Awatea Cottage: Luxury Abel Tasman Getaway

Treat yourself to one of the best views in Motueka in the self-catering luxury accomodation, Awatea Cottage. Looking out over the Motueka River, surrounding orchards, vineyards and Tasman Bay, Nelson and Richmond mountain ranges from the peace and quiet of your sun-soaked deck.

This charming cottage is a luxurious and private three room (one bedroom) building. You will be delighted by the quiet and careful attention to detail that welcome you here at the doorstep for Abel Tasman National Park.
Other things to note
The Cottage sits at the top of a steep sealed driveway making the access unsuitable for most campervans or other large/heavy vehicles.

We have free range chickens, a cat and a dog on the property.

The Cottage was better than described, luxurious and provided everything you could ask for in a holiday rental. Great view, welcoming hosts. There was fresh milk and eggs in the fridge and a bunch of other useful stuff. We used the cling film and a plastic bag from the drawer to pack lunch for a trip on the aqua ferry which we also thoroughly recommend.

An amazing place to stay with a wonderful host

We had spent almost a week up in Abel Tasman Park at Awaroa so had been busy hiking, swimming and watching the tides. After all the running about, boat trip up and back this was a super relaxing stop for a couple of days. The view out over the river to the sea and distant mountains is fantastic and we woke up to a brilliant red sunrise. We did laundry and fed some of my breakfast croissant crumbs to the chickens. Its was great.
