Our villa was an ideal “headquarters” for our week-long vacation in Puerto Rico. It has a huge living room and dining area with a very nice TV, on which we were able to watch all of the games of our beloved Boston Red Sox in the evenings. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, glasses, cookware and utensils, so we were able to cook breakfast and a few odd meals over our week. When we needed something, Carlos the owner immediately jumped in to respond - once for a missing bottle opener, and when the toaster handle jammed, Carlos had a new one express-shipped and toasting our bagels only a day later!
The bedrooms are both spacious and very comfortable - I don’t know what it was about the mattress, but it was just right. The master bedroom has a sliding door out to a huge, nicely furnished balcony overlooking a pond full of turtles and other wildlife. It was great to go out there while it rained and just relax!
We didn’t spend much time anywhere else inside Palmas del Mar, but there is a shopping area we went to once, and the grounds are certainly beautiful! Watch for iguanas (big ones), co-qui frogs (well, listen for them), and what looked like a white cockatoo that seems to live in the neighborhood. The night skies are great also, thanks to the clear air!
I really am glad I booked with Carlos, and would definitely do so again!
