Nestled in a sought after gated community you will find our Villa By The Sea with a stunning ocean view of Kailua Bay. 24 hour check in is available.
The view from the living room, kitchen and lanai is simply mesmerizing, with front row seats to watch seaside activities of Kona town and cruise ships out in the bay. Sunlight pours in through skylights and vaulted ceilings with high-reaching windows offering a sense of openness. Hand scraped wood floors throughout as well as quality furnishings, including a large antique leather top desk located in the master bedroom where you can quietly organize your time. For those needing wifi, we have a new high speed system that allows for wireless internet throughout the house.
The kitchen is organized and fully equipped for entertaining with everything from a slow cooker to a rice cooker. The bedrooms will wow you with their openness to beauty. All bed have quality custom linens.
Two “full” bathrooms allow for stress-free mornings.
The master bedroom which has a King Size bed with a large walk-in closet, flat screen TV, and gracious bathroom. The private lanai opens to tropical flowers and view of the water feature from your bedside.
Central A/C is available for a reasonable fee. An electric barbecue is provided should you choose a more casual atmosphere.
Minutes from downtown Kailua-Kona, close to all amenities, The community pool is located in Kona and is free, and many beaches are nearby. The villa is tucked away on a quiet cul-de-sac high in the Malulani gated development in a location designed to take advantage of air flow from cool cross breezes. The ocean view is wonderful overlooking the church steeple un town and waves crashing along thee shoreline in the harbor below.
For the beach goers, we are stocked with boogie boards, beach blankets, coolers and picnic equipment.
The Malulani area has paved walkways and underground services (no wires to disturb your views). Entry gate has motorized gate opener.
Truly a vacation “destination” you will long remember. We want your vacation to be a memorable experience; one that will have you falling in love with Hawaii, Kona, and our peaceful Villa by the Sea☀️
We provide our guests with our personal list of recommended restaurants and activities.
Cancellation of Ironman bookings must be 3 months prior to arrival.

absolutely immaculate - everything looks new-and extremely quiet! Lovely plush pillows and very comfy bedding. Kitchen is very intuitive and a joy to cook in. The perfect place to write my next novel- looking out at the ocean from the front verandah is so inspiring.

Beautiful and spacious

Couldn't have asked for better accommodations during our stay in Kona. Everything was superb!! Location was fantastic, plenty of room for a very comfortable stay in a spotless house. We appreciated restaurant and activities recommendations from the owners.

A Perfect vacation spot

We were so happy and comfortable in this adorable house. The beds were comfortable, the house was spotlessly clean. The owners really thought of everything, boogie boards in the garage, snorkeling equipment, plenty of towels, full size washer & dryer, fully equipped kitchen. It could not have been better. The setting was ideal. We miss waking up to our view of the ocean.

Everything you could want

One of the VERY BEST rentals we have ever had. Beautiful home in a fantastic location. Close to the city center but far enough away to give you quiet and privacy. The house is clean, well kept, and stocked with everything you could need. But, even more important, the owner is gracious, kind, understanding, and SO helpful. Every suggestion was spot-on!! If you are staying in Kona, THIS IS THE ONE!! You can stop your search right here!!

Just wanted to thank you for the wonderful stay we had at your Villa by the Sea. This was by far the best place we have ever stayed in Kona. Thank you for sharing your home with us. This property is beautiful quiet gated community with a view that yielded us magnificent sunsets. Well equipped to let you save by cooking and drinking in. Wifi worked great for all our devices, 4 mobile phones 3 tablets and a MAC. Awesome gardens front and back of house. Very quiet very relaxing friendly owners. Close to downtown Kailua.

Excellence!

Hands down the nicest, best furnished/decorated, most comfortable and completely outfitted vacation rental we have ever stayed at. Very clean in every nook and cranny. Beautiful view. Landscaping was gorgeous in front and back. Privacy was not an issue. Location was in the middle of everything we wanted to do. This will be our choice next time we stay on the Big Island. The owner contacted us before arrival to make sure everything was in place and made herself available for any questions that may arise.

Restful Garden Villa with View

We spent over three weeks in the villa and enjoyed every moment. The house is lovely with all amenities, an elevated view of Kailua Kona and has a nice breeze and cool garden to enjoy at any time of day. The kitchen is very well provided and we had Christmas dinner at the house. Why go out? There is a closet full of towels and linens and everything for the beach in the garage. Couldn't have asked for more. Shannon is very responsive and caring and we appreciated her friendly emails during our stay. Mahalo nui!

Wonderful vacation

My wife and I stayed 11 nights at the beautiful Villa by the Sea. It was our best vacation ever. The house is conveniently located in central Kailua-Kona, with Safeway nearby. The house has everything. We mostly cooked our own meals at home as we like to treat ourselves to fresh ahi tuna and delicious ono fish while in Hawaii. Spectacular views of the ocean from, unbelievable sunsets. Very quiet community, the only thing you hear is only the birds crying. My wife especially liked the backyard garden with flowering ginger where you can relax with a drink! Our favourite beach is the Kapalua Bay where you can swim with the turtles every time (15 min. drive). We will definitely return.

