Buy cheap pay twice!
First bad experience having used VRBO many times. Property has following extract on the site
Languages: English, Spanish, Italian, Greek, hence you would believe that communication would be easy as I am not a French speaker. Made contact with required contact on arrival at Nice airport and although her English not good worked out she expected us to arrive at a certain time in a car (which we had hired at the airport). Was met at at the property by a different lady at the property who spoke no English but there was no access to the garage (we had chosen this property as parking in Cannes can be difficult). It transpired that the electronic "beep" key had not been left in the property. A neighbour in the flats let us in but there was no access to the garage assigned to the flat - we parked in a space which we were directed to. The lady who had greeted us then took us through the garage and we assumed to the property. We wheeled our luggage around for a while passing a couple of lifts (which I thought was odd) and she went through a door and showed us where the bins were ! Not a great welcome. We then went to the flat which had an odd smell. There was a bar of soap in the main bathroom (not hand wash) which had a nice hair on it. The toilet in the en-suite to the main bedroom had not been cleaned to a great standard. We did not unpack as were tired and went for a walk and dinner. When arriving back we could not find the flush to the en-suite toilet having looked for quite a while (I appreciate we nay have missed this but four people could not locate where the flush was) . At that point I rang the owner and left a voice message. We then left the property (I did have a missed call from the owner) but at that point we were checking in to a local hotel, which fortunately had availabilty for the three days we were there. I have been in contact with the owner by e-mail on my return who has been understanding of the situation but has offered no compensation. For the price we were not expecting a 5 star experience but you do expect an easier check in experience and a clean property. I would certainly not recommend staying at this property. If you have the same experience as we did you will be left disappointed and potentially out of pocket
