Santa Barbara charm, elegance, and cultural importance are wrapped up in one at Paradise Retreat's Casa del Sol. This Spanish Adobe sits in the desirable West Mesa neighborhood. You’ll be perfectly situated between the beach and local amenities. Mesa Lane beach access and the Douglas Preserve are steps away, and just a few blocks further are Lighthouse Coffee, Lazy Acres market, and several dining options for all your nourishing needs.

Built in 1925, this hacienda-style home has a rich history. It’s a redirected landmark that's also named the ‘Charles Pressley Adobe’ after one of the town’s first El Presidente’s of our annual Fiesta celebration. Tucked away behind a gate and private wall, this estate offers ideal privacy and serenity on a quarter acre. Fully restored, the four-bedroom and three-bathroom home is complete with modern amenities and tasteful touches. Delicate arches, wood ceilings, stone fireplace, and luxurious linens abound. Outside enjoy being immersed in all-encompassing lush gardens while smelling the sea air. Don't be surprised if you feel like shouting "Viva la!" upon entering.

Beautiful home tucked away from the crowd. Very large. Perfect entertainment home. Beds were amazing. We definitely will be back. The staff was very responsive. We arrived after dark and home was all lit up and inviting. Thank you.

Absolutely stunning home!!

This house was perfect for us and our adult children!! Everything in the home was high end, clean and very comfortable!! Lots of hang out spots for all of us. Anything we needed was within walking distance including the beach. Loved our stay there!!

lovely spot!

we enjoyed our stay...the house was nicely maintained, well-stocked and big enough for 6 adults to comfortably stay. we were not 'home' much due to a wedding and wedding festivities, so i can't speak about cooking there, but we were happy with the house and it met our expectations.

Perfect in every way!

What a gem this house and property! The grounds are beautifully landscaped and full of humming birds! There are so many indoor and outdoor spots to get away to read a book or have a great conversation. The neighborhood is lovely and walkable on the beach. The house is decorated with so many special details and well stocked to cook and enjoy a wonderful meal in an ideal setting! I highly recommend this beautiful well cared for historic home!

Wedding weekend

Comfortable and spacious home to visit with our friends and family during a busy weekend. Used hot tub and outdoor seating areas. Beds very comfy. Was worried about no AC but house is naturally cool. Beautiful home.

Great, Quiet Place

The house is very nice and the 4 bedrooms are spacious. Neighborhood is very peaceful and was quiet at night. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. While the location is great, just know the beach access from the house is limited and not much is within walking distance. This wasn't a problem for us, but just know you will need to drive to take that evening stroll along the beach.

Fiesta Fun

We stayed at Casa del Sol for three days during Old Spanish Days. It was a special, magical place for our family because our great grandparents were in the original dance group for the first Santa Barbara Old Spanish Days Fiesta, and Casa del Sol was the home where the first El Presidente, Charles Presley, lived in 1924. Such a rich, historical space in a beautiful location. It was an experience we all cherished.

Just perfect

Spacious, well stocked, split floor plan - worked perfect for our group of 6-8. The home is stunning. Kitchen is upscale. Primary is spacious, but you might consider sleep masks as the beautiful skylights brighten the room by 5:00am. All beds / bedding / linens were terrific and very comfortable. The charming, private backyard offers both sun and shade during the day. It was 75-90 degrees during our mid-June stay and the home was plenty cool (no AC). Truly a gem in every way. Can't wait to come back - terrific experience.

The home was beautiful and incredibly comfortable! It had everything we needed and more and made for a wonderful family vacation for my little sister’s wedding. Fantastic location, clean, great bedding, upscale throughout. Highly recommend and we look forward to visiting again.
