Beautiful oceanfront home with incredible views and a shoreline that is nothing short of majestic! From fiery red sunsets that last forever to whales so close you can hear them grab some air to eagles that fly so close you can look them in the eyes, everyday brings wonders and memories you will cherish a lifetime.

Harry John's House is a expertly renovated, 150 year old home that features a truly unique vacationing experience. Complementing our 2 traditional bedrooms is a wonderful loft that children absolutely love! Still, a kid at heart will also find relaxing sleep there after a memorable day of Newfoundland adventure.

Our home offers a private and secluded getaway, with only birds, whales and boats to disturb the quiet. Still, we are close to all the action and beauty of many popular destinations. And of course, we are less than an hour from the St. John's airport.

It really does just take one visit to fall in love.

This home was lovely. It was beautifully appointed and in a beautiful location. Looking out the window at Cupids Cove, fishing boats, whales, eagles and other birds was entertaining. Owners were attentive and responded quickly though there really were no issues. We loved our vacation there.

Beautiful place to stay

We had a wonderful stay. The house was remodeled and is even better than the pictures! It was spacious, comfortable and had all that we needed. The view from the second level was beyond picturesque especially at sunset. We saw whales right outside in the bay and the hiking trail right by the house was amazing!The owner was quick to respond and super friendly.

Stunning Cupids retreat!

This amazing property sits on one of the most ideal locations in all of charming Cupids, Newfoundland. The home has been meticulously restored, with modern amenities and furnishings. We literally saw whales from the great room windows every day during our stay! The location made it easy for us to explore the Avalon Peninsula and we never lacked for activities or destinations to fill our days. The owner was incredible, provided lots of information about the area and responded to any questions we had promptly. Highly recommend this property!

Ocean Breezes, Evening Sunsets!

Enjoyed the spectacular views and proximity to the ocean; the quiet location; easy access to grocery shops and restaurants. Loved that we were close to family history locations for research purposes. Interior spaces were comfortable, bright, clean and well-furnished.

Lovely stay by the ocean

This place was tidy, quaint and has a beautiful ocean view from a big upstairs window. We loved the town of Cupid for its history and beauty. We did day trips into St. John’s and attractions around the Island and found many things in a reasonable distance. The host checked in to see if we needed anything occasionally, which was nice. We had a wonderful family vacation and this lovely seaside home was a great part of it.

Beautiful ocean front home

The house is beautiful, clean, and well equipped with everything you need. The property has beautiful views of the ocean from inside and outside. Lots of parking. Communication with the host was great, responds quickly and very helpful. Would stay here again

Beautiful seaside house

The house has been updated to provide every convenience and comfort for guests. The great room has an amazing outlook and we enjoyed looking out at the fishing boats. The host was responsive to our needs and readily provided a high chair for the 1 year old in our group. It was a relaxing stay.

Beautiful Property; Great Location

Over the past 3 decadesI have rented properties in the UK, France, Italy, the USA and Canada, all in the same price range. This one is the best; fully renovated, fully equipped and a completely unobstructed view of the ocean. The owner, Chad, is very responsive and helpful. This property is very highly recommended.

This is a beautiful home that has been impeccably restored to every last detail. There are amazing views of sunsets through large windows in the main living area and nearly every other room in the house. Two decks closer to the water provide an even closer platforms to view whales that regularly pass. The nearby hiking trail can’t be beat. Chad’s enthusiasm for the property and communication was great! We hated to leave.

Amazing property and setting

We enjoyed our stay and wished we would have planned a longer visit here. The house is nicely updated and had everything we needed. When we inquired about fresh lobster, Chad made arrangements for us and got us the supplies we needed. The location afforded a spectacular view and a quiet setting. We were still close to shopping, sites, restaurants, and trails though. We enjoyed sitting outside in the morning with our coffee and other beverages in the evening. We saw whales go by daily and, on calm days, could even hear them.

Best stay in Newfoundland

This was my first time using the VRBO app and I have to say that it was nothing short of amazing. Chad and Rachel knew that I was staying here the night before my wedding and a few days and made everything absolutely perfect! They stocked the fridge with some items for breakfast, stocked the bar fridge with some drinks and even prepared a surprise for my husband and I to come back to the night of our wedding (rose petals on the bed, bubble bath, candles, a charcuterie board and some prosecco). One thing I can’t forget to mention is also the breathtaking views! If you’re unsure of where to stay I wouldn’t think twice to stay here again. Thank you again for the unforgettable stay! :)

Beautiful and Peaceful Stay in Newfoundland for the Whole Family!

We had no doubt that Harry John's House would be a winner for our family. The pictures and description were spot on. The place is completely renovated, updated and full of character and charm. The kids loved the loft spaces and there was plenty of room for our 2 families to spread out for relaxing and play. The ocean view from the large windows in the open concept, 2nd floor family room was spectacular! We even saw whales (twice)! The campfire area and grassy side and backyard were perfect for the kids to explore. We also treked down the cliffs to find sea urchins and shells, walked the windy road through Cupids to the harbour to forage for seaglass and enjoyed the marked trail around the stunning cliffs just up the hill from the house. This location has it all and is pure Newfoundland - just like the amazing host, Chad. The neighbouring towns have lots to offer and we enjoyed daily excursions full of sights, hikes and amazing food. We will definitely be back because we have so much more to see and do.
