Enjoy the flexibility of the large main house and the newly remodeled completely detached cottage which hosts its own kitchen and three-quarter bath. You'll know this is a place to cherish as a vacation spot year after year the moment you open the door. The joyful charm of this coastal home and cottage is unforgettable.

Enjoy easy access to the beach just half a block away on the oceanfront prom. Then a few short blocks to Broadway with its charming dining, shopping, arcades, carousel, bumper cars, breweries, theater, bike and surrey rentals, and more. Whether your group wants a quiet stay or one filled with activities, everyone will find what they need here. The perfect vacation home for families, couples, and groups alike. The separate cottage is such a sweet bonus which is included with the rental.

The heart of the house is the spacious kitchen, with an island breakfast bar, a large dining table, new appliances, and a stocked kitchen for your culinary needs The main level also features a half bath, a bedroom with a king-size bed, and a three-quarter bathroom en suite.
Head upstairs and find three more bedrooms and two baths. The two front ocean-facing bedrooms have king-size beds, smart TVs, vaulted ceilings with fans, and ocean views. In the hall, you'll find a sleek bathroom with 2 sinks and a walk-in shower. The back bedroom includes two double beds and an en suite full bathroom.

In the courtyard find the newly renovated cozy cottage with a charming retro kitchen, 3/4 bath, queen-size bed, and Smart TV.
The backyard is fully fenced with two entertainment patios, a BBQ, and a toybox with all you need for building the perfect sandcastle! Rounding out this dream vacation home are four off-street parking spaces (no on-street parking).

Please note that boats, trailers, and RVs are not permitted on this property.

The full kitchen and laundry room are much appreciated while traveling with our children. Such easy access to the gorgeous beach and fun shops and restaurants. The bathrooms are quite small but manageable. We’ve stayed here 4 times and hope to keep coming back.

It was well equipped with plenty of towels, bedding and kitchen items. It even had little extras such as sand toys and beach chairs. The location was an easy walk to the beach and the town of Seaside. Suggestions would be to have offered two keys and WiFi for the little house.

However, there were no sheets for the pull outs which was weird and not really okay and they should have a wine opener. Also, the instructions for departure talks about a dishwasher (soap pod was actually on counter for one) which doesn't exist so also strange.

I never want to leave!

I was so relaxed and happy here. There were sand toys for the kids and we didn’t need to walk far to the beach at all. My favorite room was the sun room. Perfect spot to get away from everyone else and have a cup of coffee in peace. Plenty of sleeping space and loved the privacy option in the cottage! I will definitely stay in this house again very soon. The yard was sooo nice and wish I would have BBQd it was the perfect setting.

Relaxing place for a family vacation

The description of the property is accurate - but you have to be careful with the electric - using more than one appliance at a time will likely blow fuses. It has a fresh coat of paint throughout and the kitchen and bathroom are well maintained. The carpet throughout and the couch in the living area could use a refresh. We don't use the guest house for much other than an extra bathroom - it's not in the best shape. OBV provided prompt and friendly service. We would stay here again and we'd recommend it to others.

Great mother daughter getaway

Reviewer Comments: This was my first time renting on VRBO, so my expectations were a little all over the place. The home was lovely. Perfect location to the beach and just a short walk to town. The neighborhood was relatively quiet. The home was cozy and was perfect for traveling with teens. Put them in the cottage and the main house is for the adults! The property was clean, but could benefit from a spring clean. I’m not sure if the musty smell is common on the coast, or if there’s a deeper issue with the home, but it was potent. The overall experience was lovely. The home had everything we needed, and the claw foot tub was wonderful. The only bummer was upon checkout. I noticed a car parked out front, and after about an hour I finally approached the woman after being watched loading my car. It was cleaning crew. We were well within time frame to check out and it made me feel uncomfortable and rushed.

End of Summer Stay

The home was built in 1908 and has extensive charm, was very clean for being over 100 years old and has beach nostalgia. We did not use the mother in law home behind the main home. The main home has two bedrooms with one having two twin beds, one of the beds needs to be replaced. The primary bedroom in the main house had a very comfortable bed. The bathroom in the main house is downstairs and the bedrooms are upstairs. We have a 4 and a 6 year old and found it to work okay for us but I would think it may be problematic for a family with toddler aged kiddos. There is a huge claw foot tub so bring all the bath stuff. Water pressure and water temperature are both glorious. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils etc. The street the house is on is not suitable for kids riding bikes (we found this out the hard way)… it is a busier side street and people definitely go over the speed limit. The beach is two minutes by foot and downtown is five minutes. The tv in the main home is not a “smart tv” and there is no Netflix or anything like that. There is a DVD player with a limited selection available and basic cable.

