The nine of us used all five bedrooms, cooked meals in the kitchen, and spent a lot of time on the back patio loving the view out over the ocean. Ricardo helped us pick hikes and recommended restaurants. We had a lovely time!

Our stay at Casa Azevedo was exceptional. I was concerned about not having air conditioning, the house was a perfect temperature. There was always a nice cool breeze coming through the windows. The views were breathtaking. Ricardo welcomed us and was beyond helpful with answering questions and providing us with information. This is a place we will call our home away from home. Looking forward to our next stay. Thank you for making us feel like part of the family.

Wonderful stay at Casa Azeveda

The property was absolutely wonderful with more than enough supplies and beds to keep all happy. Beautiful view of the Atlantic and close driving distance to all that Terceira has to offer. Our host Ricardo met us at the property in a very timely manner even though we were a day late due to an airplane cancellation due to weather. Ricardo is rightfully very proud of his house and gave us a very thorough tour of the property at checkin. He was also always available when we had a question or were seeking suggestions on restaurants or places to see. I would definitely stay at Casa Aceveda again.

Très belle et vaste propriété. L’hôte nous a fait plein de suggestions de visites et restos durant le séjour. Très bel accueil du proprio qui nous a fait un cadeau d’invité (vins, bières, collations, etc.). Nous nous sommes rapidement sentis chez-nous.

Home Away From Home

Casa Azavedo was truly our home away from home. The home is beautiful, the setting gorgeous, great location, well stocked with everything we could possibly need, and we felt completely taken care of in every way. Ricardo, who oversees the home, is a traveler’s angel. Ten stars!!!

A great house and an even greater host.

We stayed at four separate VRBO houses during our visit to four islands in the Azores. This house was centrally located, had great views of the ocean and Goat Island, was very clean and provided us with the all time best VRBO host. Ricardo knows Terceira as well as any professional guide and is very forthcoming with his recommendations. I would recommend this VRBO location to anyone visiting Terceira.

Our accommodations at Casa Azevedo were stellar...and far exceeded our expectations! Our only regret is that we did not book more time at the Azevedo home. Everything was absolutely perfect and the location cannot be exceeded. We loved out time in Teceira and will book our next trip at Casa Azevedo...but for a longer stay!

We are the Azevedo family! The property on which Casa Azevedo is built has been in our family for 32 years, and our parents José Martins and Maria Gomes Azevedo constructed the house in 1986 as a retirement residence. Now this treasured home stands as a testament to their love of gathering as a family. The traditional feel and layout of the home was built with entertaining in mind, and captures the true essence of the Azores. Our family dates back 4 generations on Terceira, and the island culture is a part of us no matter where in the world we are.

South-facing walk out back yard featuring full view of the Atlantic Ocean which is also in view from many parts of the house. Outdoor living space features a 2 level patio - the upper patio for sunning and the stunning view. The lower patio great for shade, relaxing and outdoor meals - including a clay oven and charcoal bbq grill. Large grassed back yard area with 3 mature fig trees, grape vines and side lane for quiet, rural evening walks. Formal flower garden at front of home, closed garage for 1 car.

Interior of the house is spacious covering 2 floors, with 4 bedrooms, and a bathroom on each floor. New tiled floors throughout and brand new full renovation for lower main bath complement the two living rooms and kitchens. Great for people traveling in groups and those who love adventure as well as relaxation time. The expansive ocean awaits!
