Prince of Tides (MCA #66)- Meredith Lodging

Ensconced in dappled sunlight in woods alongside a ravine, Prince of Tides is a light-filled two-story cottage with a large partially wrap-around deck with a hot tub perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach. Located just a block from the ocean and three blocks from downtown Manzanita, this home lets your guests strike off on their own on foot. With soaring, wood-lined ceilings, the great room has a beautiful fireplace, TV, leather sofa, and comfy seating for gathering. Hardwood floors, light décor, a wood staircase, and a giant blue marlin on the wall make this unique space open and bright. The dining table sits beside floor-to-ceiling windows to the woods, with extra seating along the kitchen breakfast bar. A gorgeous, fully equipped kitchen will set you up for all the dining in you want; you’ll be close to groceries or take-out given your convenient location. You can also eat outdoors on the back deck, where a dining table, seating and a barbecue are ready for al fresco meals. A side deck has cushioned furniture for relaxing.

A spacious, easy-access bedroom suite on the main level is spacious and has its own TV. Upstairs, a queen bedroom and a bunk room share a hallway bath. Manzanita’s beautiful curved beach with Neahkahnie Mountain looming to the north is a quick walk away, and you’ll have lots of fun exploring Laneda Avenue downtown—you’ll find restaurants, shops, a spa, a wine bar, and lots more. Book a trip to Manzanita and enjoy the beautifully appointed Prince of Tides—it’s hard to beat its excellent location, and even harder to find a more inviting and convivial home!

We all loved the house. It is beautiful, clean, and nicely furnished and equipped. 1 block from the ocean, lovely hot tub. Plenty of cookware available to make a nice dinner every night. A couple of minor repairs need to be made - I mentioned those in an email to the rental company. ..

The location and the building itself were quite nice, but when we arrived there were a few things that we hadn't expected. First, the faucet in the upstairs bathroom leaked whenever the water was turned on; it didn't go under the sink but all over the counter. There was a large drawer in the kitchen that evidently was off its runner as the rear section of it sank onto the drawer below it, making them both hard to open. Although there were plenty of bath towels, there were only three wash cloths and no hand towels available. Finally, there was a bulb out in one of the kitchen fixtures. Fortunately, we stopped at the Meredith main location the next day and were able to get a light bulb and all the extra hand towels and wash cloths we needed. The hot tub was excellent!

A nice comfortable rustic house near the beach and restaurants. The beach is just a few minutes walk and most restaurants are about a 10 minute walk. The house is in a nice location. We came to hike and Oswald West State Park is just a short drive away with many trails. Our favorite was South Neahkahnie Mountain Trail, incredible views from the top. If hiking be sure to have All Trails or a similar app because sometimes the trails are not clearly marked. We did not use it but the house also comes with a large hot tub. Girls trip

Overall, it was very comfortable and a nice home. We would suggest having a hairdryer at the house. Also, in the kitchen it would be nice to have a reusable coffee filter and maybe one size of storage containers for food or bags. The neighborhood was very quiet and in a great location. We were very happy with the property.

Hot tub was amazing!

Beautiful, cozy, clean, and the hot tub was amazing! We were right next to the beach. A local coffee shop and grocery store can be found minutes from the location. Neighbors were quiet. There was a slight issue trying to find the light switch for the lights above the dinning room table. It is in an inconspicuous spot under the counter.

RENTERS BEWARE: MEREDITH LODGING DENIES RENTERS PARTIAL REFUND OVER CHRISTMAS

This property is spacious, clean and in a great location, however, 18 hours into our 4-day trip, the power went out due to a storm with no indication when it might be restored, so we had no choice but to return home. Though we found the property through Vrbo, it took us to a secondary agency MEREDITH LODGING, who refused to give us a partial refund because we didn’t purchase their extra travel insurance. We wrote to them explaining how we were looking forward to this getaway following my breast cancer treatment and the fact that it was the day after Christmas, but they told us without their insurance, we had no recourse. Please review your booking information carefully and if it takes you to MEREDITH, book a your own risk. Thankfully, Vrbo worked with us and did the right thing. We are so grateful to Vrbo.

Wonderful beach stay!

We loved our stay in this cute and quiet house. It is clean, modern and full of light. The furniture was very comfortable, lots of pillows. The shower and bed were a little hard to get in and out of if you are a short person like me. We will definitely stay again!
