It was a lovely, relaxing retreat. Location was quiet and 2 block walk from the beach. Kitchen was fully set up including condiments in the fridge! We would definitely recommend it to friends.

The house is ok and is in a good location. We have stayed in cleaner houses on the coast for cheaper. Was pretty irritated that we paid that much for a cleaning fee and the house was dirty. When I informed the owner all I got for a response was thanks for the info. No offer of a discount or anything. My wife cleaned the hood above the stove because there was so much grease buildup on it we didn’t dare cook on the stove otherwise. We didn’t even bother with the outdoor grill. It was filthy. There is also missing smoke alarms and co2 detectors. There is only one small tv in the king bedroom so if you want to unwind at night with a movie it’s going to be a slumber party. Needless to say I don’t think we will be back. There are better options.

Great little house

This place was really great for the four of us. The neighborhood was friendly and quiet and there were woods and wildlife all around - frogs in the wetlands, hummingbirds, jays, and a Great Blue Heron hunting the wetland area. The house was very clean and well-supplied for cooking, doing laundry and living. The fire pit in the backyard was a big plus! The property owner is gracious and friendly. We loved it! Only wish it was closer to the beach, but that’s not major.

Perfect week away at River Rock Cottage

What a wonderful time we’ve enjoyed at River Rock Cottage! Grateful for: * Sleeping late in the super comfy bed and waking to birdsong. * Sipping my coffee outside and watching ducks swim on the pond. * Walking down to the beach on a bluebird afternoon. * Playing games in the chic living room. * Cooking and eating delicious meals in the well-appointed kitchen. We returned to Seattle revitalized and dreaming of our next trip to the Oregon coast. Thanks to our hosts for making such a beautiful and relaxing place!

Gorgeous & comfortable beach cottage!

My girlfriend and I stayed two night in this great home and had a wonderful time. The house is located next to anything you would want to do on the north/mid Oregon coast, this area is among the most beautiful coastlines anywhere. The house itself is very well put together and has everything you need and more. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen well outfitted with well made items throughout - it made cooking enjoyable. The home is located walking distance to “town” and the beach. I liked that it is removed enough to also have a wooded cabin feel. Stiff drinks at the dive bar at the end of the street also a plus. Beach house/cabin escape? Yes please!

The River Rock Cottage Rocks!

We loved our stay here. It was like having a state park out the back door but only a few minutes to walk to the beach and all the shops in Rockaway! It was so nice to park the car once and not need it the rest of the weekend. We saw lots of wildlife and just loved sitting on the back porch and enjoying coffee and the nice mountain view. The cottage itself is really charming and well stocked and the open floorplan downstairs was great for having conversation while cooking. Nice, comfy beds and you could tell that a lot of thought went into this place. Just a super charming and fun place to spend the weekend. We'll definitely be back.

Cozy, Quiet, and Comfortable

Cute, cozy cottage

We spent 4 rainy days in Rockaway, and were very thankful for the warmth and coziness of this cute little cottage. Relatives from Texas were with us and they very much enjoyed the sights in between rain storms. It's a great stretch of coastline. The cottage is comfy, well-outfitted, beds are super comfy. The games supplied were appreciated. We had a 4-way Racko tournament all three nights. We love the open feeling of the downstairs and the view of the back woods outside the large windows. Still some work to be done in the yard, but the front driveway is about to get some gravel which will provide a better parking area. We can't wait to come back when the yard is in blossom and the sun makes more of an appearance.
