The Space:
If you’re looking for a peaceful beach getaway, this cozy studio is the place you want to be Akumal, one of the most beautiful places on the coast of the Riviera Maya, Mexico! The condo features gorgeous comfortable furniture, lots of natural light, a Smart TV, and decór in soft earth tones that create a relaxing vibe, just what you need to relax and unwind.

Here you’ll have so much at your fingertips that you may find it hard to venture out from the Santamar complex. Your stay at Santamar will allow you to enjoy life at a serene beachside escape with lovely amenities like the pool and lounge area with a BBQ, and private beach access.

The main spaces of the condo:

- Spacious and luminous OPEN LIVING SPACE with direct access through the floor-to-ceiling glass doors to a private balcony with an ocean view and outdoor seating. Plus, a comfortable sofa bed and living room area with a wall-mounted flatscreen Smart TV that has access to your streaming accounts, great for relaxing downtime moments at home.

- A fully-equipped KITCHEN with a BREAKFAST BAR and 3 bar stools. You can prepare healthy meals at home at any time, and all the appliances and cookware are provided.

- 1 KING BED, SOFA BED and 1 full BATHROOM to accommodate 4 guests.

- A WASHER, DRYER, IRON, and IRONING BOARD in the unit for your convenience.

- There are 5 rooftop pools, one at each tower, and guests have access to all of them! 2 ground-level pools with the larger of the 2 directly behind the building for this condo, a private Santamar Beach Club with 2 more pools, a bathroom facility, and access to a sandy beach.

Guest Access:
Santamar is tucked away in a beautiful jungle setting, accessible only via an unpaved road, so a car is necessary to navigate the road since the property is not accessible by foot.

You’ll have full, exclusive access to the condo and you’ll have shared access to the complex amenities, too, like the multiple pools, the private beach, BBQ, and the grounds.

The Neighborhood:
Akumal is truly a natural wonder. In Mayan, Akumal means “The Place of Turtles”, and it lives up to its name as it’s one the top nesting spots in the Mexican Caribbean, and it hosts a marine research center dedicated to protecting sea turtles. There are also many things to see and do around Akumal, like water activities like snorkeling, scuba, paddle boarding, kite surfing, and boating. Plus, eco-parks with underground rivers, ancient Mayan ruins, cenotes (natural freshwater sinkholes), and much more.

- Nearby vital amenities like small convenient stores all within a short drive to Akumal town. The larger grocery store Chedraui is located on the highway in Puerto Aventuras about 22 km | 14 miles from the property.
- Swim with sea turtles at Akumal Bay (3.2 km|2 mi), visit the Wellness Center or lounge, and eat at La Buena Vida!
- 25 miles to Playa del Carmen & 16 miles to Tulum, fabulous towns with shopping and a large variety of dining options.
- Kay Beach Club is less than a 10-minute drive.
- Tulum Country Club PGA golf course is located across the street from Santamar entrance road.

Getting Around:
Santamar by Tao, is about 94 km or 58.5 miles from the Cancun International Airport (CUN). The development is situated on the beachside of the highway in Akumal and is only accessible by vehicle.

- Kay Beach Club (1 mile away) is a public Beach Club run by Tao, here you can go snorkeling or scuba diving!
- Visit the Akumal Monkey Sanctuary (located in the pueblo/jungle side of Akumal)

Other Things to Note:
Electricity is expensive here, so please help save energy by using the AC only when needed, closing all windows and doors when it's on, and shutting it off every time you leave. A daily allowance of 20Kw/Day of electricity is included for short-term rentals (2-27 nights). Additional consumption will be charged at 3.85 mxn/kw. Electricity is not included for bookings of 28 nights or more. On arrival, our local team will take a meter reading, and again on departure. You will be billed after check-out for any additional consumption.

Please note: There is a 5-minute gravel roadway to get into the development, so having a car is necessary. There is free parking at the complex.

Santamar is a brand-new development and there is ongoing construction work in some units, which could result in potential noise during your stay.

We do supply some bath essentials to get you started, like some toilet paper, and soap. These items are not replenished each time you run out.

For long-term stays (21 nights or more), there is a fee of $60 USD for a mid-stay cleaning service.

There’s an extra charge for additional guests/visitors over the capacity of the property.

Guests will be requested to sign a Rental Agreement upon booking confirmation.

A security deposit may be required prior to check in, subject to the booking platform used to make the reservation. This fee is charged as a credit card transaction and refunded after check-out, provided all terms are met.

Please also note that the property uses surveillance cameras on the premises. These cameras are strictly for security reasons only.

Lastly, long-term stays are available. There’s also a laptop-friendly space inside. Great for the remote worker!

HOUSE RULES
- Travelers must be at least 21 years of age or older to book.
- No smoking of any kind (tobacco or cannabis) is allowed in the condo, and the use of any recreational drugs on the premises is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply will incur a $300 penalty.
- No parties or events are permitted, illegal activity is prohibited, and excessive noise won't be tolerated. No loud music is allowed after 10 pm. Please be respectful of the neighbors.
- No more guests than those listed in your reservation are allowed. No tent or other structures may be set up on the ground of the property.
- Renters agree to cover any charge related to damages that occurred during their stay or cover necessary extra-cleaning charges if such is needed after their stay.
- Renters may be required to provide a government ID on the day of checking in or during their stay.
- Please avoid moving furniture.
- Pets are not allowed.

Interaction with Guests:
The place is self-check-in using the key in the lockbox to enter. All the information you’ll need, like the codes, entrance through the guarded gates, and check-in instructions, will all be provided 3 hours before arrival.

You’ll have complete privacy during your stay, but we’re available 7 days a week. Should you need anything, just send us a message.
