Explore one of the largest archeological sites in the Four Corners region from the comfort of this 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom vacation rental home in Cortez. Located just outside of the downtown center, this rental combines beautiful mountain views and modern amenities. Take a day trip to experience the wonders of Mesa Verde National Park or hike trails at the nearby 122-acre Hawkins Preserve. Prepare a meal in the fully equipped kitchen before settling on the covered patio and watching the sunset.

This is a very lovely, cozy and clean home with all the amenities. The host were very friendly and shared their knowledge of the area. It is a perfect location to do day trips in the area. The views are beautiful, and you can catch an incredible sunset from the property. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful house with super hosts!

This house was perfect for our 5 night stay in the area while hiking, etc. Clean, cozy, quiet with everything we needed and more. Hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful, even inviting us to a local archaeological group talk. We would definitely stay here again if we revisit the area. We have stayed in dozens of vacation rentals over the years and this one will be remembered. 10 out of 5 stars!!!

Perfect for a family of 4

The house was very clean, it's the perfect size for a family of 4. The kitchen is well equipped. The owners were very responsive when we needed them. Great location close to town but not in town and central to so many things to see. The pictures are a little misleading as they give you the impression the house is isolated and by itself. It turns out there's another house almost attached to it at the back (which, retrospectively, you can see on one of the pictures). We arrived at night and missed the number. We were looking for a small stand alone house and couldn't find it, because it's not alone. It's not enough of an issue to take out a star or even prevent us from renting it again if we ever go that way again. But on principle it bothered me.

Quaint Home in Great Location

Our stay in this lovely home was excellent. It was located far away enough from town and the major highways to avoid any excessive traffic or city noises, yet is was just a few minutes away from the town of Cortez and all the wonderful restaurants and other shopping opportunities. We tried half a dozen of the local eateries over the course of our 6-day stay and we weren't disappointed by any of them. This quaint little home had a beautiful yard and was a great jumping-off point for visiting Mesa Verde National Park and Canyons of the Ancients. A bonus was watching prairie dogs playing in the pasture adjacent to the home. This as our 3rd time visiting Mesa Verde and the surrounding area but the first time staying a VRBO rental. We would stay here again when we return for more exploration of the culture of the Ancient Puebloan People.

The house was very clean and had all the necessary amenities. There was some confusion with check-in and initial communication with the hosts, but otherwise it was a smooth stay.

Perfect base for exploring the Four Corners area

Judy and Dave provided an exceptional house for our visit. Close to national parks and monuments for an endless number of day trips. The house was appointed with everything we needed at the end of a busy day. Everything we needed was there and any questions we had were quickly addressed. We would highly recommend this property to anyone who is planning a visit to the Mesa Verde area. One of the nicest VRBOs we have rented!

This was just what we needed for our stay in Colorado for the month!

The house had everything you could need for a long stay. The locations was perfect for us to explore the four corners area. Also just a short drive to mesa verde national park for some great views and hikes. Dave was a great host that would respond promptly with any questions we had. I would definitely stay again if I'm ever in the area again.

Perfect location for endless day trips

We stayed for six days, on the event of the Annular Eclipse on Oct 14. The property was perfectly located for our trips to Shiprock and Mesa Verde NP. The beds are terrific. The kitchen fully stocked, the entertainment just right. Our hosts were friendly and responsive. We would definitely stay here again.

This little house has everything you need and so much more. The views are breathtaking, Dave and Judy are lovely, and there is so much to see and do! This is such a great find I've decided to stay a while longer. Hope you love it as much as I do!

Little house in the country

What a wonderful stay we had at the little house in the country! Everything was new and beautiful and it is set in one of the prettiest valley settings with a lovely view of Mesa Verde. It was about a mile outside of Cortez which made it quite convenient. We came to see Mesa Verde, Canyonlands, and Arches National Parks. We also visited Durango and Telluride. The house was comfortable and worked great as our home base.

Great Home, Great Location

I enjoyed everything about the home. Everything is new, comfortable and cozy. Dave and Judy are great people and made sure all of my needs were met. This place has a huge Archaeological site on the property which is fascinating to learn about. Mesa Verde is close by. The views here are fantastic. I really love the huge yard with a giant oak tree in it. A great base to explore the 4 corners region. I will be back again next year.
