Banyandah - Luxury Architect Designed Straddie Beachhouse

This beautiful home was designed by well known architect Paul Butterworth and built in August 2014. It came in at number 24 in the Courier Mail best Homes in Qld and it is easy to see why.

It is multi-level with four queen size beds, three bathrooms and impressive ocean views from every angle of the house. The neutral colours of white, grey and timber suit the home perfectly and draw in the surrounding blue ocean and greenery. The windows are tinted throughout the house and each one is positioned perfectly to capture the views and natural light.

Ground floor has two bedrooms, a kitchenette, lounge and large undercover deck. The bathroom on this level has a free standing bathtub and a separate toilet. There is a double length garage that runs the length of the house.

On the first floor you will find the open plan lounge, dining and kitchen that once again take in the views out to the Coral Sea. The covered deck becomes part of the living space and kitchen when opened and is the perfect entertainer. There are a further two bedrooms including the master and en-suite with another free standing bathtub.

This home has all of the modern luxuries you would expect including air conditioning throughout, security screens throughout and all modern fixtures, fittings and appliances.

Relaxing

Our stay was perfect at Banyanda. The house was perfect, weather was perfect and the company was perfect. Memories were made. The house was very spacious with plenty of quiet time able to be had if needed. I do suggest taking a car over on the ferry as to have such wonderful views means being on top of a hill.

Especially in whale season.Also as bushwalkers, we had great access to the myriad of tracks behind Point Lookout.In general: quite a well appointed unit.Only a couple of issues:1. The dishwasher is in need of a service. It worked, but the buttons often stuck & so we had several attempts at starting it.2. An establishment such as Banyandah would do well to update its glassware - much of it plastic (cheap) & a mixture of odd shapes. Not pleasant to drink wine from & not in keeping with its targeted market. The cups probably need attention as well.

Reviewer Comments: We couldn’t have loved this house more, it now shares a very very big place in our heart as it’s the house we stayed in for our wedding week and the house I got ready in with my bridesmaids and mum. The house is located on a hill so it has such a beautiful view! We whale watched the entire week, the house was clean and looked exactly like the photos. It was lovely and spacious with a great breeze and airflow throughout. It’s absolutely gorgeous and I literally cried when leaving. So many amazing memories here and I hope to be back one day!

Banyandah is a beautiful property with plenty of space and beautiful views. The house is very well equipped and has basically everything you could need. We were unlucky in that we had two water pipes dripping in our bedroom for the entire 3 night stay which severely disrupted our sleep. The managing agents were lovely but were unable to get anyone to fix it over the weekend. The property was not very clean when we checked in eg mould and dust through cupboards, droppings throughout the house, spider webs and insects in the showers. Again, the agent was helpful and offered to arrange a cleaner to come over but we were very disappointed that a property at this price point wouldn’t have been clean on arrival. The property was high quality and you could tell it was architecturally designed. The only part we found a bit odd was that there is a section of the property (in between the two upstairs bedrooms) that is open to outside. The rest of the property has screens but this section meant anything could come inside (and it did). The rain also came in so as much as the fresh air was lovely, it was very impractical. All in all a lovely stay and we thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful location and stunning views.

Well set up home with many nice extras included. The view and quality build with three areas to dine at were all great. Would go there again and recommend highly for family groups such as ours.

Adults were upstairs and the grandkids were downstairs, but the house could have easily accommodated all couples in the 4 bedrooms. Lovely big screen TVs with WiFi and Streaming Channels. Everything was clean and accommodating. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the views are spectacular. This home is situated on top of the hill and gives a thorough workout walking to the beach and back. Unfortunately, my husband was very unwell during our stay and Ray White were very helpful, not to mention, the Island's Ambulance Service. My only comments are, the main bed is very firm, so maybe the owners could look at a padded topper? The design of the home is great, except for an open area on the top floor. This area assists with the flow through breeze, but it does allow friends from outside in - it could be screened, along with the kitchen windows. For the first few days of our stay, the Neighbours had their dogs staying, which liked to bark, and at times, early in the morning. Yes, we would stay here again. Thank you.

Only has king beds. No Foxtel Washing machine was not working. Agent is hopeless. Didn’t get back to me about clothes I left in the robe.

Beautiful property. The vista is amazing, literally 180degrees of the ocean. Very spacious, huge area downstairs with another lounge 2 beds etc. Very well appointed ,needs a hairdryer though please! Would definitely return again if back on the Island. Sorry to leave!
