Our villa has beautiful views of the golf course and/or surrounding mountains. Located in San Diego County with a near perfect climate and within easy driving distance to the Pacific ocean and mountains.

The resort offers families and loved ones an astounding blend of luxury, climate and culture - the ultimate vacation retreat to escape to.

The 600-acre Welk Resort has a waterpark with waterslides and children's interactive splash pads. Also the resort is situated just minutes from world famous destinations of San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park (20 minutes), LEGOLAND (25 minutes), San Diego Zoo (40 minutes), San Diego Gaslamp District (35 minutes), SeaWorld (40 minutes) Temecula wineries, area casinos, and some of the most beautiful beaches (30 minutes) in the world.

The villa includes sitting and dining areas, a full kitchen with all cookware and dishware, patio and/or balcony and complimentary high speed Internet access. Close to highway with a lot of traffic noise. Listing on VRBO described 5 day minimum stay, but we were forced into booking and paying for 6 days.

The property was spacious, but dated and in need of cleaning.

The property was in need of cleaning and updating. The sofa was squeaky and horribly uncomfortable, the chairs had holes in the fabric, there were cobwebs all over the bathroom, mold growing in window sills, and filthy door knobs and light switches. Also, everyone on staff at the resort was pushing to sell us a time share. Would not stay here again, happy to be headed home this morning.

Perfect family destination!

The Welks resort is a must if you're looking for a perfect family vacation. The views are spectacular and the amenities are great for the whole family. Looking forward to our next stay.

Terrible Maintenance issues

The unit itself could have been quite beautiful. Unfortunately we didn’t have hot water the first 3 days. We could hear the pipes loudly every time a neighbor showered. We called maintenance for 3 solid days to please come and fix the dishwasher. On the 4th day they came and realized it was junk and put in a new one. But we didn’t have one to use during the bulk of our whole week. Welk resort is under-employed. “The employees did not come back to work since covid.” Is what we were told no less than 5x. But they are still booking to capacity. There was supposed to be housekeeping during the week but not once did it happen. I was able to get them to bring some toilet paper, paper towels and laundry soap when we ran out. All of the Hispanic employees work hard and are over-worked but the resort itself is ran down and requires much repair as well as more employees. Forget about getting ahold of the front desk the first 8x you call. Maybe the 9th, if you’re lucky. Also, there were spiders everywhere in our unit. We just got used to disposing of them but it was a little nerve racking when we were going to sleep at night. Pros: the golf course is beautiful. There are a lot of pools to choose from. There are gulf carts to ride around on to get to the different parts of the resort if needed. The employees on the resort are really nice. There is a washer and dryer and a/c that works well. There is a lot of space in the 2 bedroom rental. Having said that, I wouldn’t stay here again. They pressure you to buy into their time share. I was literally there for 5 hours and I still said no. I asked them why I would buy into a time share that is so poorly taken care of. Their response, “We’re just understaffed right now. Normally it’s nicer. But we’re still booking at capacity.” Well, I guess ask me to invest once it is what it claims to be— a luxurious resort. Marriott/Hyatt is buying it out October 1st so the i expect the standards will greatly improve.

Excellent Resort style family fun

Our family of 4 had a blast here. The units are really nice with 2 full bedrooms and a large deck, LR/DR and kitchen. The rooms have good distance between them for privacy. Pools were clean and spacious. The on-site par 3 golf course was fun for families and duffers alike. Only downside is it’s a bit far from good restaurants etc. but we brought food so we ate in several nights. Great time!

The Stay at Welk Resort was excellent. The amenities were outstanding The restaurant Thesyre and golf was very good. One draw back was on Super Bowl Sunday we were asked to move out of the condo because the owner wanted to use it I thought that was inappropriate. We also had to pay resort fees. 20 dollars per day. We didn’t use them. Any thing we did use we paid out of pocket

Pleasant stay

After getting use to the road noise from I-15, some cool water showers, and noise from people walking in the condo above us, we enjoyed the size and decor of the condo, along with all the resort amenities.
