If you are looking for the perfect Costa Rican vacation, Casa Estrella del Mar luxury home has everything you need and more for your tropical beach vacation. This beautiful home sleeps 10-12 people, located in the neighborhood of Palm Beach Estates of Playa Grande, is just a short walking distance to one of the most popular surf breaks called Playa Grande (Grande Beach). Casa Estrella del Mar features 4 master bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms, and has an additional 5th bedroom with 2 twin beds, sleeping 10 total in the main house. Additionally, there is an adjacent studio apartment with king bed, with its own comfortable lounge area and also a full kitchen. The house and apartment sleep 12 guests total and are only rented together, never separately. Casa Estrella del Marā€™s private pool and two large covered lounging areas have beautiful patio furniture, outdoor dining table and large gas grill to enjoy the outdoors on your tropical beach vacation.

THE GREAT ROOM
This beautifully decorated home has a grand open floor plan with 24 foot ceilings and abundant natural light. There is a fully equipped kitchen with all new stainless-steel appliances, cherry cabinetry and beautiful bright quartz countertops. Dining table seating for 10 and comfortable island seating for 4 more.
The living room sofas can accommodate your whole group positioned around a 50ā€ TV with full cable package for watching sports events. The internet speed is 100mb download and is fast for remote working, tele-conferencing, and media streaming. All of this surrounded by gorgeous framed art, beautiful rugs and custom made window treatments with beautiful tropical colors.

TWO UPSTAIRS MASTER SUITES
The 2 spacious master suites feature king-size pillow top beds, all with dual reading lamps at each bedside. French doors open onto your private balcony/patio overlooking the pool and grounds. The spa-like bathrooms feature rain-head showers, full-sized soaking tubs, and dual vanities. Each room has a 32ā€ TV as well with cable.

TWO FIRST FLOOR GUEST SUITES
The guest suites feature king-size pillow top beds, all with dual reading lamps at each bedside. Each of these suites offers French doors with private balcony/patio and an en suite bathroom, equipped with a walk-in rain shower.

KID'S ROOM/ADDITIONAL GUESTS
The "kid's" room or additional guest room features two twin-sized beds.

LANAI/POOL/BBQ
Our pool and lounge areas are the most popular areas of the house for our guests, featuring not one, but two covered patios and palapas for socializing and relaxing. The main patio off of the house has a sectional outdoor sofa and dining area positioned next to a 36" built-in Gas BBQ. Additionally there is newly built and furnished palapa with two day beds and seating for 8 off the other side of the pool and garden. Both patios have large ceiling fans, lighting and electrical outlets to plug in speakers for music to enjoy while you swim, dine, and relax.

Casa Estrella del Mar is managed by a professional property management team to assist you with booking tours, or concierge services during your stay. We also have an on-site caretaker that performs daily housekeeping services, providing a comfortable and carefree stay.

Christmas Vacation

Place is great! Very comfortable for 4 couples. Air conditioning worked well, kitchen well stocked and pool was a nice break. Love the place would stay here again for sure.

Great House and Location.

The house is all that you could want for a family (or not) vacation in a slice of Paradise. It's private and remote, but an easy walk to a market and handful of restaurants, and the beach, which is gorgeous and secluded. I would love to come back some day.

Great stay in playa grande

It was great to be near the beach but away from the crowds of Tamarindo. Keep in mind that it is a 40 minute drive to town even though itā€™s only a mile down the beach. The house was perfect for our multi generational family. Great amount of space and a very relaxing trip. Would definitely recommend.

Fun and Relaxing

The house was beautiful! It offered everything we could possibly need. The outdoor area was absolutely stunning- that's where we spent most of our time. The beach equipment was a huge plus. Lots of restaurants, coffee shops, and a market all within a short walk. Beach was WONDERFUL and just a short walk. Would definitely stay again.

Fantastic location and accommodation

We were a group of 4 couples. This property had everything that we could have asked for from the rooms to the pool and out door area. Loved the proximity to the market and the restaurants in the neighborhood. We were able to easily walk to dinner at Cantarana ( excellent breakfast) , dinner and live music at The Grateful hotel, boat taxi to Tamarindo and the beach. We will be back!

Winter Getaway

There were 10 of us who stayed in the house and it was wonderful. Very comfortable and up to date living area and kitchen. Lots of room and privacy for each couple. The beach is so close and lots of little local restaurants within a short walk from the house. It was perfect

The house was great and had a lot of space for our group of 10 adults and 2 children. Fresia was very pleasant each morning as she arrived to tidy up and wash towels. The outside was kept clean by 2 yard guys. We had an issue on the second night with a septic drain backup which caused an issue with the smell inside the home and made the downstairs master bath unusable for that evening. The property manager Jennifer did send someone over the next morning and they snaked the drain so atleast things in that bathroom were able to drain. Although Fresia cleaned up the smell the following day, but the odor did return, especially in the laundry room and hall bath. We had to keep those doors closed We also had to rent beach chairs for our group. There were chairs in the garage but they were super heavy to be lugging them to the beach each day. Loved having the market at the Palmbeach Inn right next door - Dan the owner was super nice! Overall a great stay although the continuous septic smell was a disappointment

Great house in Playa Grande

Casa Estrella del Mar is one of our favorite houses in Playa Grande. The house has lots of room and is very comfortable. We had tons of space for 9 of us. There is a great pool and outdoor area. We spent lots of time by the pool when not at the beach. The house has beach chairs and toys which our kids loved. There was great communication from the staff. We will definitely be back.

