Dwight and his family were a pleasure to host and treated my house and property as though it was their own - neat & tidy when they left. I would recommend them to other hosts and hope they will return soon. You never get tired of C-Scape.

After checking in person and via emails during Pierre's stay and afterwards he repeated that they enjoyed their visit including the house, property and surrounding area. I wish. I had known what exactly was meant by "cleaning & updating" so that I could take action to avoid their discontent. The furnishings are vintage country style, that is the ambience I strive to provide and personally enjoy- as do many guests volunteer their positive comments how much they enjoy the eclectic and "homey" comfort of the house. If it is uncomfortable for you, bring your concerns to my attention during your stay & I will make every effort to adapt to your preferences - within reason.

It was a pleasure to host Craig and his family who took good care of my home and enjoyed the 105 Disney classic movies ! Hope they can return in the near future but summer of 2023 is already starting to get booked which is the earliest in history. Spread the goodness.

Karen and Kyler were delightful and left my home as good as when they arrived. Hope that they will visit again soon.

I'm so glad that Peter and his lovely family enjoyed my home and property like so many others before them. It is indeed fun for those of all ages for both relaxing the tranquility of the property with lots to see and do as well as taking day trips to enjoy other landmarks around Nova Scotia. And there's even more to visit warranting many return visits. Hope to see you back again.

It is such a joy to host folks who appreciate the efforts that I put into making my home a comfortable and pleasurable experience for others to enjoy. Hoping Andrew will return soon. C-Scape never grows tired.

I'm really disappointed that I was not told AT ALL about these misgivings so that I could have easily told you and shown you how to operate the deck door easily, read the sign posted to NOT close the window shades to the ocean with tinted windows so the sea gulls can't see in and the sun doesn't come in producing any heat. This is only in the living room on two windows. It's already on my list to remove them to avoid others not following the "DO NOT TOUCH" SIGNS as they are now unnecessary. Considerable time is taken to clean the house between guest visits so I don't know to what they are referring. Kitchen appliances, floors, counters, bathroom floors and fixtures are specifically kept up to my high standards. My 30-60 minute tour initially at check-in includes much advice and instructions on how to keep the house comfortable during your stay. It's a lot to take in but when I'm not asked about any concerns, what can I do? The boardwalk to the beach (NOT a dock) had a loose board at the end where the previous guest had tied his boat to the board during a storm and it damaged the one board. I have not had time to repair this obvious "step" but make a point to tell every new guest an alternate way to more easily access the beach off the driveway at grade without having jump down large rocks off the boardwalk - for the SENIORS. Dogs, children and middle aged adults do not have an issue stepping down 3 steps off the boardwalk to the beach. 2 weeks before this visit there was monumental provincial flooding in Nova Scotia. You may have heard. Fortunately I escaped severe damage and the guests at the time enjoyed the lightning show but were not hampered, fortunately. After they left they too noted in their review of C-Scape that the inside water pressure was down. (They didn't tell me). On change-over after they left I found this to be true and rectified it in 10 minutes by replacing the water filter from the dug well which was clogged with grit from the "overflowing" water table due to the floods previously. Obviously there is still residue in EVERYBODY'S WELL IN THE PROVINCE and maybe for some time to come. I will be checking my water filter again tomorrow to see if another 10 minute fix brings back water pressure to normal. AGAIN, I wish I had known and very upset that their visit was marred by these annoyances which were totally unnecessary. Yesterday I wrote to the guest to advise that I had found 12 year old Lilly's "Bunny" and wanted it returned. NoReply

From being fully booked for 3 months and receiving only praise, Rob was my first (& hopefully last) experience with a devious individual. After I rushed to check him in a DAY EARLY he then reluctantly paid the same daily rate for the unscheduled night's stay. He wanted 50% discount. All previous VRBO guests were fully paid on arrival except Rob who was "invoiced" and "past due" on the second payment on arrival. It was not until he left 4 days later & I was not paid by VRBO that I discovered that he failed to pay VRBO stating it was my responsibility to collect the fee, I was suspicious of accepting payment outside VRBO so required him to pay VRBO. This followed days of him accusing me of my account not working and not accepting his credit card and Paypal account. While having NO communication during his stay (like all prior guests who naturally have questions by phone or in person) he now comes up with various ridiculous criticisms which any reasonable person can see his true nature. TV was explained; VCR was available with extensive library - just have to ask; & fireworks for 10 minutes on a holiday weekend - come on!!! And the Kingsdown Queens size bed is the best comfort available. I and everyone who visits LOVE the 37 large floor to ceiling windows + skylights for the views OUTWARD. With the property's location being so PRIVATE, only the birds can see in. Based on ALL past guests and their glowing recommendations I take any comments from Rob with a grain of salt. He has a real chip on his shoulder & needs to take advantage at every turn - groundless. I would caution anyone from dealing with him in the future. I stand on my reputation.

