Lovely spot

Great spot to stay, easy walk to beach. Short drive to flagged beach. Lots of living spaces, great teenage retreat upstairs. Comfortable beds. The pool area needs attention (very overgrown and broken seating) although the pool itself was lovely and clean. Be aware to take your own hand wash/soap etc as there is none supplied. Also take dishwashing liquid as there was none supplied. Overall it is a lovely place to stay with a big family.

It's great to know that the property worked well for your family. We truly appreciate your feedback on the pool area, and we will certainly address the overgrowth and seating issues to ensure future guests have an even better experience. Regarding the hand wash, soap, and dishwashing liquid, we apologize for the oversight and will make sure to clarify these amenities for future stays. Thank you again for your kind words and constructive feedback—we'd love to welcome you back soon! Kind regards, The Lakeshores Team

Great house, location and hosts. slightly misleading listing

Pros: The house was very clean, well furnished and has all necessary amenities. The backyard pool area is really nice, including a nice outdoor deck. Check-in was easy and the Lakeshores team was very helpful and quick to respond to any of my inquiries or concerns. Cons: The furnishing shown in the pictures are not exactly the same as what we got (e.g. the outdoor deck currently doesn't have that couch seating and instead of 2 single beds there is 1 single and 1 additional double). The house also has some strict rules about noise levels etc which are not immediately displayed on the Stayz listing - so i'd recommend to inquire about those to ensure they are suitable for your stay. Overall i would recommend this place as the issues mentioned above weren't serious enough to negatively impact our stay.

Caves Beach is one of those rare places where you really do get the best of everything, which is why it works so well for holiday homes and return guests. Iconic sea caves at low tide – Caves Beach is famous for its network of sea caves at the southern end of the beach. At low tide you can wander through tunnels, rock formations, and little rock pools, making it a favourite spot for families and photographers. Patrolled, family-friendly surf beach – The main beach is patrolled in the warmer months, with good swimming and surfing conditions plus plenty of space to spread out on the sand. It is consistently described as very family friendly, with lots to keep kids entertained between the waves and the rocks. Recognised as one of Australia’s best beaches – Caves Beach has recently been ranked among Tourism Australia’s top beaches, reflecting how popular it has become with both locals and visitors for its natural beauty and relaxed vibe. Lake on one side, ocean on the other – Set on the Swansea peninsula between Lake Macquarie and the Pacific Ocean, guests can choose between ocean surf, calm lake inlets, fishing spots, and boat ramps, all within a short drive. Easy coastal escape – Caves Beach is only about 30 minutes from Newcastle and around 90 minutes from Sydney, so it feels like a true coastal getaway without a long, difficult drive, making weekend trips and short breaks very doable.
