Recently returned from our FIRST trip to Austin! Lots to offer. Great times and ideal place to stay. Thanks Pete for everything. Wonderful towels. A little distance from Austin proper, but that gives you time to walk and explore Hyde Park. We ate at Asti Trattoria and Quack's Bakery, nearby. Wonderful grocery stores and convenient to the bus stop which takes you directly to the campus / State Capital. We tried to check out the Elizabet Ney Museum, but sadly the day we walked over it was closed. Looks like quite a gem for Hyde Park. Austin has loads of fun things to explore. If you go, don't miss the bats at dusk, The Firehouse Bar, Barton Springs, biking the area, the museums and live entertainment, fests, Lady Bird Lake biking and ... Salt Lick. Definitely worth the drive and BYOB if you make the trip. Fun Texas experience! The only downside is that Uber and Lyft have pulled out. I'm hoping for all that their absence isn't for long. We had 8 drivers during 3 of our days and each one was a mini tour guide for us and your city and surrounding area.
