Historical Hancock House

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved this charming historical house. It's decorated beautifully, well furnished, and has so much charm. It's also on such a nice, quiet road. I would note that for older or mobility impaired people that the stairs are steep and narrow and the only full bath is downstairs, whereas bedrooms are upstairs. But as long as that's not an issue for you, you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer place to stay! We especially loved the screened in porches.

It was clean and very well appointed. Management was helpful and very upbeat. We particularly enjoyed learning about the history of Mr. Miles Hancock, decoy carver and market hunter and visited his workshop at the Museum. Ocean, ponies and seafood, who could want anything more!

Very pleasant trip

This was a beautiful house that was clean and well equipped and fully furnished. Lots of places to sit outside and a cool screened in porch. Modern kitchen, comfortable beds, quiet cul de sac only 5 minutes from town. Fully recommended! Great for young kids too.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved our stay at this historic Chincoteague cottage. It was lovingly restored and decorated. It had everything we needed including an outdoor shower and screened in porch, where we ate most of our meals. The location was good, very close to Maddox Boulevard, restaurants and souvenir shopping. It was clean and well taken care of. Access to the channel docks would have been nice. My only complaint was the mattresses were terrible. They definitely need to be replaced.

Very well equipped home with plenty of kitchen items. I remember staying at this place before it was renovated! So happy it was renovated. My family members like to be in town, but this was a nice change.

This is what a vacation should be: peace and quiet when you need it, but close enough to the beach and action on Maddox Blvd and Main Street. This lovely house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and the screened in porch was perfect for morning coffee and evening cocktails. We’ll be back again!

Peaceful idyll with historical interest

This local decoy maker's cottage has been beautifully restored and is equipped with everything you need to make your stay a happy one. I especially appreciated the well-functioning kitchen with everything to hand to cook a complete meal, not always the case in holiday rentals! Chincoteague and surrounds have a lot to offer nature lovers and your stay is sure to be a relaxing one.

Love the Hancock House

Especially this year, with the need to social distance, the screened porch and the two other outside seating areas were perfect. The house is VERY well equipped for your stay and charming in every way.