Under-furnished and uncomfortable - not as advertised

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Several pieces of furniture were removed from this rental and the remaining pieces were just moved around to fill the empty spaces. As a result, the cottage isn't useful at all (except to sleep). Likewise, the main house was cramped for our party because it had only the sectional and some hard seats (no extra sofa as shown). Overall, the house is sterile (and dark in evening due to very little lighting) and hasn't been maintained to the standard of the photos. Other than that, the place was decorated cute and the beds were fine. Be warned that you will only get one key to cover both houses. They don't tell you that ahead of time so it's confusing. Also note that the main house has just one bathroom that is downstairs (bedrooms upstairs) - not recommended for folks with inability to get up/down stairs easily. Good location close to beach and turnaround. My sons who stayed in the cottage said it was "depressing" and a "major downgrade" from the condo we normally stay at.

Inadequate furnishings and sterile environment. The images of this cottage show pieces of furniture that have been removed., leaven good inadequate places for people to sit comfortably. The mother in law house had a tiny love seat and a hard kitchen chair in the living room. My teens complained how uncomfortable it was. In the main house we all had to sit on the one sectional because the other sofa had been removed.there are no throw rugs as shown in the photos which seems minor but it just felt very sterile and inadequate. We couldn’t wait to come home unfortunately.

COTTAGE BY THE SEA

This was such a fun cottage by the sea! It's about a block from the, beach, Promanade, shops, and dining. I had to work part of the time, while there, and the wifi was strong, along with cell coverage. My grandchildren (6 & 3) had a blast!! We will be back!

Excellent location

Location was perfect! With only one bad review it was hard not to give this place a try. However to be honest they were pretty spot on. I rented thru Vrbo but what u are not told is this is really thru Oregon beach vacations <~this is who u should directly book with so u are not charged an extra service fee (your welcome)! There are 2 bathrooms 1 in cottage 1 in house. The one in the house is downstairs. The bedrooms are upstairs. Hold your pee the stairs will wake up everyone! If you have guest in the cottage they do not have their own key, u will have to let them in and out if they lock the door. I will say 4 nights at Double my mortgage is a bit over priced even with the cottage in back.....

Unit was not clean

Was not clean at all! 20 minutes into our stay I had to send my husband to the store to buy cleaning supplies so I felt comfortable with the stay. Listing said no dogs, I asked to bring my 8 week old puppy and that was no but their was dog hair covering bedding, couches, all over the floor. It was clear the unit wasn’t cleaned properly. Not enough supplies for our family to last a week.

There is only one bathroom which is a bit of an issue but we make it work. The location is great. I think we pay quite a lot for this property for a week, and think it is quite unreasonable to provide such a small supply of disposables such as TP, dishwasher soap and it could also use a few more sheets for the pull out beds. Other than that, it is great and we will probably return

Perfect for Beach and Town Access

We enjoyed our stay at the Hydrangea House and Cottage. It was within walking distance to the beach and Broadway. We walked our entire stay. The kitchen was spacious and beds comfortable. The enclosed front porch area with rocking chairs, not to mention cozy rocking chairs on the outside porch area, were a plus. Plenty of room for 2 toddlers, 1 infant, a 12 year old and 4 adults. Nice having the outside shower to rinse off sand and washer and dryer room too.

Adorable cottage in a great location!

The hoUe had everything we needed. We loved having the little guest house for the older kids. We had warm weather and the upstairs bedrooms did get a little warm, but were okay with the windows open at night. Overall it’s a bright and cheery little house. We stayed with two adults and 6 kids and had plenty of room. It’s a perfect location for a relaxing visit to Seaside.

Charm and comfort.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Charming home within walking distance to Seaside shops and ocean front. This property has everything we needed and more. 6 of us stayed very comfortably in the homes on the property. Comfortable beds, equipped kitchen, many towels and bedding. Nice neighborhood, safe. I ran into a minor glitch, staff were prompt and assisted with my questions. Professional staff. Thanks for making the trip a great one.

The fast and friendly customer service from Oregon Vacations was much appreciated. We also were happy with the easy access to the beach and downtown Seaside.
