Hi there and thank you for your review. As I responded to you on your departure date we have had a record breaking rainy season here. We make every effort to make sure our homes are fresh smelling and clean for your arrival. It did rain throughout your stay and the home is surrounded by forest and near water. After the rain stops the atmosphere inside the home clears up as well. Again I do apologize that you were bothered by it. We welcome you back anytime! Thanks so much! Galax Management

Perfect Mountain Escape

This conveniently located cabin provided a perfect mountain retreat. It is spacious, clean, and very well appointed. The large deck overlooking the lake has ample seating including a fire table. Our host, Holly, was responsive and easy to communicate with. Excellent instructions were provided and everything worked like a charm. This "hideaway" provided everything we needed and wanted. We definitely would like to do a return visit!

Traffic noise was an issue particularly in the early morning. Driveway was somewhat of a challenge being quite steep. The property is comfortable

Could be great

Dining and bedroom furniture were of good quality. Living room and porch furniture need improvement. You will hear noise from Franklin Road too.

Lake stay

This house is wonderful! Nice open floor plan. Loads of deck space. Great view of the lake. Very comfortable beds. Whole house was clean. Loved the binder that contained instructions and things to do. We really liked not having to keep up with a key for the house. The combination locks worked really well. My husband loved the All-clad cookware! Also thank you so much for having a freezer that made ice!! Those little things make a big difference. Close to scenic overlooks and two waterfalls just down the road. Our stay was fantastic! Next time we go to Highlands we will stay there again!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The layout of the home was perfect. The property manager went above and beyond to help us with local events, where to fish and was extremely attentive. We recommend this place and hope to return.

A nearby location, easy to check in but close to the road

This property was close to downtown Highlands, which suited us perfectly. It’s very close to the road, so the view shown is across busy 64. The kitchen is well stocked and it was easy to check in and check our.

Beautiful setting

The location is ideal, the view of the lake very peaceful and the deck is a great getaway. The only negative is that there is a lot of traffic on Franklin Road so not as quiet as I had hoped for.

Beautiful property, convenient location

The cabin was just as described, and bigger than I expected. There is lots of room to lounge. The furniture is nice, beds and linens very comfortable, and the kitchen is well-equipped. I liked being just 5 min from town, although being on the highway gets in the way of hearing the lake noise or birdsong. The view is beautiful and there is lake access and kayaks, however be aware there isn't a dock, which makes swimming less of an option.
