Perfect for a family or great for two couples since there are 2 separate living areas with a shared full kitchen. The towns of Lunenburg and Mahone Bay are 20 minutes away giving you multiple restaurants to enjoy and unique places to experience.

The property was very clean and tidy. There were lots of towels and spare sheets if needed. My husband and I stayed for 10 days; we enjoy locations that are a bit secluded so it feels like it’s just us - this property had that feel. Mike the host was wonderful! Super attentive and very kind - exceeded our expectations. Sunsets were beautiful! We went into Lunenburg regularly, but also to Halifax, Peggy’s Cove and drove to the most southern tip in Nova Scotia. Lovely place to stay!
Lots of deer in the area.

Very relaxing setting. Beautiful sunsets and views. Short distance to Lunenburg and Mahone Bay. Used kayaks that were provided on calm inlets. Enjoyed drinks on the covered deck watching birds, seals and boats. Cottage was very clean, comfortable and well stocked. Host was very accommodating and easy to contact.

We loved our stay at this house. It had one of the most peaceful settings we’ve experienced in a rental. The views from the back porch and the side deck were wonderful. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, and the kayaks were very accessible. There was even a clothes line. Really this place was everything we could ask for. The views of the water were the best.

Perfect location. Close to Lunenberg, but far enough to have a peaceful setting. Kitchen had what was needed. Loved sitting out on the deck and enjoying the sunshine. Mike even called to check in on us which was much appreciated. Highly recommend this cottage, however if you need everything on one level this is not the place. 5 stars!

Amazing place on the ocean!

Amazing property shared with three kids (7,4,2)! Was great for family time with easy access into Lunenburg and the surrounding area.

Just what we were looking for

This is a beautiful property, right on the water, with easy access to the water. Inside the house, it was spacious, with two separate living rooms. We would definitely stay there again!

Lovely spot

If you are looking for a secluded spot, this is the place. We enjoyed going for walks and kayaking around the island. The kitchen is spacious so we did a fair bit of cooking, although it’s a short drive into town to go out to dinner if that’s what you prefer. The only drawback is that the downstairs bedroom was a bit loud because of pumps turning on and off at night, but if you’re a sound sleeper that shouldn’t be a problem.

Perfect Get Away

This was an awesome location to get away from everything and everyone but still close enough to Lunenburg Such a beautiful spot by the water. The home was well equipped and the pictures did not do it justice.

Hideaway on the water

Spacious and with everything you need. Wonderful host answers texts within the hour. The wood paneling is gorgeous and the place was very clean. Very comfortable beds. And a deck with a wonderful view of the water.

Brilliant stay on Heckman's Island

Beautiful cottage on the water on Heckman's Island near Lunenbergy, Nova Scotia. Very quiet. Great for some down time. Great host. We would certainly recommend. Thanks Mike.

Quiet, relaxing stay

Very tranquil setting to enjoy sunrise and sunset. Lots of deer on the drive in and they don’t mind you stopping to photo them and watch them feed. House is cozy and comfortable. Folks with mobility issues might want to consider other options as there are a good number of steps. Loved our stay!

Scenic and tranquil views.

Great spot to stay and not far from Lunenburg. Check in was easy and the host was prompt to get back to us with any questions. The place was very clean and comfortable. A nice quiet area to go and get away from it all and enjoy seaside nature with lots of seabirds and deer that would pay the occasional visit. Lots of space inside and on the deck where we spent most of our time reading and taking in the scenery. Everything you would need is provided. Having access to the kayaks and paddle board was great. Would definitely stay again. Thank you.

IF you want something private and beautiful this is the place. It is off the beaten path but well worth it. Getting to see deer every day was amazing. You can even roll down your window and talk to the them. It was exactly the peace we needed. The view is breathtaking.

Calm and quiet

From waking up and having coffee on the deck to nightly Bonfires by the water. You would almost assume there were no neighbors it's so relaxing and calm. We even had a visit from a few Deer one morning. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and would definitely come back again.

Better than pics!

We were lucky enough to stay at this property. It was even nicer than the pics made it appear. The kayaks and stand-up paddle boards were a nice bonus. Just about everything was anticipated by our host. He was also very responsive. 10/10 will definitely stay again!
