Located in the Marine Terrace neighborhood, you’ll be less than one block away from the desirable Shoreline Park which offers open green space, panoramic views of the ocean, a children’s playground, steps to Leadbetter Beach. Walk a tad farther and you’re at the Santa Barbara Harbor where you can book a whale-watching cruise, rent stand-up paddleboards, and choose from a variety of restaurants that are right on the water.

The private upstairs Paradise Retreats loft has been completely remodeled with high-quality finishes and decor. A balcony faces the Channel Islands offering ocean views and a quaint seating area. The Kitchen, Dining Nook, and Living Room flow together anchored by a stone fireplace. The large Bedroom features a walk-in closet, high ceilings, and luxury Bathroom. (Note: There is another separate and private home on the main level).

Please note: (COMMUNAL AREAS RESTRICTIONS): The Property contains communal areas on the property that are restricted and off limits to the guests of Tropical Retreat South. Restricted areas include the backyard area, spa, and all recreation items.​​​​​​​

Great location!

Great location! Beautiful view of the sea! Quiet neighborhood. Comfortable place to relax! Full kitchen was helpful. The listing says air conditioning on the amenities list and there is no AC.

Great property - Would definitely stay again

Everything was great and as promised. Very clean. Only suggestion would be to get a new kitchen table. While the table looks really cool, it not functional at all. No place to really sit comfortably and eat breakfast. I would not let this deter me from renting the property again, it was really nice place and great location.

Paradise on the Mesa

This little piece of paradise on the Mesa was perfect for this couple. Very well stocked and beautifully decorated. The small balcony made ALL the difference providing round the clock views of the Pacific Ocean, sunrises, sunsets, full moons, twinkling lights from boats and even the oil platforms off the coast. Just the right amount of space for 2 people for coffee or cocktails with comfy bar height chairs and bistro tables. And constant entertainment from hummingbirds buzzing all around. Quiet neighborhood just one block from Shoreline Park which is a walker’s paradise overlooking the ocean. Short walk to the Park, Ledbetter Beach, Shoreline Cafe, the Marina/harbor and Stearns Wharf, lower state Street and the funk zone. We walked and biked 90% of the time to everywhere we wanted to go for our 5 week stay. Grocery stores, coffee shops and cafes all within a mile. If you love the water, the Mesa location can’t be beat. The apartment had everything we needed. Super comfy king size bed. Huge walk-in closet. Full size stackable washer/dryer. Cozy gas fireplace for chilly evenings. Well appointed kitchen and 2 large TVs (but who needs a TV in Santa Barbara?!) Street parking was never a problem. Host company was very responsive and helpful with any questions/issues we had. We can’t wait to return!

Family visit

My wife and I visited our family in Santa Barbara. The apartment was wonderful, the view from the balcony was great, especially to see the fireworks on July 4 was impressive. Thanks to Paradise Retreat things were made easy.

Best place to stay in Shoreline Park area Santa Barbara

Tropical Retreat South, Ocean View Loft is a wonderful place to stay. Relaxing, great neighborhood, convenient to Shoreline Park / ocean walks and views, easy to get to downtown Santa Barbara and many wonderful mesa hikes. I highly recommend the amenities and responsiveness of the host company. Truly wonderful experience! We stayed an entire month!!

Don’t hesitate this is THE one!

Probably one of the nicest vacation rentals I’ve stayed in and I’ve stayed in a lot! This was a last minute trip for us and we consider ourselves so fortunate to have found this beautiful little oasis. We were on a long weekend romantic getaway and this place could not have been more perfect. Immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and high end everything, steps to the beach and had everything we needed. We can not wait to come back. Management was responsive and highly knowledgeable when we called ahead to find out what kind of coffee maker the home had they were fast and very friendly to get us the info and offer suggestions for the area. It’s a keurig coffee maker btw. Don’t hesitate for a second. Book this fantastic space!

Wonderful I will be back.

I travel to Santa Barbara three times per year to visit friends and hike on the Islands. I have found a new and wonderful place to stay. East Mesa is perfect and will return. Thanks for the bottle of wine, nice touch.

Nice experience

Great location. For the most part quiet neighborhood. Toddlers next door, up and outdoor at 7:00 am., though not a problem with a couple from Texas on CST. Unit had an ant problem which was brought to mgmts. Attention. None the less, will try to stay here again.
