Lovely Beach Week with Kids and Grandkids

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sweet Carolina is even more beautiful than the pictures, but otherwise, the description was exactly what we found. This house is located in a quiet part of the island and we loved being so close to the beach. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed for family dinners. We enjoyed lounging on the many porches - and especially stargazing from the rooftop. The pool filter had some issues at first but the property management company was easy to communicate with and they got the problem fixed promptly. We would love to stay here again but our growing family is going to need more space next year!

We're delighted to hear that Sweet Carolina exceeded your expectations and that you enjoyed its peaceful location, easy beach access, comfortable accommodations, and well-equipped kitchen for your family gatherings. It sounds like the porches and rooftop stargazing made for some special memories! It was a pleasure hosting your family, and we'd love to welcome you back in the future.

What a tremendous property for a family vacation. Close location to the beach makes for easy transitions with young kids. There is tons of covered outdoor living space. The rooftop views allowed for great places to sip a cup of coffee during sunrise and for some wine down time at sunset. Management team friendly upon arrival and easy to communicate with. Overall 5/5 beach vacation!

Great Stay

We stayed here for a bachelorette getaway and could not be happier with the space, proximity to the beach, and all the amenities provided in the kitchen. We absolutely loved that each room had their own bathroom. The beach was merely a 3 minute walk away. It is a beautiful house and everyone at the vacation rental agency was so friendly. Would love to come back!!!

Excellent for a group!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is perfect for a large group to gather together and still have separate spaces as desired. The WiFi and second living space were excellent for the remote work a couple of family members needed to do. One zoom call was done from a comfy deck couch - I think their colleagues were a bit jealous! The kitchen is well stocked with whatever you need, even a stepladder to reach the higher shelves! Access to the beach is an easy walk, especially with the wagon provided. The house is the cleanest rental we have ever enjoyed, despite some kitchen upholstery stains from previous tenants. The rooftop deck was amazing for watching the rare comet and stargazing! Bring some binoculars to see the Ravenel bridge. The one downside of the property is water intrusion and subsequent mold on the south facing windows. If you are very sensitive - this might not be the property for you until the homeowner has it remediated. East Island Rentals made communication very easy before and during our stay. I definitely recommend this property (with the disclaimer about mold allergens) and rental company to others!

Susan, Thank you for choosing Sweet Carolina for your fall vacation to the Isle of Palms and for reviewing your stay. We are quite happy to read that you enjoyed your time together and that this home accommodated you so well. The homeowner has scheduled window replacements for this winter and we used specialized cleaners on the mildewed window seals. We appreciate your recommendation and kind words, East Islands Rentals

Good layout. Needs some love.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home has a great reverse layout with a bathroom for each of the four bedrooms. The pool was convenient but on the smaller size. Elevator was helpful for older guests and bringing up luggage and groceries. The A/C was out for ~24 hours but the staff was helpful and attentive. Not a long walk to the beach and there was a wagon available for use that was helpful to carry coolers and chairs. The house overall had wear & tear that was not depicted in the pictures - very worn kitchen cabinets full of a lot of vases & unnecessary things & some drawers were hard to open, the cooktop exhaust fan was missing completely, two dining chairs broke because of wobbly legs & the couches were in need of a deep clean. One garage door did not work but could be lifted manually. The bunk bed had been reinforced but was still questionable, and one of the full beds was extremely loud with every movement & the lower king bedroom had basic ikea bed frame & daybed. We appreciated the number of towels and starting supplies available at the house. Overall a good week, but we wouldn’t stay at this property again.

Great IOP rental

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house itself is better than pictured, spacious with room for a large group. Beds and lounge furniture were comfortable. While we weren't using the kitchen much there's a lot of visible wear, particularly with issues with drawers/cabinets not opening well. Additionally, the rug in the kitchen NEEDS a rubber mat underneath as it almost caused several falls. A large group staying a week would definitely benefit from a second refrigerator or beverage fridge somewhere in the house, however since we spent a lot of time out of the house it was perfectly fine for our group.

Friendship & Fellowship

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, the group enjoyed our rental experience. The property is lovely, just minutes from the ocean, and provides easy access to Mt Pleasant and downtown Charleston. We had 3 issues at the property: 1) The key didn't access the elevator door on the bottom level, so we were unable to load luggage or use it to open the door to access that level; 2) The pool was unclean and had lots of debris on the bottom. On Day 1, I contacted the office and was assured it would be cleaned by the pool guy. He came and turned the pump on, and also said it would be cleaned but it wasn't during our entire stay, therefore, we were unable to enjoy the pool; and 3) The exterior cushions on the outdoor furniture is white and dirty on all levels so we couldn't sit on them. If these 3 items weren't issues it would definitely have been 5's all around.

Michelle, thank you for staying with us at Sweet Carolina and for taking the time to review your stay. We are glad you and your group enjoyed your stay! We do keep exterior doors locked for security purposes especially the elevator doors at our homes because we leave the garage doors open so guests can pull inside to accommodate parking. We do apologize about the pool cleaning, in the off season our pools are typically only cleaned once a week because the temperatures are too cold for swimming. The outside of the home, including the furniture are on schedule to be cleaned in May. We hope to see you again soon! East Islands Rentals

Nancy, Thank you for choosing Sweet Carolina for your fall getaway to the Isle of Palms. We are quite thankful Ian didn't cause us any issues too! We are sorry about the washer not performing for you- the tech came out and said all is working fine, just too large of loads so we put a note on the washer asking guests to put medium sized loads in it. Good location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is nice but worn and weathered. Needs refreshing. Cushions are all flat and uncomfortable. I'm sure it was nice years ago. Good location, quick walk to the beach. The pool leaks and we couldn't use it the first two days. Had to keep adding water. Would not stay in this house again for what we paid.

Karen, We are sorry to hear of the issues you encountered during your stay, this is certainly not the way we want our guests to feel. There was an electrical issue with the pool that was corrected the day after your arrival and we have discussed refreshing the home with the homeowner- she does have plans to paint and redecorate this winter. We certainly hope to see you again and that you will give us another chance to provide you with an awesome vacation! East Islands Rentals
