Beautiful Architecturally Designed Cottage in Blue Mountains w/ Valley Views

Located in the mid-mountains, Chiltern is located on an acre that backs on to the Blue Mountains National Park , with no adjoining properties on these boundary lines on the south or western boundary of the property, while the home to the east is owned by a family based in Sydney is rarely occupied. To the north is the street frontage, with a thick verge that is planted with two tall, dense garden beds that offer a substantial privacy screen from the road. This means guests will often enjoy a rare quiet not afforded by most guest houses. The home itself is architecturally renovated, with the original cottage encased in the new dwelling, showcasing the layers of history and each owners sensitive touches. The fireplace in the living room is a cosy focal point for lounging and enjoy drinks or a movie. Guests are surrounded by the owner's art collection and the interior has been attentively considered after years of the owners living in the space. The cottage garden is award winning and sustainably designed, with a beautiful variety of continentals—that act as a firebreak— and natives closer to the bush. There is also a pond with a water feature home to a variety of frog species from Banjo Frogs to Peron's Tree Frogs, that also provides much needed hydration during bushfires to local bird life. It is birdscaped for the local birds and houses a wide variety of species from Honey Eaters, that occupy the low lying shrubbery, to the elusive Wonga Pigeons. While the cottage gardens charm is pleasant and calming for guests, the splendor of the bushland in the national park, viewable from the cottage and the garden, gives guests an expansive sense of nature's grandeur. Walks in Terrace Falls Valley's are only minutes away by car (also in walking distance) and guests can immerse themselves in a nature bath of spectacular old growth Eucalypts and Turpentine trees.

Lovely house, stocked with everything needed, could do with a day bed/ chaise lounge where the rocking horse is, otherwise clean, quiet, beautiful gardens, very tranquil, and pet friendly, which was fantastic, hosts were great to respond to all questions, and instructions left were all clear, needed more instructions on how to operate under floor heating remote but google sorted it out. Great way to spend a quiet girls weekend, highly recommend

We were in town the the UTMB running festival. It was a great spacious house with excellent heating and a garden the kids love playing in.

The house was clean, the gas BBQ wasn’t clean enough for us to use. The information online said there was a spa whirlpool, which we wanted, however there wasn’t one. This must have been an error on the advert. The kitchen was very well equipped, and had everything we needed.

Thankyou for your feedback Alison. We have never had a spa or hot tub or whirlpool and have not ever listed one as an amenity and suggest you've seen this on another listing you were considering and got your wires crossed. As I mentioned when you called, if you can show me where you saw this information on our listing we'd be happy to refer it to VRBO. We have double checked and no reference is given on our listing on either VRBO or Airbnb. The bbq was cleaned prior to your arrival and required only preheating and oil to temper the plate as per any gas bbq. You asked if we had charcoal for a bbq, We shared it was a gas bbq, leading up to your stay leading us to believe your party did not know how to use a bbq. We were able to accommodate an early check in without pre approval when you arrived unnannounced just a few minutes after our cleaners left 2 hours before the 3pm check in. This was pure luck the house was ready for you as we had guests check out at 10 am that morning and early check ins are never offered on same day change overs. You also placed your recycling in plastic bags in our collections bin which had to be removed and sorted through as any plastic contaminates the recycling and owners are charged fees by the collections company. From these multiple misconceptions and errors in your part, it would be reasonable to assume that you had not read the listing description which is entirely your responsibility.
