Pirate's Cove/Sandy Serenity Great home with private beach access!

During the Summer and Spring months we only rent in week long blocks; Saturday to Saturday. Winter months we will consider a longer term rental. In addition, the views from the kitchen alone are spectacular on the coastal beach side. This 1900 sq. ft. property will be the vacation experience of a dream come true. On Topsail Island, a well known vacation island, your family can relax or play in the comfort of this beach home.

We welcome you to stay at this new fully furnished home, to visit all of the surrounding souvenir shops. The Surf City pier is a few blocks away and shops, dining, and activities are within walking distance not to far away. They are unique as well as charming in Surf City. The town has grown in the past year but still keeps it vacation tone as a real get away. We rent in week blocks during the summer!
Linens not provided. Outside linens are absolutely not allowed. Sweet Dreams Linens are the preferred vendor for your bed linen needs.
Included in your stay at the brand new fully furnished home, house rules provided with attached and signed rental contract for clarity.


Don't forget to try the best seafood around!


We do not take reservations more than 3 months out.

Had an absolute blast with this rental. Tom was great, responsive, very quick to make sure everything was corrected ASAP, and was overall the one of the best host I have had. I hope to revisit topsail and surf City again next year.

Exquisite beach home

Our family absolutely loved this home. There's an abundance of room for the entire family. The beds were extremely comfortable. Home owner was fast in responding to our questions. Beach acces is directly across the street. Beautiful quiet home away from all the more commercial vacation areas.

Perfect tranquility

By far our favorite property ever. Large spacious house, worth every dollar. Owners are very responsive and quickly address any questions we had. Beautiful views, just steps to the beach. Comfortable beds, plenty of storage. Nice fenced backyard

Mixed reviews

The house was very nice and accommodating to our group. In the process of merging airbnb and vrbo, there was an overlap in bookings, causing confusion with our check in. The owner did make things right once we were able to talk. Future guests, read thoroughly through the contract-- linen ordering is essential for the 2 part check in. The balcony decks hosted a beautiful view, but were unfurnished. Overall, the house was beautiful, but lack of attention to the details on the property would have me looking for a different house to rent.

Little inconveniences

The location of this property was great, but there were many small issues with the property. Communication with the owner was terrible up until time of check in. I had a couple questions within a month of our dates and it took over a week to get a response. The property advertised beach loungers but there were none. Listing showed a twin and futon in 1 room, it was actually 2 double beds, so I ordered the wrong linens because it was listed incorrectly. The TV’s didn’t work, we had to call. There was only 1 house key, we were supposed to have 2. The ice maker didn’t work. The deck has rotting boards and a chair almost fell through a whole in the top deck. The outdoor shower did not work, no water hook up. The property overall was not well maintained, long grass and the decks are in bad shape. Walls had scuffs all over them. The location of the house made up for a lot of these little inconveniences and we overall enjoyed the trip.

The location was great but the outside shower didn’t work at all while we were there, the yard hadn’t been mowed, there were things left behind from previous renters-left in the master bath area, the kitchen was not well stocked and had a total mos match assortment of chipped dishes, has colored camping silverware,, we had to rent all linens— were not allowed to bring our own. The house was fine, not great. Could sure use some updated items

Great location and house.

House is directly across from the beach with private access as listed. Home owner was nice and responsive. The ice maker didn't work while we stayed but otherwise we would love to stay again.

forever memories

We all enjoyed our stay. The main floor was perfect for gathering to make our daily plans, having meals, playing games and hanging out. Every bedroom opens up onto the deck with ocean views, smells and sounds. With our own private entry to the beach we were able to set-up a home base down on the beach. This made me feel safe to let the kids come and go from the beach to the house. Perfect vacation

After 21 years of renting on the island, the property was by far the ABSOLUTE WORST!!

HORRIBLE RENTAL PROPERTY - July 23-27, 2018 -No exterminator contract---house filled with palmetto bugs! Kitchen was full of ants (window sills, door walls and counter tops) -Kitchen offered no amenities (no decent set of silverware, no measuring cups, serving utensils, wine glasses,baking sheets, baking dishes, pots and pans were old. No hand mixer or blender. etc) -Tub and shower drains backed up, would not drain during showers. -Outside shower did not work. -VERY MINIMAL, if any cleaning done prior to our arrival. We had to sweep kitchen floor and vacuum before moving in for the week. -Stairway carpet full of dark stains. Carpeting was filthy! -Chair in living room had a broken back but pushed against the wall to create the appearance of operable. -Microwave not secured to the wall. -Food left in refrigerator from prior renters. -Mattresses on twin beds were broken down to the coils. -No night stands or mirrors in bedrooms, not one free standing lamp in the entire house. -Broken and minimal deck furniture. -Broken, un-hung closet doors. -When raining, the track on the door wall in the master bedroom filled up with water, flooded the room and soaked the carpeting. -Very hot on the second floor. Had to buy a box fan to attempt comfort for sleeping. -TV's set up for game use only. Should have a TV in every room for viewing movies, etc. -No decorations to enhance or make the house feel welcoming. -Outside hose didn't work, had to use our own. I could continue to list our disappointments but will stop with just the above. The price was very high for what the property had to offer which was only filth and bugs. Tried to communicate our dissatisfaction with the owner, but he chose not to respond. I would NEVER recommend renting this property to anyone. I hope that the owner does the right thing and takes care of problems and adds the necessary items that would bring this rental up to par.

Trip was PERFECT

Me and a couple buddies that I work with stayed down at this beautiful beach home. This was the perfect get away for our 4 day break. I would definitely stay again. The owner called and checked on us 2 times during our visit. The propane from the grill ran out and the owner came in minutes with a new propane tank. I couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. Would definitely reccomend and we do plan on going longer next time.

We had a great vacation here! 6 of us stayed comfortably for 3 days. Fenced in backyard, gas grill, beach is just a walk across the street. We could never get the tvs to work. We had to stream shows from our phone to the TV to watch anything. There is good WiFi. 3 queen beds and a double bunk futon. Bathrooms are very nice with plenty of closet space. Owner was easy to work with. Concrete under house is extremely slippery when wet, just be careful when entering and leaving the house. We would love to be able stay again next year. It is 3 stories so lots of stairs. Kitchen and one bedroom is on top floor, other 3 bedrooms are on middle floor; each has access to the balcony out front. Plenty of pots, pans, and dishes.

Location, view and house layout are excellent!

Perfect second row home, comfortable and clean with new furnishings. Owner was very responsive and helpful. Missing a couple of helpful items in the kitchen, but owner is already addressing!