My family and I have been renting this house since 2019. It is amazing. The on site staff, Jerry and Fresia, are absolutely amazing. The house has everything you need. The neighborhood has wonderful restaurants and the kitchen is easy to prepare meals. We hired Grande Sushi for a private dinner and that is a must. Canā€™t wait to return.

We are 12 family members from Canada, California, Colorado, Oregon and Texas. Meeting up for a family vacation. Golf, Fishing, Shopping, Ziplinig,Tubing, Waterfall, Volcano and Beach time. We hired a private chef Sandra and Son Alvaro and friend for a traditional meal. We enjoyed Costa Rica but driving around was challenging.

Wonderful location for family vacation

We all loved the house, the pool and the location. Fresia and Jennifer are great. House and outside area was very spacious and comfortable. We were not disappointed with anything. There were 4 restaurants within close walking distance. A little grocery store next door. Very convenient. Beach was a 7 minute walk and is beautiful. Loved the sunsets. Great location and fun for ages 1 to 67!

Fantastic Home

We couldn't have asked for more. We loved the house and Palm Beach Estates. The beach is so quiet and beautiful. The house is conveniently located next door to a small store to buy things you may need and a restaurant. Make sure you meet Ernesto. He knows everyone and can help you find fishing trips etc. Anytime we needed something regarding the house Freesia was right there for us. We can't wait to return.

Everything was wonderful! The house was spacious, pool great, walk to beach easy, and closeness to a few restaurants and a small grocery store also great! The whole family had lots of room and privacy when desired. The house manager was always prompt in response to any inquiries and the local personnel very pleasant and friendly! We hired a chef and 2assistants for our last meal from the the store next door (The Palm Beachā€”-?). The food was excellent and the staff very friendly! Overall a very positive experience making wonderful memories for all!

Beautiful Villa

The Villa is beautiful, spacious, very well equipped, and clean. The nearby beach is secluded and beautiful, and there is a small supermarket and a few restaurants walking distance from the villa, which is very convenient. The property manager is very responsive, and there's a housekeeper that comes every day to clean the house and the pool, which gives a true vacation feeling :)Two little things to note: 1) the way to the villa from the main road is bumpy. Consider renting a 44 car. 2) the gates and doors don't have keypad locks. You have to carry sets of keys in your pockets to get in and out, as well as stepping out from the car whenever you enter and exit with the car, to lock the manual gate. Overall, the neighborhood is safe and there's a gate and a gaurd after sunset. We really enjoyed our time at the villa and recommend it for a great family vacation!

Fantastic home in great location

This is the perfect home for multiple couples or large families. Tons of togetherness space, but also lots of privacy in all the individual bedrooms and bathrooms. The pool area is so great for gathering, having fun, and just relaxing. Small cafƩs in a store right next-door, but, no neighbors behind or on one side. So again, lots of privacy. Felt very safe. Short walk to the beach and other cafƩs. Daily light housekeeping from a wonderful, friendly caretaker. Daily pool cleaning and landscaping maintenance. Absolutely perfect stay.

Friends and Family

We were 2 families, 3 generations all together in a wonderful roomy house, in a small, walkable neighborhood of homes, casual restaurants, and a gorgeous beach for beautiful morning walks and sunsets. A couple days were spent on excursions but much time was spent in the pool and covered areas around the pool on those really hot days. We even had a show from the howler monkeys! Layout was great, beds comfortable. Only 'hiccups' were issues with the hot water and living room couches were not particularly comfortable. All in all, a great house to gather with friends and family!

Splendid Property

This was just a perfect place. Everyone had all the privacy they could want and all the togetherness to enjoy. The private beach was a short walk away, and the sounds and fragrance of the jungle lingered like an aura around the pool area with its lush, tropical landscaping. The neighborhood was charming, with small shops and restaurants in walking distance, but the drive to nearby towns was also easily accessible. The service by the caretakers was kindly and detailed so we really were on vacation, not just "keeping house" away from home. The kitchen was well appointed and large, so whatever cooking or pineapple shearing we did was done with ease in comfort with the whole family gathered around. We would definitely go there again!

Best place in Playa Grande

We had 5 families staying with us and it was great that each room (besides one) had an en Suite bathroom. The room with the twin beds did not have its own bathroom, but otherwise, it was great. The place was clean and besides the fact that the air conditioners had a hard time keeping up if you put them too low, it was a great place. There was a lack of cups (we ended up buying some cheap ones) but the kitchen was stocked with the basics. Maybe a few more sets of plates, silverware, and glasses would be good since we would run out after every meal. Everything was well maintained and the house was so close to everything.

We loved the house! There were 5 couples and we all had private bedrooms and bathrooms. Open concept and great amenities. The pool was the best. Spent hours there. We had a couple problems with internet service. It was not the greatest. One bedroom had AC go out and the host sent someone right over and fixed it quickly! You do need the AC due to heat and humidity. Easy walk to beach and restaurants. Last couple mikes on dirt road was a challenge but loved it when we got there. Small market next door for quick essentials. All in all we would come again.

Great Place to Spend a Week in CR!

We absolutely loved our time in Playa Grande at Estrella Del Mar. House was very comfortable and well-appointed. We were a true 5 minute walk to a lovely beach. The pool was fantastic, and we leveraged every day when it was too hot to sit on the beach. Caretakers Fresia and Yeri were fantastic, and they made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Angelika at Hotel Bula Bula helped us plan our activities and ensured we had the transportation we needed for all the activities we scheduled. A few minor criticisms about the house: 1) the acoustics in the house are rough due to the vaulted ceilings, making it tough to hear when the tv is on or when people were talking. 2) The house could use some games, puzzles, etc for families to enjoy while at the house. All and all - we would absolutely stay at Estrella Del Mar again.
