Lake Waterfront Cottage, a short walk to the Beach, Boardwalk

This cottage was my grandmothers. It was built in 1940. It is well loved. It has been updated with several new appliances, a dishwasher and washer/dryer. Flat screen smart TV's are mounted in the living room and both bedrooms ready for you to log in with your streaming services or local channels with the antennas. Wifi is included. It has a new Ashley sectional couch. Both bedrooms have comfy queen beds. Linens and towels are included. There are great lake views from back screened porch. The front porch is also screened. It is a short walk to the beach, boardwalk, restaurants and shops.

Beautiful little house on the lake. Just a short walk from everything. The house is clean as always. Loved sitting on the screened in back porch and reading. We have stayed in this sweet house at least three vacations. We love it and will definitely be back again!!

House sits on Carolina Lake next to downtown CB. Everything is walkable including 3 blocks from the beach. This is the second time we have stayed here. Clean and comfortable. Spent much of our time on the screened porch in the back overlooking the lake. There is a walking path around the lake!

The positives - great location (close enough to walk to the beach and the Carolina beach pier), cute beach-y decor, plenty of room for our group of 6, and a beach wagon sand toys to borrow. The negatives - the house had several signs that it hasn’t been maintained well. Of note, rodent feces in the cabinet above the microwave (see photo), very dirty floors surrounding the toilet and a gap in the floor surrounding the toilet (see photos), corroded battery in one of the remotes (see photo), uneven and boggy wood floors suggestive of underlying water damage, brown stains on the first layer of sheets on one of the beds, the grill was a nice addition however it was very dirty and there were no grilling utensils available. We left wishing we would have chosen to stay at a different place we had on our list of choices.

This stay was perfect for my wife and I. Short walk to the beach, easy walk for coffee in the morning or a drink at night. The market on Saturday morning along the lake was great. If you're looking for a simple, easy cottage close to the beach, this is the spot for you!

Carolina Beach

Pictures are not up to date. There is no access to getting on the lake so no paddle boats. We have young kids ages 6, 4 and 1.5 and they all enjoyed the park that was 3 houses down from us! Ice cream was a short 4 minute walk as wellAs the beach and boardwalk took about 7-10 minutes to get to! We took advantage of the free movie Sunday night at the center down the road as well as the family night on Tuesday where they got to meet Princess Tiana and get their face painted! Overall was an excellent stay!

Girls Week

My friend and I had such a great time I booked it again for 2 months later!! Susan is a wonderful host. The lake in the backyard is so pretty. Close to the beach and restaurants.

great vacation

Haven't been to Carolina Beach in years- but this cottage brought back many fond memories. CB has many new businesses but the Ferris Wheel/boardwalk, friendly people, fishing piers are still there and our little cottage seemed just like home. Everything was just as shown in the property listing. I would recommend and revisit again. Thank you, Susan. R, Dawn and Lee

Wonderful Cottage & host

This was our 2nd year staying at the Lake Cottage and it’s one of the best little places on the island. Clean & comfortable, the house is perfect for a small family. Close to the lake for walking and the new playground for young children. Susan is prompt to answer messages and very understanding. I would recommend her and her cottage to anyone.

Great Location

Loved this place! Best location ever!! Within walking distance to beach, restaurants, and the heart of Carolina Beach. Being that close to the lake was awesome! There was a nice breeze each day. The house was cozy and had everything we needed. Would love to stay there again!

Beautiful Cottage/Beautiful Location

The house was everything we expected. It has a screened in porch on the front and back of the house. We watched fireworks on Thursday evening from the front porch and looked at Lake Park with its track that folks walked their dogs on the back porch. It was an easy walk to the beach, but back far enough for the quietness. It was beautiful inside. We will definitely be staying again. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay.

Lakefront cottage bliss

This is the 2nd time my girlfriend and I have stayed at Susan's cottage. I really believe this the best of both worlds. The backyard has access to the lake and the screened in porch on the front and back is a dream. The flea market is right around the lake and a nice activity to partake in. The best part is the walking distance to the beach. I walked mostly twice a day, no parking worries is a godsend. The house itself has pretty much all that you need for an house that was built so long ago. Authentic beach cottage feel. We have communicated certain improvement opinions and Susan is very receptive to them. We appreciate her hospitality and will be back as much as possible.

What a CUTE little beach home!!

The house was so clean and the beds were like sleeping on a cloud. Plenty of towels and everything else you will need for a beach stay. Super close to beach access, shops and restaurants/bars. The owner is super sweet and very helpful. We will definitely stay here again!

Perfect for a girl's weekend getaway!

Family cottage charm passed down through the years but updated interior. Very clean and bright! Location perfect for enjoying the lake and the ocean. The weekend provided a special setting to catch up and continue a 50+ year friendship. Susan was very attentive and made the check in and stay very nice. Thank you Susan.

Quaint cottage on the lake

Very quaint cottage where you can feel the history of family time enjoyed there while enjoying up to date cozy beach decor. Very comfortable. Great location to beach, boardwalk and craft Market and outdoor movie by the lake. Love the feel of this house and the 2 screened porches. Owner was fantastic! Wagon was very helpful, as was the clothes line on porch and multiple hooks in the jack n jill bathroom. Towels and bedding were clean and soft. Bedrooms could use some curtains for room darkening as well as a mattress that doesn't dip in the back bedroom when 2 people are sharing it. Overall, we loved the cottage. Had everything we needed and will likely book a stay there again

Perfect Beach Cootage

This adorable 2BR cottage is perfect for a couple who appreciate a nostalgic feel plus modern amenities. Susan was an outstanding host and has decorated the house beautifully. Overlooking Carolina Lake with backyard access to a well-lit walking path, the cottage was just a couple of blocks from beach access and plenty of Boardwalk activities. We have relatives in Wilmington so we plan to book this place whenever we plan on visiting. Highly recommended!

A lovely stay at the beach!

We had a wonderful stay at the lovely beach cottage! It was with him walking distance of the beach, some restaurants and shops. We love the relaxing and peaceful location by the lake. The inside decor was super cute and the beds were very comfortable. We will be back sometime, hopefully in the near future.

Cute lakeside cottage

Susan was a great hostess. She was quick to respond to messages and questions. House was clean, full size washer & dryer, plenty of dishes and she gets bonus points for lots of fluffy towels :) most places give you one towel & washcloth per person but not here. You can tell it has new living room furniture, the sectional was sooo comfortable. Beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows and extra sheets and blankets if needed. Televisions in both bedrooms and the living room. Within walking distance to public beach access but we rented a golf cart for fun. Nice quite neighborhood. We walked down Saturday to the lake market and while not oceanfront the back yard lake view is tranquil. Definitely recommend the house and host.

Nice relaxing place.

My husband and I had a wonderful 8 night stay at the cottage. It had everything we needed including a blender, coffee maker, toaster and Keurig in the kitchen. The towels and washcloths were amazing. Nice big fluffy ones and plenty of them. The front and back porches are screened in and the lake view was just so relaxing and peaceful. Walking distance to most anything you could want. We had a wonderful time and will surely come back. Maybe as soon as September : ) Just loved the place. BIG THANKS to Susan.