Correct. No ice maker. Everyone to date hasn't minded picking up a bag of ice from the grocery store. Just another feature like providing coffee that invariably the next guests don't like or want. I try to keep the costs down. No AC because after 42 years owning the property on the Atlantic ocean with 22 opening windows on 4 sides of the house (1 is difficult to open due to lack of use) it would be an unnecessary expense. Weeding around the Turret entrance was delayed due to outside house painting prior to Michael's visit. The week after their departure it was tidied up. The rest of the 1 acre property is intentionally kept "country wild bushes" and no "formal gardens" as we enjoy the natural beauty of wild rose bushes and rhododendrum. Country well water may not provide the water pressure as urban locations but it hasn't been an issue in the past. And urban water doesn't taste as clear and fresh as country well water. And finally I've had guests of all sizes in my beds to their sleeping pleasure. Again I don't want to indulge in extravagences. I'm glad Michael had an enjoyable visit but I wanted to clarify his concerns to defend my property.

Coincidentally I'm meeting with contractors a week after Nancy checked-out to replace the old painted wood shingles outside on the ocean facing deck with high end manufactured siding which is guaranteed to last a lifetime with exposure to the salt water elements. I've been trying to meet them since June but delayed with Covid. Never had any issues in the past 20 years with water pressure in the marble walk-in shower in the master suite so probably some demonstration are needed on adjusting the 4 level Kohler shower head to suit every need. I always try to satisfy all needs despite scheduling delays with contractors and guests staying at C-Scape who obviously can't be disturbed with repairs during their stay. Year round bookings make this a challenge but I'm UP for it. Glad to share the beauty and comfort of my family home. .

Holley and Evan were such a delight to meet and talk with. They obviously enjoyed many of the unique features that C-Scape has to offer and it was a pleasure to share these with them. Looking forward to seeing them again to continue and expand the experience.

I know. Unfortunately in the October Fall season and with the moon's phases controlling the tides, low tide would have been every 12 hours so just before sunrise and just after sunset! The current guests took it upon themselves to use flashlights as they were determined to dig clams on the causeway to the island at night. THAT'S initiative ! You'll just have to come back next summer when the tide is out all afternoon ! Yippee ! Best wishes to all your family for the coming year. Glad you enjoyed my C-Scape.

Kendra and her family were a pleasure to host - enjoying all the amenities that C-Scape has to offer and the surrounding area. I hope they will be back soon to discover more that we have to offer.

Jan & Richard and their 2 beautiful Lab's are delightful guests who so enjoy what the property has to offer. There IS a smoke detector in the Master Suite, a heat detector in the basement. A smoke detector in the kitchen kept going off when a piece of toast was burned and annoyed guests. Fire extinguisher is on hand.

Sunette's family (including dogs) so enjoyed their visit and will be most welcome to return anytime, year round, to enjoy C-Scape even more. You never grow tired of it...

Heather's family were a pleasure to host and very pleased that they enjoyed their visit so much - even in December the house and property are so cozy & relaxing for all.

I was so pleased to see that Lindsay and her wonderful family enjoyed C-Scape to the "max". Their comments only reinforce the over 30 favourable reviews I've received from young and old alike over just the past couple of years. And year round too. Christmas is magical. Couples, singles, dogs, children and young to middle aged professionals from near and far find the property incredible with pictures unable to show what you would get to enjoy. I try to accommodate everyone's needs so ask away & I'll do my best. So far, so good. Fingers crossed that Lindsay will return again soon because after 38 years owning C-Scape I can vouch for the fact that it NEVER GETS OLD !

Maria & Eugene & family were spectacular guests and enjoyed C-Scape by relaxing, entertaining and visiting places of interest in the region. I do hope they return soon, year-round, as my spot is gorgeous and comfortable all the time! Highly recommend Maria to any other hosts.

I was delighted to meet some new American friends and to my home that we have enjoyed for so many years. Ann and her family & friends got to visit many of the sites of Nova Scotia on day trips or just relaxing with the bar-b-que for steak, hot dogs or lobster fresh from the ocean. Only 25 minutes from Halifax is so convenient for whatever suits their mood. Truly 5 star accommodation in a comfortable home-like setting. I hope Ann will visit again soon.
