Beautiful lodging in convenient location.

The lodging is lovely and spacious and very convenient to Mt. Rainier. The hot tub was great. The host was very timely and responsive and kindly allowed us a late check-out time.The only needed change is a new sofa bed as mentioned in a previous review - the mattress is comfortable but the platform for it is uneven and where one’s head would go is several inches lower.

Cute Mt Rainier loft

Cute little loft above a barn that was well equipped and super close to Mt Rainier Park. Enjoyed hiking during the day and enjoyed soaking in the covered hot tub afterwards. Would definitely recommend for a couple.

Anniversary getaway

My husband & I wanted to get away for the weekend to celebrate out anniversary. We brought our son with us & felt he was safe playing in the bedroom as long as the door was shut ◡̈ we had a good time exploring around the towns too.

Most wonderful stay

It is a beautiful place with hot tub. We loved staying there with a nice functioning kitchen. Caught a glimpse of couple of deers in the backyard. Will definitely stay here again.

Great place!

We enjoyed staying at this cabin. It’s a great location and nice amenities. Close to Rainer on the main road. The hot tub was wonderful in the snow.

Studio apartment very well maintained. Owner/manager very responsive to inquiries. Property is surrounded by trees with abundant wildlife. We say an elk walk by one morning. Highly recommend this rental.

Amazing

It was my birthday weekend to get away and Mother Nature made it better by having me wake up to snow my birthday morning! The hot tub was just amazing. It’s literally right outside front door and it’s covered with beautiful string lights. The robes were such a great touch that were provided too! The kitchen was completely stocked up with everything you needed. There was even cream and sugar and coffee k-cups! The bathroom had everything you’d need too! Everything was just thought of and perfect. I would definitely stay here again!

Unit is spacious and clean. Comfortable bed and sofa. Large deck with views of the forest. The best is its location, only about 3 miles from the entrance of the Mt. Rainier NP, and it’s close to restaurants. The owner is very thoughtful, having good recommendations for restaurants and trails in the NP in the guest book. The drawback is the narrow and steep staircase leading up to the unit, and no AC, with a heatwave in early June, the unit got quite warm even with a fan provided.

Pleasant stay, some things could be better

The Owl’s Nest is very cute, and the proximity to Mt Rainier is great. A couple things could be better. The bedroom area is very spacious, which is lovely, but it has a tiny little TV that is much too small for the space. The hot tub does indeed get nice and hot, but it was very slimy inside. The kitchen is just okay. Could have better pots and pans, more options would be nice. The dishes were clean but the pots and pans were greasy, like maybe they had been washed in cold water and the grease wasn’t cleaned away. Overall we were satisfied, but I’m not sure it was worth the price as is. A few simple upgrades/improved cleanliness would go really far. It was decorated nicely for Christmas, and that was a really nice touch.

Ideal spot for Rainier Park Access

My husband and I enjoyed our 3 night stay in the Owl's Nest for our anniversary get away. It's ideally located for access to Rainier, especially in the winter months when other gates are closed. The spot is modest, but accurate with listing details. We were a bit concerned about privacy since you can tell the listing is above another space, but it is just an empty barn/garage, so that's ended up being no concern. There are two other listings on property that weren't inhabited during our stay, but could be during a busier season I'd guess. The hot tub was really next level, with a covering to allow use in all seasons and weather, and inclusion of luxurious bath robes made the quick jaunt down the stairs to its outdoor location a breeze. There are a few quirks, certainly; i.e. no central heat, only wall heaters which work really well in the bedroom area but less so in the kitchen/bathroom, which is separated by doors which do shut to keep the bedroom warm air circulating. But overall, if you're looking for a location close to Rainier to access all it has to offer, I would recommend this property many times over!

Anniversary Getaway

Text message to the property manager/owner- Hi I've been up since 2 am listening to mice or rats run around in the ceiling/walls. This property has been disappointing to say the least. To us arriving and needing to run the water NOT for 2 minutes like you said to clear the lines, but after two hot water tanks later the water still dishwater dirty. Upon arrival water dark brown and took much time at least an hour to get it from dark brown to dirty dishwater color. Not till second day would I think about using water. (Prior to our arrival as the host this should have been taken care of before we arrived at the property). Hot tub is dingy and we did NOT utilize. Needs a thorough cleaning. Fire hazard..see photo did NOT utilize the fire place. The vent is NOT to code. My husband is a builder. Lastly, as you enter property and open the door your met with an intense mold/musty smell and as you walk up the steps it then smells of strong nasty perfume.This is our little weekend away from the business of work and caring for our children to celebrate our wedding anniversary and definitely disappointed with the accomodations to say the least. With all that was mentioned above we would appreciate a significant refund on our stay.*Manager was responsive and was given a 50 refund for above issues, which was less than I believe we should have received considering we had several issues. Charming house in a great location

We had some issues on our first night. The shower was clogged by a clump of hair that we removed. The back door could not be closed and the microwave was broken. I called Kerstin and the next day she sent someone to fix the door and gave us a new microwave. I appreciated the promptness since we were staying for a week. Not having a microwave for a week would not be convenient. I am fond of old houses. They have their characters and charm. This house has plenty of that. The kitchen had pots and pans, utensils, spices, plates… etc that were enough for all three of us. The bathroom was spacious, and clean, had hot water and good water pressure. The main bed was comfortable with enough pillows and warm blankets. Unfortunately, the sofa bed was not so great. The support on the head side was flimsy and it slanted down. The location was great, just 4 miles to the entrance. There was a small grocery store nearby but we did our grocery shopping at Seattle. The internet was spotty, sometimes it was just crawling but Kerstin told me that was because of the remote location and that was the fastest speed available. The TV came with Netflix and Disney programs which were awesome when the internet had enough speed and stopped buffering. FYI this property is managed by Evolve, so the instructions for check-ins/outs or emails are not through VRBO. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. After long days of hiking on Mount Rainier, we enjoyed having to stay in this house.

Cozy home away from home

We'd enjoyed our stay at the Owl's Nest very much--it was very clean and cozy, the location was perfect for going to Rainier. The full kitchen was very convenient for preparing meals before and after hikes. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely book this place again when we return to visit Rainier again.
