The one pro I can give this place is the location--the location is great. The pictures are highly misleading and this “recently renovated” house realistically has not been touched in any meaningful way since it was built in the 1970s. The structural things fall into the “is what it is” category because we were really there to take advantage of all Jackson and Grand Teton/Yellowstone have to offer and I’m really not keen on insulting someone’s home. What was absolutely unacceptable was how filthy the house was. As mentioned in an earlier review, just walking on the floors made feet turn black. The kitchen counters had crumbs all over them, there were (and my guess still are) spilled coffee grounds in the pantry, there was food stuck to the majority of the dishes, the garbage cans were full when we arrived and had no room for any additional garbage, there was dust on every surface of furniture, there was actual poop stuck to the side of one of the toilets, and looking under the beds or at any of the vents or returns in the house should not be done by the faint of heart as they look like they have not been cleaned since the 1970’s. A 2-year-old playing with a Swiffer would do a better job cleaning and we were willing to let our 2-year-old do just that except there is not one cleaning supply or broom provided. The last thing we wanted to do on our vacation at a luxury house was to clean the kitchen and wash all the dishes. Had there been any kind of house cleaning supplies or a broom provided, we probably would have spent our first day there cleaning the rest of the house because it was so grimy, but there was nothing of the sort provided. To add insult to the squalid state of injury, the bedding consists of a comforter sandwiched between two sheets, and the comforters in at least three of the rooms had noticeable stains on them. In the interest of fairness, I will mention that Outpost did offer to have cleaning staff come clean after we told them the state of things; however, we did not feel comfortable having them come while we were not in the house. Overall, while our stay was amazing due to family fun and the inherent beauty of the nature around us, it was beyond disappointing and disgusting to kick-start things with a filthy “luxury” accommodation that, at best, rates as meh even at its cleanest.
