RiverSong Retreat

Welcome to peaceful, retro-style RiverSong Retreat situated on 5 acres of pristine land. Relax & unwind in nature, with only birds & the sound of the river below. Stroll to the river for a dip in our private swimming hole. Secluded, spacious, a perfect base to explore the stunning Kauaeranga Valley & Coromandel Forest Park. The renowned Pinnacles walking track is only a short drive up the valley. At day's end soak in the gorgeous outdoor spa pool. Fast wifi, smart TV & fab books for rainy days!

The interior was recently painted & furnished. Modern appliances and excellent quality beds and furniture will make your stay luxurious.

Guest access

Full, exclusive access to the house and land around the house. Enjoy exploring the 5 acre property and walk down to the river and swimming hole. The barn behind the house, garden sheds and lower paddock (unless accessing the river) are not accessible.

Other things to note

The property has a self-contained studio at the back of the house. This is where the owners live, as well as a young Border Collie/Huntaway puppy Bella, and 2 cats Rakaia & Rio. Rakaia likes to visit the house guests, please let us know if you don't want him to bother you. Bella is on leash and all going well won't pay you a visit.

Your peace and privacy is important to us, but we are on hand should you need anything.

Loved the setting! Proximity to the Pinnacles hike and the hot tub before, after and the morning after the hike. Peter and Sarah were very responsive and we loved the visits from Bella and the cats.

Riversong retreat is so cozy and relaxing. It was perfectly clean. The host was very welcoming. It’s the perfect place to stay when hiking The Pinnacles. The beds are very comfy, it’s got a fully functional kitchen, and the spa pool is great after hiking. The beautiful gardens should be mentioned too. We really enjoyed our stay.

We had a gorgeous stay at RiverSong Retreat. The house is so comfortable, the sun nook so inviting and the river is magical. It was a great spot for a few days catchup with friends or family. The house was very clean and had everything you could need.

Wedding accomodation

This stay was booked to be close to my son’s wedding venue. We were three adults and we really enjoyed our stay. It was very clean, spacious, and private. It was so peaceful, located away from the main centre. I gave 4 stars for accuracy of listing since there was nomention of a dog on the property in the listing.

Peaceful and spacious

Exactly as advertised! Beautiful property & really peaceful. Only 10 mins from Thames if you need a shop or a restaurant, but it feels so secluded.Great communication from host. And ALL the beds we used were VERY comfy, including the bunks, which were big enough for adults. Also appreciated having more than enough towels, which is sometimes not the case at a holiday home.The only thing to note is to take your own everything if you want to cook. No oil, spices, etc, or plastic wrap, paper towel, tin foil, which was a little annoying. Great stay. Nice home. Worth the rate.bunks which were

The best getaway

We loved our stay at RiverSong Retreat. Amazing views, lots of different seating areas. The house has everything you need. Was also a great place to stay to do the Pinnacles Walk. Would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone needing to stay close to the Pinnacles or Thames.

Amazing spot for the Pinnicals hike

We loved our stay at Riversong Retreat. The house and grounds are stunning and it was the perfect spot to stay for a hike up to the Pinnicals. The hosts were extremely accommodating when we had to adjust our hike due to the weather and offered a later check out. The spa pool was a welcome luxury after a long walk! Highly reccommend.

Beautiful spot and very comfy holiday home

Stayed at Riversong for 2 nights to climb the Pinnacles. All the beds and sofa are super comfy, kitchen is well equipped, just remember to bring your olive oil and spices etc if you intend on cooking. The spa pool was a life saver after a long walk. The river swimming spot just down from the house is gorgeous, with a platform for jumping in if you're brave enough. Such a short drive from Auckland. Will definitely be back soon. Thanks!
