Golden Hour - Brilliant Ocean Views at this Charming Summerland Farmhouse

Experience one of the original Summerland homes, built in 1895. Golden Hour exudes Californian charm with ocean views from nearly every room. Although we recommend a car so you can explore Montecito and Santa Barbara, you could get away with not even needing a car during your stay as it is in an ideal location close to downtown Summerland and the beach. Being that you are only a block and half away from Lillie Avenue means that you can walk to the Summerland Winery tasting room, shop at one of the many luxury antique home stores, or enjoy a wonderful meal at one of the local restaurants.

The three bedroom and three and a half bath home boasts and open floor plan living space complete with detailed craftsmanship including rustic wood beams, hickory floors, entry nook, restored original windows, a stone covered fireplace, and shiplap wall with the deck and ocean views as the premier feature. The ample outdoor living space includes a large deck, outdoor dining table, Traeger grill, separate fire pit and in-ground jacuzzi. The primary bedroom is located on the main level with an ensuite bath. Downstairs features a media room, a bedroom with two twin-sized built in bunk beds, and a bedroom with a queen sized bed. Both bedrooms downstairs have ensuite baths and ocean views.

The yard has been beautifully manicured incorporating custom stonework, iron gates, and palms. It is said that massive redwood tree is believed to be original to the property. We hope you can enjoy the Golden Hour at dusk in this historic home.

The Golden Hour was a perfect place to stay for our family (4 adults and 3 kids). The bunk beds were a big hit for our little ones. Closeness (walkable distance) to downtown Summerland was also a big positive. Any questions that arose during our stay were quickly answered. The best recommendation I could give is that we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Awesome Place Great View of the Ocean

We had a wonderful stay in Summerland! The property had a beautiful view of the ocean that made the whole trip feel relaxing. The space was clean, spacious and just what we were looking for. The only small downside was a lack of wash rags, but that didn’t take away from how much we enjoyed our time here. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

In the of Summerland

1 week on the coast for Christmas for Mom, daughter and son-in-law (who is a triathlete and trained each day in the hills nearby).Location of house is near train track and Hwy 101 which is noted in listing. For a quieter location, go further up the hill.

Amazing Home - Perfect Location

This home was fantastic for our family! The open floor plan, huge island and outdoor deck was ideal for entertaining. We used the hot tub daily and also used the fire pit. I didn’t realize how close the home is to all of the shops and restaurants in Summerland, such a cute town! We were only a short drive from the Polo Fields too- as we were there for a lacrosse tournament. The home was also stocked with everything, so you just get to enjoy! Plenty of parking and super clean, tons of linens and everything needed for the beach. We loved our time here, it really felt like home. Thank you so, so much! We will be back.

Amazing home

We stayed at this beautiful property during the celebration of our daughter’s wedding in Santa Barbara. The pictures do not do it justice! The great room with kitchen and living space is huge and opens up to a large patio. Incredibly clean, well furnished and comfortable! Check in was super easy and the location is within a short walking distance to cute Summerland. Would definitely recommend this property! We didn’t want to leave!

Summerland respite

Gorgeous property and location. Very clean, spacious and the views were amazing. The attached concierge service was really helpful in setting up various things. That being said, check-in was rushed and not a lot was explained carefully, though we didn't realize this at the moment. For example, we only learned the hot tub was broken when we went to turn it on, which was annoying. I wish they had mentioned this to us at the outset, since the managers were evidently aware of the fact. At this pricepoint, I wish there were a few more supplies (e.g., tools/wood for the fire pit). We were given smores supplies and wood after we asked about the hot tub, which was nice, but didn't really make up for a key amenity (we had 4 kids and 4 adults in our group).

Sublime Summerland!

Just enjoyed a week-long stay here with our teenage and college-age children and their friends. Layout was perfect. Plenty of space inside and out; quality furnishings and nice amenities like alfresco dining under twinkle lights, fire-pit, jacuzzi; plus really nice sheets and comfy beds. Although there's no A/C, opening some doors and windows brings in a cooling coastal breeze that makes this charming, well-updated house with stunning ocean + sunset views just the perfect place to relax and recharge. Kitchen could benefit from a blender, and unfortunately the spa jets were not working, but owners provided small credit. All in all, a great rental and we hope to come back someday.

Great Location and Quaint Property

Loved this location. Walkable to shopping, restaurants and beach, short drive to Channel Islands National Park and Santa Barbara/Montecito. Very quaint, restored with great detail. We had a lot of rain while visiting, but the home had so many thoughtful amenities, we didn't mind being inside cooking in the well appointed kitchen and by the fire.

A gem of a house ✨

This beautiful house is filled with glowing east to west light the whole day, with stunning views of the ocean. The streaming sunshine lights up the charming, cozy decor. I wouldn’t change a thing and would stay here again and again. It’s just perfect!
