Not a complainer but

The issues we had was the enormous amount of nats or fruit flies in the home and refrigerator. We also had to pick up no less than a dozen dying roaches in the home. The front door was almost impossible to push open, my wife is a small lady and was unable to open the door.

This stay is a yearly tradition where my grandsons come to spend time on the river with us. It is a wonderful place and so peaceful and the owners are always wonderful to us. Until next time! We will be back.

We keep coming back!

This was the second time my kids and I stayed at this property (and my third!). We absolutely LOVE everything about it! Sure, it doesn't have Wi-Fi, but cell service was just fine. But mostly, my kids (ages 8, 11, 14 &16) love exploring the river. They get along so well together when they're in the water, either riding the current or exploring along the shallow waters and shorelines. And exploring the nature trails. We always find something new each time! We also brought fun board games to play at night and lots of silly conversations. We create SO MANY special memories at this cottage, we're so grateful for it!

The weather was rainy…. The front porch could not have been a better place to spend the evenings… the view of the river was fabulous I slept better than I have in a very long time

Weekend Getaway with Kids

We had no complaints other than…we should have stayed longer! We will be back to explore more with our 3 and 1 year old! Jane made sure to have accommodations especially for our kids (crib, toys, guard rail for twin bed). Didn’t have to pack much but clothes! We’re already looking at dates to return!

Raving about River’s Edge

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the River’s Edge and beauty and peace providing along the Bogue Chitto River. I enjoyed sipping coffee on the River bank watching the sun rise and early morning strolls through the Bamboo Forest! The cottage was well-appointed and very comfortable. I highly recommend River’s Edge.

Wonderful stay at River’s Edge

The best getaway for a long weekend

We absolutely loved our stay here! The hosts were so sweet and accommodating! The view of the river was fantastic and my children had a blast. They did not ask me for an iPad the entire time and I ever heard “I’m bored”. We will definitely be back!

Quiet country stay

Nice and quiet country setting with a nice view of the river. The only thing that would have made it better was a walkway of some sort down to the river. Very relaxing place to unwind.

A perfect place for rejuvenation!

I couldn't have asked for a more peaceful and magical place for my solo weekend away from the city! The view from the bluff is absolutely gorgeous, and even better when you brave the ladder down into the water (it's very sturdy!). The cottage was meticulously clean and thoughtfully updated, and the queen bed was super comfortable. I spent most of my time swimming and napping, and a little exploring around through the bamboo forest. There are many great places to nap, my favorite being the front porch day bed! Don't pass this one up!

Adorable cottage in the woods

My friends and I had an absolutely lovely time at this little cottage. It was quaint, well-appointed with all the essentials, and was remarkably clean and comfortable. The setting in a woodsy area with a running creek at the back of the house was charming and serene. We enjoyed the trails along the property. The hosts were amazingly hospitable. Definitely recommend.

2022 Camping Trip

We really enjoyed our stay. We liked the fact that there was no TV and no internet. The view is beautiful. The trails were fun to hike. The river is beautiful to look at. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Very roomy and comfortable. Very quiet surroundings. We will definitely be back.

Very Relaxing

This house was everything we needed. Quiet, secluded, and unplugged. We didn't realize how much we needed a weekend away from TV, internet, and cellphones until we stepped away. Loved the sounds of the river and the bamboo popping and cracking against each other in the wind. Very easy to check in and out. Host quickly answered any questions we had.

Our Family Healed Here

We absolutely loved staying here. The fact that it was so remote and did not have cable only made our experience that much better. The walking trails are beautiful and getting to know the areas history by viewing old landmarks was incredible. We really felt like we have our kids a piece of our childhood before all the technology of today. We will absolutely be back!
