Hidden gem

Don't judge a book by its cover. The inside is beautiful and comfortable.

The house smelled funny. The power was out when we checked in (not the fault of the host) and remained out until 10pm. Luckily we could go to a friends house about 20 mins away who had power because when I contacted the host, their response was, "hope it comes back on soon." No help was offered and judging by the amount of people in the neighbourhood that had generators, this is something the hosts should anticipate being an issue in the future. The house looks like they bought a dilapidated old cottage and did the bare minimum to make it a rental. It had missing siding, the concrete steps on the front porch, weren't attached and posed a hazard, some of the linens and the ottoman in the living room were stained, the tub was dirty and looked like it didnt work, the shower floor was unstable and the door handle was broken, the gutters were overflowing and we got soaked everytime we tried to go in and out when it rained, etc. I wish i had taken pictures but I was just happy to get out of there. It was honestly the worst rental ive ever experienced and my first and last rental through vrbo. Do not stay here.
