My family has been coming to Sunset Beach for more than 30 years and this is our favorite house we've ever had, no kidding. Part of that sentiment was the truly spectacular view down the canal from a very spacious screened porch, part was how clean this property felt, and part was how this house suited my family's particular needs and preferences.
The 2 main level bedrooms each with a bathroom were great for our parents to avoid one more set of stairs, and the upstairs bedrooms/shared bathroom worked out great for us, very spacious. The kitchen was surprisingly well equipped for a rental, including random things like a pizza cutter, cheese grater, pizza pan (can you tell we like pizza?), and plenty of knives, pots, pans, etc. I genuinely think this was the cleanest rental I've ever stayed in, too.
The renters closet had spare chairs, floaties, and other odds and ends for the beach -- thank you, owners! What a lovely touch.
If you're renting kayaks or planning any other water activities, be aware that this particular house is at the very end of the canal and therefore you will have to plan your excursions around the tides - at low tide (and about an hour in either direction of it), it was impossible to launch a kayak from the dock, not enough water. But of course, we adjusted accordingly and had a wonderful time :) When swimming within several hours of low tide, I had to be careful not to touch the bottom (I'm 5'6")...so don't just jump in!
