Welcome to The Little Sand Castle, a charming, retro oceanfront retreat in Rockaway Beach! This cozy, single-level home is filled with nostalgic beach décor and authentic details, creating the perfect setting for a laid-back, relaxing escape with EPIC views of the Pacific Ocean.



With three bedrooms, there's plenty of space to invite family and friends to share in the coastal magic. Inside, the living room’s large picture windows frame breathtaking ocean views, while the cozy fireplace adds warmth and charm. The adjacent dining/sitting room, complete with comfy seating, offers panoramic views of the coastline, including the iconic Twin Rocks, and invites you to watch the waves roll in from every angle.



Step outside onto the spacious deck for unobstructed views of the ocean over the sand and beach grass. The outdoor firepit takes you even closer to the surf, allowing for memorable nights of s’mores under a starlit sky.



Just beyond the backyard, scramble down the rocks to miles of sandy beach, perfect for long strolls, beachcombing, and enjoying the soothing sound of the surf. The vibrant town of Rockaway Beach is nearby, offering smoked salmon, unique shops, and the chance to ride a historic steam engine to Garibaldi and back.



Venture a bit further, and you’ll discover the charming coastal towns of Manzanita, Cannon Beach, and Seaside to the north, or Tillamook to the south, with plenty of stunning viewpoints, capes, and hiking trails along the way.

We truly want you to enjoy your time and make some wonderful memories with your group. That being said, this is not a party or gathering house for groups that can't control their noise levels. We have relationships with all of our neighbors who have our direct contact information. Quiet time is 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. If it is loud enough to be heard outside in these conditions, it is too loud for you to remain our guest. This property includes a noise alert monitoring system in order to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. Again, please realize we want every group to enjoy their time, laugh, have fun and make memories. These devices are only to ensure noise levels don't reach a threshold that bothers our neighbors.

Amazing views and beach access

Loved our stay! The windows overlooking the ocean were amazing and the rental was cozy and well kept. Our only recommendation would be for firmer mattresses on the queen beds, but that might just be a personal preference.

House was very cute with spectacular views! The decor was thoughtfully executed. The kitchen is well equipped. The living room area is very tiny and not comfortable for more than one or two people to relax and enjoy the space. Bedrooms are very small but functional. There were no working smoke detectors/fire alarms in the house which was concerning as well as illegal. My friend and I scrapbooked the entire weekend with our tables set up inn front of the huge windows looking out to ocean. It was absolutely perfect for our needs because we stayed in the dining room space the entire time. We would definitely go back for scrapbooking again.

Our favorite spot on the Rockaway Beach!

We have stayed at this location yearly for years now, and keep coming back. The house is right on the beach, and has everything we need. We've never had any issues. The owners have done a very nice of job of updating this older beach home. Thank you for having us!

Perfect Getaway

Whenever we stay in Rockaway, we pack to retreat into our location and get away from it all. This spot is nicely decorated with an unbelievable view of the beach, ocean, and sunset. Exploring the kitchen, we found there to be more than enough pots, pans, utensils, and dishes to cook all our meals. I hope to return again soon!

Perfect

This place is the epitome of cute beach bungalow. There were 2 of us so we each had our own room. (Sleeps 7) More than 3 (adult) people would feel a bit cramped in our opinion.This updated property has been done extremely well!Great location. Easy drive to nearby towns etc.If you’re coming from Portland and need to stock up there is a Fredmeyer grocery store in Tillamook that we recommend stopping at on your way. The groceries around Rockaway are minimal and expensive.Would definitely stay here again!

View! One Level! Cute, Comfy & Clean!

We walked in and both said, “Wow!” The ocean is right there, with sweeping, panoramic views from kitchen and dining area all the way to the TV room. The kitchen is well-equipped, plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy sunsets and cocktails around the fire pit, and the shower pressure is phenomenal! Unlike most places we’ve stayed, beach access is super close and easy. No scrambling down rocks! Just a short walk to the middle of the Sun Surf Motel, and you’ll find stone stairs with a handrail. A pleasure! This home is ideal for a couple or a small family. I say that because the bedrooms are tiny with no closets—though thoughtfully placed hooks do the job—and there’s only one bathroom, albeit a very nice one. We’ll definitely be back!

Fantastic stay

We loved this spot on the Oregon coast! Tasteful decor, large kitchen, and a spectacular view. The place was clean, had most everything we needed. We loved the backyard and beach access, and also enjoyed the fireplace. A couple notes: there was no dish soap (most likely just an oversight), and we recommend putting hooks next to the backdoor since that is the way to the beach. It would make it much easier to keep the sand out if we had a place to hang towels/leashes ( maybe some hooks outside and a few just inside the door)? We never did get the Cable TV working either, but we had fun playing games so it wasn't a big deal. We are already talking about this being our go-to spot for our coast trips from now on. I also appreciated the clear communication and ease of check-in and check-out. You are doing it right!!

Well…we found our new annual winter-time family getaway spot on the Oregon Coast! This place checked all the boxes for us! We have a pretty high standard of clean, & this place was CLEAN. Easy check-in/out. Nicely updated little home, with cute dècor, EV charger outside near the front door, well-stocked kitchen (bowls, drip coffeemaker, potholders, etc), plenty of towels & bedding, boardgames, bluetooth speaker, wood-burning fireplace (bring your own Duraflame!), unbeatable ocean-front view, roomy bathroom vanity & shampoo/body wash/conditioner, and best of all - even though the property is pet-friendly, it did NOT have the smell of such (and we’re picky about this!). If I had to say anything about the very few downsides, it would be that there is no direct path from the property, down the big rocks, onto the beach - you have to walk down to the nearby Motel to use their stairs (not far - maybe about 5 houses away to the North). Some homes were able to “carve out” some stairs in the rocks, so just letting others know, this property does not have that. Also, check-out time should really be 11 like most everywhere we’ve ever stayed, not 10. Lastly, keep in mind that the house really *is* small - having only one bathroom, and the bedrooms are very small too - jussssst enough room around the sides of the beds to walk. For our family of 4 plus our dog though, it was perfect. Just thought some might like to know. We will DEFINITELY be back & wished we could’ve stayed longer!!
