at night, as we did, consider coordinating with Jeff in advance to see if grocery shopping can be done and delivered prior to your arrival. Many stores in the area close early, and you may want to have some essentials like drinking water on hand when you get in.

We stayed at this home for two nights to be closer to the airport before flying out of San José, and it was just what we needed. The property manager was fantastic—very responsive and communicative every step of the way. The location was ideal, only about 20–25 minutes from the airport, which made travel day so much easier.We really enjoyed the pool and the lush, tropical grounds—it was a peaceful and relaxing spot to unwind. The house itself worked well for our short stay. If I had to offer any suggestions, it would be to consider a few updates to the home and provide some additional bedding, especially if you plan to use the air conditioning at night.That said, the property served its purpose perfectly, and we would definitely stay again!

Good for Family Stay

Our family stayed here for a week in June, and while we loved the pool and location, we also noticed the home needs some TLC and general repairs throughout (patio doors don't fully shut/lock, toilet seats that don't fit and move when using, cracked window, broken tiles and pans that have teflon peeling off to name a few). Despite needing repairs, we loved swimming each day, close proximity to the wildlife refuge and cute neighboring towns like Sarchi and eating at Casa Mia a few minutes down the road. The owner Jeff was also easy to get in contact with and quick to respond to questions.Also, important to note, the jacuzzi is not a hot one (this is the case with many in Costa Rica, but I didn't know until I arrived) and if you want to use the laundry you will need to pay a fee for the cleaning ladies to do it for you.All in all, it's a cool spot to stay, and with a little maintenance could be an excellent place to stay.

AMAZING!!

We arrived after a red-eye flight and although we only stayed the day and one night it was an amazing place. The home is beautiful, rooms comfortable and kids enjoyed the play area. The pool and waterfall were so relaxing and enjoyable. We wished we could have stayed longer. I would recommend this home to anyone, but for a family it could t have been better! Contacting the Jeff, the host , was easy on WhatsApp. He was receptive and replied quickly. We truly enjoyed our time.

Beautiful home

We were only here overnight but the grounds are beautiful with large mango trees in the back. Nice pool and hot tub with cabana area. There were no food options open early so pack snacks to eat if you are staying for a while until you can get to a store or restaurant. You would need a driver or car. Ubereats might be an option but again nothing seemed to be open before 10am. My kids loved the play nook in the house.

Beautiful home

This is such a beautiful home. We truly enjoyed our stay. We had some visitors from all kinds of creatures! Host responded very fast and checked on us the whole time.
