Cedarwood Lodge - Meredith Lodging

Cedarwood Lodge is a long-time favorite log cabin in a quiet, gated community on the south side of Government Camp, perfect for year-round getaways. Ideal for both summer hiking and biking vacations and winter snow adventures at Mt Hood, this spacious lodge is within walking distance to Mt Hood Adventure Park, offering activities like bungee jumping, zip-lines, Alpine Slide, and more than 40 miles of mountain biking trails. Just a 10-minute drive away is Trillium Lake, where you can cool off with paddleboarding, canoeing, and kayaking. Enjoy the nearby hiking trails, and don’t forget to pick huckleberries in August!

In winter, the lodge is a short walk to Mt Hood Ski Bowl for skiing, snowboarding, and Cosmic Tubing. You’re also close to cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails, with Timberline Ski Area just down the road.

The vaulted mid-level great room offers plenty of seating, perfect for gathering around to watch TV, play board games, or tackle jigsaw puzzles. The open modern kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances, pots, and pans you need for family meals, which you can enjoy around the 10-person dining table.

This 3-level vacation home accommodates up to 12 guests with 5 bedrooms, a loft, and 2 ½ bathrooms. The primary bedroom suite upstairs includes a king bed and ensuite bathroom, while the loft features a queen sofa bed and a twin bunk bed. The lower level provides privacy with 3 queen bedrooms and a second bathroom. After a day of adventures, unwind on the large covered porch, grill dinner on the BBQ, and relax in the hot tub.

We had a nice stay, plenty of room for our small group, house well stocked and easy check in and out process. However it is always disappointing when you specifically are searching and booking a house with a hot tub only to get to the house and the hot tub is not hot and will not warm up. Also, house was really cold when we arrived and took a while to warm up.

Very comfortable house. Kitchen is well equipped. Location is quiet, despite its proximity to 26. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for 8.

Great Family Getaway

We had a terrific time at this location! Close to town if you want to walk, beautiful property. Couple items of furniture need a little mending and there was no propane for the BBQ, but otherwise would recommend!

Nice stay

Cabin was just as described. The kitchen was stocked with all the pots, pans, bakeware and dishes we could have asked for. Made preparing thanksgiving dinner a breeze.

Great cabin with lots of space

We had a great time at Cedarwood Lodge! The cabin size and overall layout is great for bigger groups--everyone was able to cook, eat, and hang out together with plenty of space. The hot tub was also fantastic! Overall, great value for the price/size/location/features.

Mountain retreat from work

Our office rented this house for a day to play hookie and ski and hike at Mt Hood. The team had a great time. The house worked really well for us. It's location is awesome and we enjoyed cooking dinner and using the hot tub. It is not a luxury high end place, but it was perfect for us. I would recommend for families and friends.

Girls Getaway

Me and 9 of my friends stayed in this lovely rental this past weekend. It was nice just to walk over to the town and grab breakfast and dinner. We also enjoyed time in the hot tub, especially after a 6 hour hike at Mt Hood. We really wished the main floor would have had more lighting as it was hard for us to play games at the table or stay awake while talking in the dark living room. The dishwasher also took a long time to run its cycle…like 3 hours. The King bed on the top floor was super comfortable, but this was an amazing place for our girls getaway.

Great location, dated property

You can’t beat the location in Govy Camp, walking distance from everything, but the house is in dire need of some updates. The hot tub didn’t work, the TV didn’t stream, it was more or less impossible to regulate the temperature of the bedrooms on the lower level, and the house is very very dark. We checked in during a major snowstorm with two children under two, and were given the wrong code. This was remedied quickly, but was indicative of many things that went wrong over the course of our stay. I hate to leave review that isn’t totally positive, but this was really unfortunate. Government Camp is beautiful and we still had a great time in the snow, but feel we were misled by this listing.

Great spot for groups

We had a great time at the cabin. It’s a fantastic spot for groups, everyone gets their own bedroom. There are plenty of dishes for everyone and the huge kitchen table means we all got to sit together for to eat. If staying in the cooler months, definitely bring extra layers and some blankets too - the little stove puts out nice heat, but the upstairs rooms are pretty chilly as is the kitchen/dining area.

Reviewer Comments: The cabin was set up really well for 2 families with 2 bedrooms plus a loft area and full bath upstairs, living room and kitchen and half bath on the middle level, and 3 bedrooms plus full bathroom downstairs. The cabin was (overall) clean, but dusty/dirty in areas that don't generally see use (like behind/under chairs and beds, etc). We really appreciated that there was actually enough seating in the middle living area for everyone staying there, with a big couch and chairs as well as a large dining table. For those going with young children: the stairs and railings are pretty open to the floors below and there are no doors between the levels; games and puzzles are all missing pieces; there are no additional toys in the house. The hot tub and the walkable, but quiet, location are amazing. We had a great time and would return!

From the very beginning we had great communication, when we arrived the lights were on and the home was warm and incredibly cozy and clean. This home had absolutely everything we needed during the Christmas holidays with our large family and we were so impressed. I highly recommend booking this beautiful cabin it was by far the best Christmas we have ever had.

Super Bowl Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed at Cedarwood Lodge. It’s location is one of the best things about it! Walking distance to everything. The layout is perfect for a big group-plenty of space & bathrooms for everyone. The bedrooms have great beds & linens. The kitchen has most every thing needed except paper towels, tin foil, baggies, spices & oil, so just come prepared. The hot tub on the deck is awesome-everyone fits & its really hot! They also have recycling & trash service which is much appreciated! We had to call the office for a few questions but they are always very responsive & helpful! It’s nice to know that you have someone to turn to. We plan to keep up our Super Bowl tradition & hope to stay here next year!! The only improvements could be a new coffee table (its very wobbly) & the dishwasher soap door isn’t opening :(
