The property was exactly as described, hot tub was perfect way to end the day. The rooms were perfect size. Would recommend this property.

Perfect location - we love the Boulder Bay area in Big Bear - just a short drive to the "happening" spots, and we like having a bit of distance from those touristy areas. This was a spacious 2bd/2ba home. The kitchen was very well equipped with impressive appliances. Very comfortable bed. The hot tub in the back yard was great - right near a generously large table with chairs on a deck. There's also a deck with seating in the front yard. Both are pleasant. We didn't use the bbq, but will next time. We would definitely stay here again. We're not into typical Big Bear decor (cabins w/ bear sculptures everywhere) -- there was a big fake furry moose head over the fireplace and raccoon sculptures wrapping around the bed frame -- some folks like that kind of thing. We don't, but not a deal breaker. We were there during the summer and it was unseasonably HOT (there's no A/C in the house) so we had to count on overnight open-the-windows cooling. Not ideal. During the winter I'm sure it'd be cozy and warm - there was a fireplace and central heating. Great to have a washer/dryer available (although we didn't use them). This place would work very well for an extended stay. Bianca was very helpful (remote 'front office'). My husband and I will return!

We appreciate your honest feedback regarding the cabin decor and the lack of air conditioning during an unusually hot stretch. While mountain homes often rely on cooler evening air, we understand how the heat affected your stay and will keep your comments in mind. Cozy Retreat

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at Big Bear! This definitely deserves five stars, but do be aware of a few things before you book. I'll start with the good stuff: soft comfy beds, heater keeps the place toasty, awesome hot tub, convenient kitchen with plenty of dishes, pans, etc., pleasant (but not overdone) mountain decor, great dining table for family meals, big coffee table in living room large enough for puzzles, etc., games and puzzles provided, staff always quick to respond, nice sitting areas in front AND back yards, big backyard with horseshoes, badminton, spa, and gas firepit. The cabin is VERY well organized with just the right things, so that guests can intuitively find what they need. LOVE it! But, be aware of the following before you book. At the time of our stay, the property was listed as being a two minute walk to Metcalf Bay...more like 15 for a fast walker. (I even emailed about this in advance and the rep assured me that it was 2 minutes. It's not. We'd hoped our kids could easily walk to the lake loaded down with fishing poles and tackle boxes.) The house seemed clean until you open the fridge, look under sinks, etc. Not awful, but not freshly cleaned. I couldn't do it myself, because there wasn't any cleaner. Staff couldn't drop it off, so we had to drive to the office around the lake to get it. Be sure to bring your own cooking oil, spices, etc; at least there wasn't a bunch of expired stuff. Know this going in, and you will have a wonderful stay!
