Nestled among towering trees in the charming Lakemont Pines community, Cozy Cub is a dog-friendly A-frame cabin that offers the perfect mix of rustic charm and modern comfort. With pine-lined vaulted ceilings and a wood-burning stove, this cozy retreat is ideal for relaxing after a day of outdoor adventure. Stay warm with both a wood stove and central heating in the winter, and connected with high-speed Wi-Fi all year round. Cozy Cub comfortably accommodates 5–6 guests and welcomes up to two well-behaved dogs (see pet policy below).

Just a short stroll from the cabin, guests have access to beautiful, private Tanner Lake—perfect for swimming, paddling, fishing, and soaking up the sun with the family. Adventure awaits with the nearby Arnold Rim Trail and scenic fire roads for hiking, biking, and exploring the Sierra wilderness. For wine lovers, dozens of boutique wineries are located throughout the surrounding mountain communities.

Back at the cabin, unwind with board games, read a book by the wood stove, or enjoy quality time on the deck surrounded by nature. Whether you're reconnecting with loved ones or sneaking in a little remote work, Cozy Cub offers a peaceful mountain setting to do it all.

You will receive your entry code and check-in details 2–4 days before arrival. Please check your junk/spam folder if you don’t see it.
Pet Policy:
Up to 2 well-behaved, housebroken dogs are welcome (must be over 1 year old and not left unattended). A $50 non-refundable pet fee applies. Please note the number of dogs in your reservation.
Note: Exterior-only security cameras are on-site.
Guest Requirements:
Primary renter must be at least 25 years old.
Communication:
Guests will receive a rental agreement and check-in details by their preferred method (email or text) after booking.
Payment Terms: A 2% processing fee applies to all credit card charges. Final payment is due 30 days before arrival. For bookings made within 30 days of arrival, full payment is due at the time of booking. Check payments are accepted if arrival is more than 45 days away—please email us immediately to arrange. If payment by check is not received by the 30-day mark, your card on file will be charged automatically.

Cozy mountain cabin perfect for a family getaway

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at the cozy cub a frame! The beds were comfortable and the wood stove kept us warm. We would love to stay here again in the future.

Perfect Cabin

This quaint town is just a few short hours from the Bay Area and this cozy cabin was perfect for me and my family. Coffee on the deck was amazing with beautiful trees and wildlife. The beds were comfortable and the cabin had everything we needed. There were even games for the kids to play and chairs for the lake. Highly recommend this cozy A Frame Cabin!!!

Wonderful cabin

Overall this was a great cabin in a great location. It was clean and well equipped. Communication with property manager was prompt and the check-in/out process was easy. The HOA lake was really fun. The beds were on the softer side - not as firm as I like but this could be a personal preference. Overall, this is a lovely vacation rental.

Great cabin

We had a great stay in your cabin. It was cozy and comfotable. The couches and beds were comfortable . The onpy complaint was the ants in the tiny kitchen. Never got too bad, but still a bit annoying.

Lovely yet Scary

Lovely place, clean overall, good communication with manager. However way too many spiders and spider webs throughout the house , my daughters slept in the living room due to the spiders on the walls. Bring your own hand soap there wasn’t any

Had A great time. The only small complaint would be the garbage in bear box was already full from previous guests. Had to leave our garbage in house. Otherwise great place.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great stay at this A frame in Lakemont Pines. Location was great being close to the grocery store and restaurants in Arnold. The only criticism or recommendation i have is that the owners invest in newer quality pots and pans as well as silverware. Also, the ice trays are very low quality and actually one shattered when trying to remove the ice and hit my husband in his eye. It could have been a very bad outcome.

weekend snow get away

This was our first time staying here. We loved it. Loved the wood cabin vibe. The Kitchen a very small but just for a weekend away it was fine. The place was pretty clean. The only thing was there was a big dead bug in middle of bathroom floor and the knifes in the kitchen had cobwebs. so it made me unsure of how clean the kitchen utensils where. But not big problem. wash everything first anyway. We felt the beds where much more comfortable then we expected and we where truly grateful for that as we have stay in places where we could not sleep at all which made very unpleasant weekend. SO that was very nice! I feel maybe having a couple small puzzles would be fun activity for families while they stay. there where some games but we brought our own as well. All In all we loved and I I would come back

Arnold Cabin

Overall we enjoyed our stay in Arnold. The cabin is in a beautiful part of the woods. Because it's in the woods there were some bugs in the house, which probably is inevitable to some extent, but the amount of spiders / spider webs did catch us off guard. Several dead bugs on the ground. It was quite hot in the summer without AC, but having the fans going and getting some airflow with the screen doors worked well enough. It usually cooled off enough by the time we were ready to go to bed. There is a laundry machine and dryer in the basement which is accessed through a door with a padlock in the back yard. This was not described at all on the listing and I would have had no idea it was there unless I searched pretty hard and noticed that the VRBO listing said it had laundry / dryer. The internet is fast. The private lake nearby is awesome, especially when it's hot in the summer. You are supposed to have a parking permit for the lake. The one in the house is outdated from last year but nobody said anything to us about it. The location is really great with tons of hiking around. The Arnold Rim trail is just a few minutes away, and Calaveras Big Trees State Park was also just a 10 minute drive. Murphys is a cute town nearby with plenty of wineries and restaurants. Some of the dishes in the cabinets were still quite dirty so we had to wash them before we used them. So to summarize it wasn't the cleanest place I've ever stayed but we still really enjoyed ourselves.

Nice and cozy cabin but needs upgrades and better cleaning

The cabin looks nice and it was pretty quite while we were there. The interior looks pretty nice too. However, I think there are many old things like the furnace that could be upgraded. My main concerns were below items: 1. the place was not safe enough for small kids. I dont think the super old furnace in the middle of the home that makes the covering super hot is safe. Also, stairs and second floor are not up to the code in my view. So, we had to limit the space to a part of first floor for the kids, which in a small cabin is not what you would look for. 2. Lots of dust here and there, spider webs in multiple places and kitchen drawers were not cleaned for ages. 3. No shampoo at all, no spice or anything like that in the kitchen. These small things don't cost a lot but make a big difference. I never was in a place that didnt have any of these and it caused problems for us. 4. We should have paid attention to the description, so i take it as our own fault, but this place doesnt have dishwasher, no washing machine ans obviously no dryer. I think it is a big deal for families.

Instructions were a bit confusing as the name on the listing and the rental agreement doesn’t match that on the info inside the cabin. Info in the cabin says not pet friendly but listing says pet friendly. Checkout directions were a bit doffeeent depending on where you looked. Spider webs as mentioned by other guest were there and a slight turnoff, but it is a cabin in the woods and we didn’t see any crawling guest during our stay. The cabin is cozy and a bit dated compared to others, but overall was a nice stay.