Complete relaxation

Everything was wonderful - the house, the peaceful location, the birdsong in the early mornings drinking Kona coffee on the lanai.... the view!!! The house was relaxed, comfortable and had everything we needed. Great location, safe and secure. Central for the beach, shopping, cafés. Very easy for the airport too. This area had plenty to do for teenagers and exhausted parents. The owner even provided us with current recommendations on restaurants, how to access the best beaches etc. We would never have found such wonderful beaches on our own as they are really hidden away. It was fun to head out in the late afternoon with snorkeling gear and beach towels from the house and explore a different hidden beach. What more can we say - it was perfect.

Kailua-Kona perfection.

This was my 12th visit to Kona. My second time staying in Kailua-Kona. I usually stay in South Kona to get away from it all. It was great being close to town and everything. Island Naturals, Target, Costco, restaurants and beaches. All while still being a short drive to the south and great destinations: City of Refuge, Honaunau Bay aka 2 Step. The house is perfectly set up and is equipped with everything you need to make all your meals. The view is spectacular. The location is perfect. The layout is easy and relaxing. The decor is comfortable and peaceful. Shannon is a great host and very helpful with any questions asked. We will be back next summer. The air temp was ideal. The water warm and the waves were mellow. Warmest Mahalo, Shannon for sharing Villa By The Sea and making our stay so wonderful.

Perfect!

Nicest place we’ve stayed at. Good sized 2 bedroom house wonderfully appointed. Quick access to major road. 15 minutes or so from airport. Host was excellent— sending extensive recommendations for activities, restaurants, etc. Couldn’t be more pleased.

A great home

This house was beautiful. The view is beautiful! The back yard is beautiful! You get a show with all the geckos every morning as you drink your morning coffee!! I can’t wait to come back and will be checking to see if this house is available when we do!

You can stop looking! Fabulous property! Perfect location!!

We stayed 8 nights in this gorgeous home while vacationing on the Big Island. All I can say is it was absolutely perfect! The home is immaculate inside and out, the neighborhood was stunning and the location is perfect! Just about a mile from everything you want or need! The view from the front lanai was unbelievable and the landscaping was a joy within itself! I adored all the little geckos living on the property!! The property is BETTER than described! Complete with beach towels, beach blankets, snorkeling gear, boogie boards, ice chests.....pretty much everything you need for the beach! The house had plenty of bath towels, washrags, cleaning supplies, extra sheets and blankets as well as extra pillows, standing fans, kitchen had all the dishes and cookware needed. Absolute silent neighborhood! The only sounds heard were the beautiful birds singing early in the morning. The need for air conditioning was unnecessary and we are from Texas where we always have it. The weather is perfect so you open the windows and have a wonderful breeze! I just cannot describe in words how perfect this rental is nor can words describe the magic and beauty of Hawaii. Shannon was perfectly awesome in communication! She checked in on us by text upon arrival and was so helpful when we had questions. We could not have picked a better place to call home while visiting. Thank you so much for providing such an outstanding property with the absolute best rates! We will return here hopefully in 2022! Mahola!!!!

Wonderful, adorable home close to everything!

We really enjoyed our stay at Shannon’s ‘Villa by the Sea!’ The cute 2BR home beckons for relaxation and it delivered! From the perfect view and lanai out of the front of the home where you can see the boats zip in and out of the harbor and big waves splash upward on the rocks, to the tropical grotto feel of the back yard where many birds sing and even have a nest or two in the black rock wall, everything is here for a relaxing week! The neighborhood is very quiet with most residents around you living there full time - this isn’t a ‘party’ type area, but one where your family can enjoy all the amenities of the house and area for a fun, family vacation. The central AC worked perfectly paired with the Nest thermostat (extra charge for AC), and the stainless steel tub LG full sized washer and dryer worked perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Family visit

We had a lovely stay in Kailua Kona. This well appointed home is convenient to downtown and shopping. Fully equipped kitchen (minus the icemaker) made for easy breakfast and dinner. Beautiful view from the front lanai and private back porch are great places to relax. Comfy beds, ceiling fans and beautiful bathrooms added to our comfort. The beach gear in the garage (towels, fins, chairs, cooler etc) was much appreciated. We hope to visit again!

Fabulous.

This home was immaculate with every amenity imaginable-snorkels, fins, booties, beach chairs, coolers, sunscreen, lotion, boogie boards. What more can I say-we could not have been happier. The home was furnished beautifully. The backyard and patio were so tropical. We have spent a lot of time in the Islands of Hawaii and this was one of the best places we have ever stayed. Location to everything was perfect. A big thank you to the owners for allowing us to stay in the Villa by the Sea.

We came to the Big Island with Family for our Wedding. This was by far the best Vacation home out of all of us. We were so pleased with the lovely view out the front Lanai and the sweet private courtyard in the back. The kitchen was fully stocked as well as the Linens and the beds were so comfy. But I must say what made this a Stellar Vacation rental was the Owners. From the emails with easy check in details and Big Island Suggestions to answering all of our questions in such a timely manner. You can tell that they take pride in their home and it shows. Great property and very good communication with the owner on anything that came up. Even allowed us to stay late when flight was delayed. Size of home was great for us and one child. Options to stay on veranda or at rear garden. We left boogie boards for the next visitors but a beach umbrella might be helpful for others.

We fell in love with the Malulani community being located right in the heart of town in a beautifully maintained gated community with no power lines. So easy to access shopping and activities. It is set just above Kailua Bay, known for its courteous neighbours and quiet park-like setting. Villa By the Sea is located in one of the upper cul-de-sacs away from the main road. We provide our personal list of activities and restaurants. Please note the minimum age is 10
