Updated Oceanfront Home has Panoramic Ocean Views and a Large Fenced Yard

Cabana J - Meredith Lodging

When you want simplicity with a magnificent ocean view, a stay in Cabana J will put your next coastal stay on the right footing. This adorable one-bedroom oceanfront cottage has all the desirable amenities - a fenced yard, dogs allowed, ping pong table, cornhole, beach wagon, picnic table, and beach access close by. The king bedroom makes this a sweet spot for a romantic getaway; the leather sofa in the living room is also a queen sleeper, so Cabana J is also good for a couples retreat or small family. You’ll love watching the ocean as you dine at the table for four—even the couch has an ocean view!

The pretty fenced yard is where you’ll want to spend your time, though! Situated on a cliff above the sea, Cabana J gives you sky-high, panoramic views north to Cascade Head, and beach and surf views to the south. Gulls whirl and call overhead, pelicans skim the waves, and the sky blazes at sunset. A picnic table and barbecue let you grill and dine outside, and it’s an easy walk to a sloping beach access for walking on the sand. The Oceanlake District’s movie theatre, bakery, restaurants and shops are well worth exploring a few short blocks away. The rest of Lincoln City, Depoe Bay and Newport are easy day trips. Try a visit to the charming Cabana J—you’ll love its proximity to activities and its remarkable setting high above the sea!

Hard to complain when the weather and the view were excellent for our stay. I wouldn't recommend 4 people stay here, as it is small. The light in the bathroom kept coming on by itself, it needs to be fixed. 2 rolls of toilet paper is never enough!! I'm a clean freak, l wiped down the top of the fridge and the table and they were dirty. I love that we could bring our little dog, but the the carpet is old and smells like dogs. We would stay again.

I wish I could give this property 5 stars but I can’t. The ocean view was breathtaking. Unfortunately, the back yard was nothing but dead weeds. The property was prettily old and to our surprise, the bed was very soft and comfortable. Unfortunately, the property smelled like pet urine. I believe the property was clean, the carpets are just really old.

Thank you for noting the ocean view and the comfortable bed — I’m so glad those aspects stood out. I’m sorry the backyard was a disappointment and that you detected a pet smell. We will have housekeeping schedule a deep clean and will speak to the homeowner about arranging additional landscaping promptly. We truly appreciate the feedback and will use it to improve.

Amazing view and easy beach access! The house was small but very clean and nicely redone- perfect for two (and our dog enjoyed the fenced yard) A great location - short walk to beach access with some amazing tide pools right at the beach access. A short walk or drive to stores and food.

Dirty musty carpets, broken lamp switch, old unsafe doors and knobs, broken knob on closet door, no mats to wipe feet, very uncomfortable seating in dining and living, no shades or screens on two windows, unkept lawn, holes from other dogs and sandy near house, wet rusted unsafe lounge chairs, wet towels left in dryer, fry pans filthy old and unusable, only two laundry pods enough for their towels, no hand soap in kitchen. Not a pleasant stay, would not recommend or stay there ever again!

We're very sorry your stay fell short of expectations. Thank you for the detailed feedback — we take these concerns seriously and have already begun addressing them: We will have our maintenance team inspect and address the switch, handles, lawn and lounge chairs. Our housekeeping team will inspect and address the carpets and the fry pans, as well. The team is also currently working on overhauling our soap/supply kits. Effective next week, the kits will be revamped to include more of everything, so that our guests don’t worry about running out too quickly. Thank you for the suggestions regarding the mats, seating and window coverings. We will consider those when next planning home upgrades. We sincerely regret that this stay was not pleasant and appreciate you calling these items out, enabling us to quickly prioritize improvements.

The house had everything we needed and was in a great location. It's a small, cozy home that could use some maintenance. The bathtub and sink were both clogged and slow draining, there were some nails sticking out of the floorboards and dog poop in the yard. We still had a great time here and the view of the ocean was absolutely incredible. Be sure to check out LC/DC for the best donuts!

Thank you for the review and for choosing Meredith Lodging. We’re glad the home had what you needed, the location worked well, and you enjoyed the ocean view. I’m sorry about the slow drains, exposed nails, and the dog waste in the yard; that’s not the standard we expect. We’ve shared your notes with maintenance and housekeeping so these items can be addressed. If there’s anything else we could have done to earn five stars, please message us through the Vrbo app; we’d really appreciate the feedback. We hope to welcome you back soon!
